  • In general, the rolling stock has been designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of purchaser. The requirements of the noise and vibration performance are called the international standard (ISO, UIC, TSI etc.) and are demanded based on the special conditions for the regional regulation and the characteristics for operating condition in detail. In this paper, the noise and vibration performance in the train at stationary condition has been investigated and the design parameter of the cooling fan to control the noise and vibration performance has been examined.

  • THE RAILWAY VEHICLE IS CONSISTS OF CARBODY, BOGIE AND WHEELSETS, EACH OF COMPONENTS IS CONNECTED WITH RIGID MASS, SPRING AND DAMPER. EACH OF COMPONENTS HAS TRANSLATION MOTIONS OF LONGITUDINAL (X AXIS), LATERAL (Y AXIS) AND VERTICAL (Z AXIS) DIRECTIONS, ROTATION MOTIONS OF X, Y, Z AXIS WHICH ARE NAMED ROLLING, PITCHING AND YAWING. THE VIBRATION MODE OF RAILWAY VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO FIND THE CHARACTERISTICS OF MOTION DURING THE OPERATION ON THE TRACK BECAUSE THESE HAPPEN TO INDEPENDENCE OR DUPLICATION MOTION CAUSED BY VEHICLE, WHEEL/RAIL AND TRACK IRREGULARITY ETC. IT IS NAMED AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION THAT THE VIBRATION, WHICH WAS PASSED THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SUSPENSION, IS AFFECTED TO THE PASSENGER WITHOUT DAMPING. THIS PAPER DESCRIBES AN EXPERIENCE EVALUATION TO FIND THE CAUSE OF AN ABNORMAL VIBRATION WHICH WAS HAPPEN AT OPERATING SPEED 60KPH ZONE DURING THE MAINLINE TEST.

  • Maglev train system has been continuously received attention as it provides good ride quality and low noise and vibration level. Furthermore it is an eco-friendly transport system with little dust pollutant. However the dynamic performance of the vehicle has been influenced by the track layout and the structural stability of guideways and girders, etc. Especially the levitation control of magnetic module is the most important performance of the Maglev system and is very sensitive about the control algorithm and the parameters of the controller. In this paper, the co-simulation of the control and dynamic model has been proposed and the simulation results for the running simulation on the curve track has been shown.

  • 현행 철도관련기관에 종사하는 안전업무종사자(기관사, 관제사 등)의 업무적성평가제도는 나름의 논리적 토대 하에 설계되어 안전업무종사자의 업무적성검증과 역량의 개발 및 보존에 기여하는 바가 크다. 그러나 한편 조직 내외적인 여러 요인으로 인해 사회, 기술, 가치관(욕구) 등의 제반 환경적 변화추세를 적시에 제도적으로 반영하는데 일정한 한계가 있을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이 같은 점을 고려하면서 특히 기관사를 대상으로 한 직무분석결과를 토대로 현행 업무적성평가제도와의 적합관계를 분석하여 바람직한 제도적 틀을 설계하기 위한 기초정보를 제시하려는데 그 목적이 있다.

  • Bimodal Tram is the newly developed vehicle for both the tracked way and the public road. Its operation system has some characteristics including BIS(bus information system)/BMS(bus management system) based on ITS(intelligent Transportation system) which is used presently in public transportation operation system. One of them is more accurate vehicle fleet control based on both magnetic maker position reference system and GPS(global positioning system) and the other is automatic vehicle control for emergency situations by the Bimodal Tram operation system which will be performed by the unified control and operation center. This paper has investigated the requirements and functional definitions necessary to construct the unified control and operation center for Bimodal Tram operation system which will be more efficient and secure public transportation system than the conventional ones.

  • According to the GM/RT2141, to assess the safety of vehicle, the validated the vehicle dynamic model should be applied. The validation of the vehicle model is against the static test, some kind of vehicle type test results have been used to determine the suspension characteristics and the vehicle dynamic characteristics. To validate the vehicle model and the test results, first the test results has been analysed as to specified the suspension characteristics and than the parameters to related with the test result has to be adjusted to show the same results of the test. In this process the parameters of vehicle model have been determined to show the coherence of the two results of the simulation and the test by trial & error. In this report, the optimization tool has been introduced in this model validation process and shows the efficient and well validated model.

  • This paper presents the evaluation of fatigue life for a journal box attached to rolling stock bogie under random dynamic loading condition. Because a journal box was under random dynamic loading conditions, the fatigue life assessment due to these loads requires the analysis considering the multiaxial effect of random dynamic loading. To do this work, the finite element analysis has been conducted to calculate random dynamic response using multiaxial acceleration data. Then, the fatigue life assessment of component has been conducted using vibration fatigue analysis applying the power spectral densities of the responses obtained through the FEA The results of fatigue life assessment were compared to the damage from the strain measurement. This study shows that can be evaluated the fatigue life assessment considering real service condition about a component attached to rolling stock bogie.

  • When a train moves on rails, wheel and rail vibrate to produce contact noise and contact force. The former results in airborne noise and the latter transmits through bogie and excites carbody to generate structure borne noise. In this paper, wheel vibration is studied by theoretical and experimental approaches. Theoretical analysis is performed by finite element method and experimental analysis is performed by impact test. Using modal analysis and model tunning, we could have good agreement between the two approaches.

  • Safety of the Train Control System become more important along with the progress of the computer and the technology of communications in these days. Safety of the Train Traffic Control System needs an accurate analysis of the Hazard to reduce losses of a property and lives. Many of advanced railroad nations already had established safety standards when they set the system even considering scrap of railroad and put a great concern on developing safety system which is getting larger and more complicate. Domestic railroad system has to introduce improved technology and systematically prepare and make a scientific survey to achieve unparalleled reliability and safety as well. In this Study, ITCC CTC System will show the research and the analysis of the hazard to ensure the safety of software.
