Design Evaluation of the Post-installed Anchor considering Effective Embedded Depth and Concrete Strength (유효 묻힘 깊이와 콘크리트 강도를 고려한 후설치 앵커의 설계식 평가)

  • Post-installed anchor is a structural material that connects structural and non-structural members to existing concrete members. However, there are cases where rebar interception and construction error occur at the site. In that case, measures are needed to prevent performance degradation of the rear-installation anchors. In this study, in order to evaluate the performance of torsional control expandable post-installed anchors for compressive strength and effective depth of the reference concrete was tested. The results of the most commonly used tests of M10 and M20 showed that had variable coefficients within 15%, satisfying the reliability presented in KCI(2017). It was also confirmed that the depth of the buried and the strength of concrete affect the strength of the pavement. Based on the results of the existing similar studies and the results of this study, the design equation of the post-installed anchor was proposed and the results were compared with the existing design.

  • 본 연구는 철근콘크리트 격납구조물에서 가상의 냉각제 유출사고에 의한 온도하중과 압력에 따른 거동을 알아보기 위한 비선형 해석을 수행하였다. 시간에 따른 온도하중을 결정하기 위하여 과도온도해석을 통해 격납구조물 단면내의 온도분포를 구하였다. 구조물은 기하학적 비선형성과 재료비선형성을 고려한 판 및 쉘요소로 이상화되며, 쉘요소는 두께방향에 따라 변하는 응력을 고려하기 위해 몇 개의 층으로 이루어진 모델을 사용하였다. 열응력은 인접한 두시간 단계에서의 온도차를 하나의 하중증가로 고려하여 초기변형 문제로 변환하여 결정되었다. 본연구에서의 수치실험에 의하여 과도온도해석에 근거한 비선형온도경사를 고려할 때의 변위가 고려하지 않을 때의 변위에 비해 크게 나타남을 알 수 있다.

Nonlinear Dynamic Anslysis of R/C Structures Using Approximate Modal Approach (근사모드법을 이용한 철근콘크리트 구조물의 비선형해석)

  • An approximate method of normal coordinate idealization for use in nonlinear R/C frames has been developed. Normal coordinate apporaches have been used for nonlinear problems in the past, but they are not received wide acceptance because of the need for eigenvector computation in each time step. The proposed method cicumvents the eigenvector recalculation problem by evaluating a limited number of sets of mode shapes in performing the dynamic analysis. Then the predetermined sets of eigenvectors are used in the nonlinear dynamic analysis, repeatedly. The method is applied to frame structures with ductiles R/C elements. The plastic hinge zones are modeled with hysteresis loops which evince degrading stiffness and pinching effects. The method is applied to frames with local nonlinearities. Efficiencies and accuracies of the method for this application are presented.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Deterioration Diagnosis System for the Reinforced Concrete Structure which can be used preliminary in determining the factors causing deterioration by simple inspection and mapping of the indicators of deterioration. Total 29 items compromising material, structural and constructional factors causing deterioration were considered in this system. Also the indicators of deterioration were subdivided into 54 items such as concrete crack pattern and steel corrosion etc. Each indicator of deterioration was quantatified by allocating and giving grade to each item which has extra weight according to its conscquence. Satisfactory results were obtatined by applying this Diagnosis system to the indicators of deterioration in ref. [3]. Further research was required on the indicators of deterioration in construction site to enhance the field applicability of this system.

The Optimum Design of Reinforced Concrete Structures Based on the LRFD (하중일- 저항계수 설계법에 의한 철근콘크리트 구조물 최적설계)

  • In this study, an optimization design of reinforced concrete structures is performed by using the structural optimization techniques based on the LRFD criteria. The target reliability index is estimated by the optimal reliability index considering the expected cost which is taken as a sum of the structural cost and the expected costs due to failure of the structure. The load and resistance factors calculated by using level I reliability theory with the target reliability index are compared for each load combination (D+L, D+L+w). The results of this study show that the resistance factors are ${\phi}_{M}$=0.90, ${\phi}_{V}$==0.70, ${\phi}_{C}$==0.65 and the load factors are 1.20D + 1.70L, 1.07L + 0.07L + 1.10W. The optimization techinques used to this study are S.L.P. The optimization design based on the LRFD criteria is more economical and rational than other criteria.

  • This paper reviews available techniques for monitoring corrosion of steel in concrete. The need for early detection and diagnosis of corrosion related deterioration in reinforced structures is widely acknowledged. This is particularly important in reinforced concrete structures on account of the economic and social significance of the problem. The current generally used on-site procedure for corrosion monitoring of reinforced structures employs a method of half-cell surface potential measurements. While the technique has provided a useful means of delineating areas of high or low corrosion risk, there are difficulties in its use and interpretation when assessing rates of deterioration. Electrochemical techniques are by far the most suitable for corrosion monitoring purpose and meet most of the requirements. The aim of this paper is to describe the electric resistance sensor(ER sensor) and electrochemical techniques employed to monitor and estimate corrosion rates of reinforcement. Early detection and diagnosis of corrosion hazards allows preventive measures to be taken, hence the typically expensive repair of severely deteriorated structures can be avoided.

  • Even though structural performance evaluation techniques for reinforced concrete structures have been improved, there are still many problems in the evaluation of structural performance for underground structures which interacts with surrounding soils. Since experimental evaluation of underground RC structures considering the interaction with the surrounding soil medium is quite difficult to be simulated, the evaluation for underground RC structures using an analytical method can be applied very usefully, For underground structures interacted with surrounding soils, it is important to consider path-dependent RC constitutive model, soil constitutive model, and interface model between structure and soil, simultaneously. In this paper, an elastoplastic interface model which consider thickness was proposed and importance of interface model is discussed. The effects of stiffness of structures to entire underground RC system are investigated through numerical experiment for underground RC structure for different reinforcement ratios and thickness of interfaces.

  • The main objectives of this paper are to compare the obtained mechanical characteristics of reduced-scale model materials with those of the prototype and to provide the information on the best selection of materials. Manufacturing techniques on the micro-concrete and reduced reinforcement are introduced. The test results of these materials are shown to be satisfactory with regard to the similitude requrement. The simple beam tests were performed to verify similitude in the bond behavior between micro-concrete and reduced reinforcement. Those results also prove that these manufacturing and experimental techniques are useful and reliable for reduced-scale model test.

  • Expert systems which represent the appllication of artificial intelligence research are now nearly 20 years old. It is said that the present technology together with ever- increasing computing applicability of Combined Hypertext-Expert System Techniques to the design of reinforced concrete structures. Hypertext systems allow the user to control the system while expert systems alone don't give the user any control over the system. Therefore the combination of these two techniques, offered by KnowledgePro, may bring us closer to real user-expert communication. The system developed in this work offers information on design in general by reorganizing ACI Manual 318-89, detailed stress analysis and cross sectional design of simple PC/RC beams and optimum design of reinforced concrete building frames. The system also includes the author's earlier work on guidance to identify types of cracks in concrete. It is also demonstrated how well and conveniently existing programs can be used by reorganizing the user manuals in the context of hypertext.

  • The degradation of reinforced concrete (RC) structures due to physical and chemical attacks has been a major issue in construction engineering. Deterioration of RC structures due to chloride attack followed by reinforcement corrosion is one of the serious problems. The objective of this study is to develop a form of mathematical model of chloride ingress into concrete. In order to overcome some limits of the previous approaches, a mathematical model of chloride ingress into concrete consisting of chloride solution intrusion through the capillary pore and chloride ion diffusion through the pore water was proposed. Moreover, the variability of diffusivity of chloride ion due to degree of hydration of concrete, relative humidity in pore, exposure condition, and variation of chloride binding was considered in the chloride ingress model.
