A Vulnerability Analysis of Intrusion Tolerance System using Self-healing Mechanism (자가치유 메커니즘을 활용한 침입감내시스템의 취약성 분석)

  • One of the most important core technologies required for the design of the ITS (Intrusion Tolerance System) that performs continuously minimal essential services even when the network-based computer system is partially compromised because of the external or internal intrusions is the quantitative dependability analysis of the ITS. In this paper, we applied self-healing mechanism, the core technology of autonomic computing to secure the protection power of the ITS. We analyzed a state transition diagram of the ITS composed of a Primary server and a backup server utilizing two factors of self-healing mechanism (fault model and system response) and calculated the availability of ITS through simulation experiments and also performed studies on two cases of vulnerability attack.

  • 하천 및 수자원의 효율적인 관리와 더불어 다양한 수공구조물의 운영 및 관리를 위해서 구조물 주변에서 발생하는 불연속 흐름 및 급변류 등의 현상과 구조물 운영을 반영한 수치해석 기법을 이용한 모델 개발의 중요성이 커지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 하천의 불연속 흐름을 모의하기 위한 1차원 흐름해석 모형(K-River)을 개발하였다. 본 모형은 천이류와 급변류를 수치적으로 안정하게 처리하기 위하여 지배방정식을 보존형 Saint-Venant 방정식으로 선정하고, FVM과 Forward Euler 방법을 이용하여 이산화를 수행하였다. 수치흐름률을 계산하기 위해서 불규칙 단면과 하상의 급경사 등에 신뢰도가 높은 기법으로 판단되는 근사 Riemann해법 중 하나인 HLL flux를 이용하였다. 개발된 K-river 모형의 검증을 위해서 해석해가 존재하는 타원형의 하상융기가 있는 하도에 적용하였으며, 국내에서 하천 설계 및 관리를 위해서 광범위하게 이용되고 있는 1차원 흐름해석 모형인 FDM기반의 HEC-RAS 모의결과와 비교 검토를 수행하였다. 그 결과, FDM기법에서는 모의되지 않는 일부 급변류 패턴을 개발 모형을 통해 모의가능하였으며, 전체적으로 K-River가 기존 모형 보다 해석해에 근사한 결과를 나타내었다. 또한, 배수문을 비롯하여 합류부, 분류부, 펌프장, 암거 등이 설치되어 운영되고 있는 아라뱃길에 적용하여 K-River의 적용성을 평가하였다. K-River를 이용하여 아라뱃길의 흐름분석을 수행한 경우가 HEC-RAS를 이용한 경우보다 수위와 유량의 유동을 시간에 따라 세밀하게 모의하였으며, 이는 배수효과에 의한 파의 전달이 FDM기법 대비 정확히 모의되기 때문으로 판단된다. 추후 연구에서는 현재보다 시간간격을 상세화 하여 수집된 관측수위를 통해 추가적인 검증을 수행하고, 다양한 특성을 가진 타 하천 등에 적용하여 모형의 적용성을 확대하고자 한다.

Specific Impulse Gain for KSLV-II with Combination of Dual Bell Nozzle and Expansion-Deflection Nozzle (듀얼 벨 노즐과 E-D 노즐을 결합한 한국형발사체의 비추력 증가)

  • A basic numerical analysis was performed to confirm the possibility of combining a dual bell nozzle and an Expansion-Deflection(E-D) nozzle. The dual bell nozzle was designed based on the first-stage nozzle of the Korean Space Launch Vehicle that is being developed, and the E-D nozzle concept was applied to the dual bell nozzle. The inlet condition was analyzed by applying eight types of frozen flow analysis, and k-${\omega}$ SST was selected as the turbulence model. The number of optimal grids was obtained as 240,000 through the grid sensitivity analysis. As a result, it was confirmed that the transition altitude increased owing to over-expansion when the E-D nozzle concept was applied to the dual bell nozzle, and the specific impulse gain was obtained at high altitudes compared with the KSLV-II first-stage engine.

  • 자연하천에서 수자원의 원활하고 안전한 관리에 있어서 오염물의 혼합 거동에 대한 이해는 매우 중요하다. 대부분의 자연하천의 경우 만곡부 및 합류부와 같은 복잡한 지형을 갖고 있으며 이러한 경우 하천의 흐름이 복잡한 형태를 갖게 된다. 특히 수생태계에 많은 영향을 미치는 하폐수 처리장 처리수는 대부분 1차적으로 지류로 방류되어 이후 본류로 지속적으로 유입되게 된다. 이러한 오염물질이 지류로부터 본류로 혼합되는 합류부 구간의 경우 일반적인 1차원 혼합이 아닌 횡방향을 포함하는 2차원적인 혼합 거동에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 금호강과 진천천이 좌안으로부터 오염물질이 지속적으로 유입되는 낙동강 중류구간 합류부에서의 혼합 구간의 연구를 위하여 횡분산계수 산정을 위하여 전기전도도(electrical conductivity: EC)를 이용한 농도 추적 실험을 수행하였다. 낙동강 본류에서 정해진 측선을 따라 센서가 설치된 보트를 이용하여 실시간으로 농도, 수리량 데이터를 GPS 위치 데이터와 함께 취득하였다. 또한 실험으로부터 취득한 자료를 바탕으로 2차원 이송-확산 혼합 거동 모델인 CTM-2D 수치모형을 이용하여 모의하였다. 실험 수행 결과, 지류인 금호강과 진천천의 EC 농도가 합류 전 낙동강 본류의 EC 기저농도 보다 더 높은 값을 나타내었다. 지류의 유입으로 인하여 본류 좌안 쪽에서 전기전도도의 값의 상승을 확인할 수 있었으며 하류로 이동할수록 불균등했던 전기전도도의 분포가 횡방향 혼합을 통하여 점점 균등한 분포로 전환되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 2차원 혼합 거동 분석에 필요한 횡 분산계수 산정을 위해 모멘트법, 해석해를 이용한 추적법, 수치모형을 통한 역산법을 통해 산정하여 결과를 비교하였다. 그 결과 모멘트법의 경우 다른 방법들에 비하여 전반적으로 과소 산정하는 경향을 나타내었다.

  • Underwater, signals are transmitted by sound waves. Sound waves are transmitted through a multipath, either directly or through reflection, due to the variety of underwater environmental characteristics. In such diverse and complex underwater environments, tests must be conducted to determine the extent of the hazard from the survivability and pitfalls of submarines by measuring the underwater radiated noise. Usually, the sound source level measurement of underwater radiated noise should be made within the closest point (CPA: Closest Point of Approach) ± a few meters between the measurement sensor and the submarine. In this study, FDOA and TDOA methods were proposed to estimate the underwater source range. A simulation based on the underwater channel model confirmed the performance of the proposed method.

Numerical Simulation of Urban Flash Flood Experiments Using Adaptive Mesh Refinement and Cut Cell Method (적응적 메쉬세분화기법과 분할격자기법을 이용한 극한 도시홍수 실험 모의)

  • Two-dimensional shallow water model based on the cut cell and the adaptive mesh refinement techniques is presented in this paper. These two mesh generation methods are combined to facilitate modeling of complex geometries. By using dynamically adaptive mesh, the model can achieve high resolution efficiently at the interface where flow changes rapidly. The HLLC Reimann solver and the MUSCL method are employed to calculate advection fluxes with numerical stability and precision. The model was applied to simulate the extreme urban flooding experiments performed by the IMPACT (Investigation of Extreme Flood Processes and Uncertainty) project. Simulation results were in good agreement with observed data, and transient flows as well as the impact of building structures on flood waves were calculated with accuracy. The cut cell method eased the model sensitivity to refinement. It can be concluded that the model is applicable to the urban flood simulation in case the effects of sewer and stormwater drainage system on flooding are relatively small like the dam brake.

  • To evaluate the flexural deformation and strength of composite motor case above the glass transition temperature$(T_g),\;170^{\circ}C$, of resin material, a finite element analysis(FEA) model in which material non-linearity and progressive failure mode were considered was proposed. The laminated flexural specimens which have the same lay-up and thickness as the composite motor case were tested by 4-point bending test to verify the validity of FEA model. Also. mechanical properties in high temperature were evaluated to obtain the input values for FEA. Because the material properties related to resin material were highly deteriorated in the temperature range beyond $T_g$, the flexural stiffness and strength of laminated flexural specimen in $200^{\circ}C$ were degraded by also $70\%\;and\;80\%$ in comparison with normal temperature results. Above $T_g$, the failure mode was changed from progressive failure mode initiated by matrix cracking at $90^{\circ}$ ply in bottom side and terminated by delamination at the center line of specimen to fiber compressive breakage mode at top side. From stress analysis, the progressive failure mechanism was well verified and the predicted bending stiffness and strength showed a good agreement with the test results.

  • Recently, there has been tremendous increase in human-computer/machine interaction system, where the goal is to provide with an appropriate service to the user at the right time with minimal human inputs for human augmented cognition system. To develop an efficient human augmented cognition system based on human computer/machine interaction, it is important to interpret the user's implicit intention, which is vague, in addition to the explicit intention. According to cognitive visual-motor theory, human eye movements and pupillary responses are rich sources of information about human intention and behavior. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for the identification of human implicit visual search intention based on eye movement pattern and pupillary analysis such as pupil size, gradient of pupil size variation, fixation length/count for the area of interest. The proposed model identifies the human's implicit intention into three types such as navigational intent generation, informational intent generation, and informational intent disappearance. Navigational intent refers to the search to find something interesting in an input scene with no specific instructions, while informational intent refers to the search to find a particular target object at a specific location in the input scene. In the present study, based on the human eye movement pattern and pupillary analysis, we used a hierarchical support vector machine which can detect the transitions between the different implicit intents - navigational intent generation to informational intent generation and informational intent disappearance.

We also defined the survivability, availability, and downtime cost of the ITS, and then performed studies on simulation experiments and two cases of vulnerability attack. Simulation results show that intrusion tolerance capability at the initial state is more important than coping capability at the attack state in terms of the dependability enhancement.

  • Responses of plankton populations to nutrient enrichment in mesocosm experiments in Shihwa lake were simulated using FVCOM. Dissoloved oxygen module was added to the FVCOM to simulate impacts of its decreased levels. The ecological model included the major components of the pelagic ecosystem including nutrients, phytoplankton (pico-, nano-, micro-), zooplankton (two groups of protozoa, mesozooplankton), particulate organic matter, dissolved organic matter and bacteria, and was calibrated using trophodynamic data collected from Gyeonggi Bay and Shihwa Lake. The model was able to reproduce major responses of plankton populations to nutrient enrichment, including phytoplankton of different size groups, change of dominance of protozoa from < 20 ${\mu}m$ oligotrichs to scuticociliates, and reponses to bacteria and low levels of dissolved oxygen in water column of the mesocosms.
