Modelling of Rayleigh and Rician Mobile Fading Channel (Rayleigh 및 Rician 페이딩 이동 채널 모델링)

  • In this paper, the performance of simulation model in mobile to mobile Rayleigh and Rician fading channel is analyzed and simulation results are compared. The auto-correlation and cross-correlation functions of Rayleigh fading channels not only based on received signals of Clarke's fading model and but also based on received signals of phase shifted Clarke's fading model are derived and their simulation results are found. The two models are also applied to mobile to mobile Rician fading channel models and their numerical results of auto-correlation functions of complex envelop received signals shows the statistical properties match the theoretical values very well and rapidly converge with the small number such as N=8.

  • In this paper, we present a Petri Net (PN) model for reliability analysis of a shared database system. The system consists of components; a database, two processors, two memory and a bus. The database should be operational and at least one of the component should be also operational. Otherwise system will be down. Each component can be failed and repaired individually. Stochastic Reward Net (SRN) Model for reliability analysis is developed. SRN is potential to define various reward function and can be easily used to obtain performance measures. The modeling techniques using variable cardinality, enabling function, timed transition priority in SRN are shown.

  • In this paper, we discuss the method of recognizing allophone unit isolated words using hidden Markov model(HMM). Frist we constructed allophone lexicon by extracting allophones from training data and by training allophone HMMs. And then to recognize isolated words using allophone HMMs, it is necessary to construct word dictionary which contains information of allophone sequence and inter-allophone transition probability. Allophone sequences are represented by allophone HMMs. To see the effects of inter-allophone transition probability and to determine optimal probabilities, we performend some experiments. And we showed that small number of traing data and simple train procedure is needed to train word HMMs of allophone sequences and that not less performance than word unit HMM is obtained.

  • In the present study, a flow solver using a kinetic BGK scheme was developed for the compressible Navier-Stokes equation. The kinetic BGK scheme was used to simulate flow field from the continuum up to the transitional regime, because the kinetic BGK scheme can take into account the statistical properties of the gas particles in a non-equilibrium state. Various numerical simulations were conducted by the present flow solver. The laminar flow around flat plate and the hypersonic flow around hollow cylinder of flare shape in the continuum regime were numerically simulated. The numerical results showed that the flow solver using the kinetic BGK scheme can obtain accurate and robust numerical solutions. Also, the present flow solver was applied to the hypersonic flow problems around circular cylinder in the transitional regime and the results were validated against available numerical results of other researchers. It was found that the kinetic BGK scheme can similarly predict a tendency of the flow variables in the transitional regime.

  • Based on the planar restricted three body problem formulation, optimized trajectories for the Earth-Moon transfer are obtained. Mixed impulsive and continuous thrust are assumed to be used, respectively, during the Earth departure and Earth-Moon transfer/Moon capture phases. The continuous, dynamic trajectory optimization problem is reformulated in the form of discrete optimization problem by using the method of direct transcription and collocation, and then is solved using the nonlinear programming software. Representative results show that the shape of optimized trajectory near the Earth departure and the Moon capture phases is dependent upon the relative weight between the impulsive and the continuous thrust.

  • The flow and combustion dynamics in the ignition and ramjet sustainer phase of an integrated rocket-ramjet(IRR) engine are investigated. The physical model includes the entire engine flowpath, from the freestream in front of the inlet to the exit of the exhaust nozzle. The flowfield obtained from a rocket booster study is used as the initial condition for the present analysis, so that the complete operation history of the engine can be obtained. The analysis for the primary factor governing flame propagation during the ignition and the key mechanisms for driving and sustaining the flow oscillations are performed.

  • A trajectory analysis program is developed using a 3DOF trajectory model for the performance analysis of geostationary launch vehicles by system options. Launch trajectory and the performance of injection at GTO was estimated using this program for several propellant options, engine types, number of engines and the location of launch site. Results of the analysis presents that the possibility of mission accomplishment by several design options using domestic launch sites and the development direction of GEO launch vehicles.

  • Aiming at time-dependent performance prediction of Liquid Rocket Engine(LRE) system, Modular Program for Conceptual Design of LRE is reviewed, and a modeling and dynamic analysis of rocket engine system with reference to Rocket Engine Dynamic Simulator(REDS) is outlined. Component modeling is based on classical thermodynamic and inviscid theories, and were formulated mathematically in terms of essential parameters. Essential design parameters are addressed. The rocket engine is modeled as a system of pipes with various hydraulic elements, and then the operate characteristic of that elements are simulated by solving conservation equation sequentially.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 TIN(Triangulated Irregular Network)을 생성하고, GIS 기반의 지형도, 토양도 및 토지 이용도를 이용하여 WMS 6.1 모델로 홍수위별 홍수범람도를 작성하는데 있으며, 대상유역은 양화천 유역의 세1지류인 매류천과 안금천, 대신천 유역으로 선정하였다. 대상유역내의 실제 홍수범람자료를 조사하였고, Arc-view를 이용하여 DEM (Digital Elevation Model), 토지 이용도, 토양도의 GIS DB를 구축하였다. 본 연구에서 50년 빈도의 홍수위를 분석한 결과 모형을 사용한 피해 예상 지역과 실제 홍수위로 인한 피해지역이 유사하게 나타났다. 20년 빈도 홍수위에서 500년 빈도 홍수위로의 증가로 인한 침수면적의 증가율은 매류천이 가장 작았고, 안금천이 가장 컸다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 저해상도 DEM이 제외지 및 하천 제방의 영향을 전혀 고려하지 못 하였던 점을 개선하여 저해상도 DEM과 항공사진 측량자료인 고해상도 DEM을 합성하여 더욱 신뢰성 있는 홍수범람도를 작성하였다. 이 결과는 대상유역의 홍수발생시 홍수예경보 및 재해발생시 대피장소의 결정과 시설물 관리업무의 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 홍수피해의 판단자료로 이용될 수 있을 것이다.

Nonlinear Crash Analyses and Comparison with Experimental Data for the Skid Landing Gear of a Helicopter (헬리콥터 강착장치 비선형 충돌해석 및 실험결과 비교)

  • In this study, nonlinear crash analyses have been conducted for the skid landing gear of a helicopter. The realistic landing gear model of the commercial helicopter (SB427) is considered. Three-dimensional dynamic finite element model with variable thickness and material plastic behavior is constructed and LS-DYNA(Ver.970) is used to conduct nonlinear transient crash analyses for different impact conditions. Characteristics of nonlinear transient responses due to the ground crash are investigated for typical structural design criteria of a skid landing gear system. In addition, comparison results for maximum crash deformations of the skid landing gear are presented and the important effect of ground friction for numerical accuracy is described.
