We propose a transient evaluation scheme using a pressure measurement in a complicate pipeline systems. Conservation of mass and momentum equations in time domain can be transformed into a pressure head and flowrate relationship between upstream and downstream point in frequency domain. The impedance formulations were derived to address measured pressure at downstream to evaluate of flowrate or pressure head at any point of system. Both branched pipeline element and looped pipeline element can be generally addressed in the platform of the basic reservoir pipeline valve system. The convolution of time domain response function with measured pressure head from a downstream point provides flowrate or pressure head response in any point of the designated pipeline system. The proposed method was validated through comparison between traditional method of characteristics and the proposed method in several hypothetical systems.
To compare ecological succession stage between 1987 and 1992, this study was executed in Mt. Puk'an. 26 sample plots of 500$m^2$ were set up. The results were summarized as follows; 1. To analysis plant community structure, the classification by TWINSPAN and CCA, DCA and RA ordination were applied to the study area. That of Mt. Puk'an was divided 4 groups by altitude. The dividing groups are Robinia pseudo-acacia-Quercus spp. community, mixed forest community, Q. serrata community, and Q. mongolica community. The successional trends of tree species over 500m seem to be from Pinus densiflora to Q. mongolica and below 500m in altitude seem to be from Robinia pseudo-acacia through Quercus acutissima, Q. mongolica, Prunus sargentii, Sorbus alnifolia to Q. serrata in the canopy layer. In the case of understory and shrub layer, the successional trends to be from Corylus sieboldiana, Zanthoxylum schinifolium through Rhus trichocarpa, Rhododendron mucronulatum, Rh. schlippenbachii to Acer pseudo-sieboldianum. 2. In comparing successional trends with 1987', the advanced data was not obtained in 1992. It was postulated that succession is not progressed by human disturbance and air pollution.
To investigate the plant community structure in Gunpo Experimental Forest of Mt. Suri, Kyonggi-do, sixty-four plots were set up and surveyed. By DCA ordination technique, sixty-four plots were divided into seven groups. The dividing groups were * Pinus rigitaeda community, P. densiflora community, P. densiflora-Quercus mongolica community, Q. variabilis community, Q. aliena comunity, Q. serrata community, Carpinus laxiflora community. Though the successional trend of seven communities by DCA ordination technique and DBH class distribution analysis was not clearly inferred, * Pinus rigitaeda community and P. densiflora-Q: mongolica community seems to be trended from present state to Q. spp. community. P. densiflora community, Q. variabilis community, Q. aliena community and Q. serrata community seems to be maintained preaent state and C. laxiflora community will be maintainde stable state. Shannon's diversity was 0.7430~1.3025(unit area: 300m$^{2}$) and soil acidity was pH 4.16~5.13 in surveyed areas.
Fouling communities developing in Jinhae Harbor and Masan Bay were studied by slide and panel immersion test during the period from Dec., 1982 to Nov., 1983. The total viable count of bacteria was estimated more than 1.7${\times}$ 10$\^$4/CFU/$\textrm{cm}^2$ after 15 days of immersion and 46 taxa of benthic diatoms were classified in micro-community. Progressional change of fouling communities was clearly shown and dominant diatom species are Licmophora flavellata, Navicula grevillei, and Nitzschia closterium Major macrofouling organisms are Mytilus edulis, Balanus amphitrite amphitrite, Hydroides ezoensis, and Celleporina sp. Wet weight production of macrofouling organisms exceeds 500g/100cm$\^$2/ after 5months of immersion. Regional defferences in community development are clearly shown in two study areas, and mainly due to the disparities of physicochemical stability and nutritional status of ambient water. Seasonality of larvae and the growth rate are the important factors in fouling community development. Overall process of community development is as follow : bacteria and diatoms-multicellular algae-barnacle, mussels and polychaete-sponge, anemone and ascidian.

A seasonal variation of phytoplankton community in the middle-lower part of the Nakdong River was studied in four sampling stations at monthly intervals from January to December 2012. We identified 40 genera 72 species of phytoplankton. Among these, diatoms were 36 species (50.0%), green algae 20 species (27.8%), blue-green algae 9 species (12.5%) and others 7 species (9.7%), respectively. The phytoplankton standing crops were recorded a maximum of 29,640 cells/mL at the Mulgeum (St. 4) in June and a minimum of 236 cells/mL at the Goryung (St. 1) in October. Also, Standing crops were increased with proceeding from middle part to lower part. Ecological important species were Stephanodiscus hantzschii, Cyclotella meneghiniana, Synedra acus, Aulacoseira granulata, Pediastrum sp. and Microcystis aeruginosa. Seasonal succession of phytoplankton represented that Stephanodiscus hantzschii was dominant species in winter, Cyclotella meneghiniana, Synedra acus was dominant species in spring, Microcystis aeruginosa, Cyclotella meneghiniana, Fragilaria crotonensis, Synedra acus, Aulacoseria granulata was dominant species in summer, and Aulacoseria granulata, Cyclotella meneghiniana, Fragilaria crotonensis was dominant species in autumn. In the community analysis, diversity index and dominant index were higher May~July and December~February, respectively. Also, diversity index and dominant index were decreased and increased with proceeding from middle part to lower part.

To figure out the vegetation situation in the ridge of the Naknam-Jeongmaek, six intensive survey sites were selected considering environmental factors and human interferences, 132 quadrats (area $100m^2$) were installed to survey appearing species of trees and major environmental factors, and the characteristics of vegetation structures were analyzed. The surveyed plots were divided into six groups according to the analysis of classification by TWINSPAN; Quercus mongolica-Q. variabilis community, Pinus densiflora-Q. dentata community, Chamaecyparis obtusa community, Q. mongolica-P. densiflora community, P. densiflora-P. thunbergii community, P. koraiensis community, Rhododendron spp.-Lespedeza cyrtobotrya community. P. densiflora-Q. dentata community, Q. mongolica-P. densiflora community, and P. densiflora-P. thunbergii community are expected to be succeeded by deciduous oaks because the power of deciduous oaks is strong in their lower layer. C. obtusa community, P. densiflora community, and Rhododendron spp.-L.cyrtobotrya community are artificial forests that were artificially formed and are expected to be maintained in the current state for some time because the dominance value of planted species of trees is high. Most vegetations in Naknam-Jeongmaek were secondary forests or artificial forests formed for forest tree production and forestation for erosion control. In particular the top regions and hilly sections of the mountain were mostly dominated by deciduous oaks such as Q. mongolica, Q. variabilis showed some P. densiflora community competing with deciduous oaks. On the other hand, low sections and regions adjacent to the city showed severe artificial interference since exotic species such as P. thunbergiil, C. obtusa, P. koraiensis, and Rhododendron spp. were planted.
This study, targeting Namhan Mountain Fortress which was designated as a No. 57 national historic site and placed on the World Heritage Tentative List in 2010, was intended to identify the change of vegetation structures by reviewing past references, pictures, research data and additionally conducting a site survey. Also, it was designed to draw up measures for restoring vegetation suitable for historically and culturally valuable Namhan Mountain Fortress. According to the biotope mapping of study site, Quercus spp. forest distributed a greatest part of area with 40.8% of $2,611,823m^2$. Pinus densiflora forest, highly likely to go through ecological succession, was dispersed in the whole region of Cheongryangsan, the area from West Gate to North Gate and the ranges between South Gate to Cheongryangsan with taking 16.5%. Pinus densiflora forest with a low probability of succession amounted to 4.7% and was dispersed mainly in the forest behind Namhansan elementary school. Pinus densiflora going on the ecological succession is distributed a portion of 2.9%. And the currently dying out Pinus densiflora forest amounted to 2.1%. As a result of analysis of the vegetation structure for 19 years, the succession from Pinus densiflora forest to Pinus densiflora and succession from Quercus spp. mixed forest to Quercus spp. forest to Carpinus laxiflora forest were predicted. Additionally, Quercus spp. expanded its dominance over time. According to the characteristics of each classified zone, the site was categorized into $553,508m^2$ area of Pinus densiflora forest area for the landscape maintenance, $114,293m^2$ area of Pinus densiflora forest area for the landscape restoration, $205,306m^2$ area of Pinus densiflora forest area for the disclimax, and $1,169,973m^2$ area of Pinus densiflora forest area for inducing ecological succession.
The zooplankton community of Lake Paldang, Korea, was investigated on a weekly basis from 2004 to 2006. The seasonal succession of zooplankton community structure was influenced by hydrological factors such as rainfall pattern and efflux in Lake Paldang. According to the monsoon climate, spring, fall and winter had reduced precipitation, so that zooplankton dynamics of the lake showed a typical succession pattern. In spring, small sized and faster growing rotifera rapidly increased, and copepods and cladocera noticeably increased thereafter. Rotifera dominated the zooplankton community, occupying more than 90% of total zooplankton abundance. Among rotifera, Keratella cochlearis was extremely dominant in spring. Copepoda were mainly present as Copepodid and Nauplius. Among cladoceran species, Bosmina longirostris was dominant. In summer, during the rainy season, zooplankton were flushed out by an associated dam. After the rainy season, rotifera increased rapidly when the water column of the lake was stable. During the fall, zooplankton abundance gradually reduced in accordance with decreasing water temperature. However, the occupation rate of copepod (Copepodid, Nauplius) increased relatively. Zooplankton dynamics were influenced by meteorological changes and hydraulic-hydrological factors, because Lake Paldang is a completely closed ecosystem.
This study was conducted to clarify the differences in habitat characteristics and rodent populations between before and after damaged tree removals at forest fired areas in coniferous forest, Samcheok, Gangwon Province, Korea. The understory coverage and the number of shrub stem were increased by forest succession. Number of snags and downed CWD (coarse woody debris) were decreased after damaged tree removals. Population density of Apodemus agrarius was increased after damaged tree removal. However, population density of total rodents, Apodemus peninsulae and Eothenomys regulus were decreased. Changes in habitat structures may be influenced in rodent species composition. Especially, that would be negative effect on forestdwelling rodents.
