  • TV-Anytime은 차세대 디지털 방송을 위한 표준으로 기존의 방송시스템에서 방송 서비스 제공자가 사용자에게 방송 프로그램을 일방적으로 전송하는 것과는 달리 사용자가 다 채널 환경하에서 관련 메타데이터를 이용하여 채널을 직접 검색하고 검색한 정보를 저장하였다가 시간과 장소에 무관하게 사용하는 것을 목표로 한다 이러한 환경을 가능하게 하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 TV-Anytime 메타데이터를 저장 및 관리하고 검색하기 위한 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. TV-Anytime기반 메타데이터 관리 시스템은 메타데이터의 특성을 파악하여 일반적인 메타데이터 관리 방법보다는 TV-Anytime 메타데이터에 특화된 방법으로 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한, 사용자에게 보다 풍부한 질의를 제공하기 위해서 MPEG7을 추가하여 내용기반 검색을 가능하도록 할 뿐만 아니라, XQuery를 검색을 위한 질의어로 사용하여 시스템간의 상호운용성을 보장하였다.

  • 이동 Ad Hoc 네트워크는 무선 채널 특성으로 인해 많은 보안상 위협에 노출될 수 있으므로 인증, 무결성, 기밀성 등의 보안 서비스를 제공하기 위한 키 관리 메커니즘이 요구된다. 그런데 Ad Hoc 네트워크는 중앙 집중적인 관리 노드의 부재, 동적인 위상 변화, 통신 자원의 제약 등의 특성을 고려하여 키 관리 메커니즘을 설계하도록 요구하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 클러스터 기반의 Ad Hoc 네트워크에서 ID 기반의 임계치 암호화 기법을 사용하여 공개키의 사전 분배 가정을 제거함으로써 토폴로지의 확장성과 유연성을 반영하고, 분산적이며 확장성있는 키분배 서비스가 가능하게 하였다. 또한 클러스터간에 교환되는 메시지의 무결성을 보장하기 위한 클러스터 MAC키 협상 방안, 헤드와 클러스터 내 특정 멤버간의 보안 채널 구축 통신하고자 하는 클러스터 멤버 호스트간에 안전하게 세션키를 생성, 분배하는 메커니즘 등을 제안하였다.

  • According to the changes of current regulation of media, the broadcasting environment has been loosened by market power, and came into competitive era for broadcasting industry with new technology of combined broadcasting and communication. To resolve these issues, the broadcasting provides are trying process of new channel brand identity to introduce their channels. The purpose of the research is to analyze Spot animation that has fast access to viewers among channel brand identity factors, review expandability and usage of Spot animation character to plan, manage character that can improve awareness and loyalty. Therefore it will study creation background and production, activities of each character representing KBS and MBC, compare the structure, color, material, expression of Spot animation character and summarize properties. To conclusion, three characters of KBS and MBC failed to apply structured and professional plan and management, only expressed image that each channel pursue on Station ID Spot animation and had issues of not deeply sighting expandability and usefulness as a character. The important factor to improve channel brand value of broadcasting provider is to have differentiated identity, and the core of it is to make image-responsible Station ID to be effective. Therefore, Spot animation and character of Station ID is a very important factor so there must be professional research and structural management from the early planning and production for character that represents the providers.

Threshold Based Buffer Management Algorithm for Fairness Improvement between Input Channels in ATM Networks (ATM 망에서 채널간 공평성 향상을 위한 문턱값 기반 버퍼 관리 알고리즘)

  • The purpose of ATM traffic management is to protect the network using minimum resources and guarantee the requred QoS and also it is desirable to provide fairness between input channels. In this paper, we propose the TBBM(threshold based buffer management) algorithm to improve fairness between input channels and utilization of ATM networks. TBBM algorithm controls output cell rate dynamically based on threshold. The result shows that the required bandwidth of the TBBM algorithm is 14.3% lower in audio traffic and 41.8% lower in video traffic than that of theoretically calculated equivalent capacity method. and also reveals that the TBBM algorithm provide improved CLR fairness between input channels

  • As wireless networks evolve to orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA) systems, inter-cell interference control becomes a critical issue in radio resource management. The allocation of the same channels in neighbor cells cause inter-cell interference, so the channel allocation needs to be taken carefully to lower the inter-cell interference. In distributed channel allocation, each cell independently tries to allocate channels that suffer low interference level. In this paper, under the assumption of static users, we introduce the concept of interference range and use it in designing our two algorithms; basic and combined. The basic algorithm performs interference range detection and determines whether to use the considered channel, while the combined algorithm checks the channel quality in addition to detecting the interference range. The two algorithms dynamically perform channel allocation with low complexity and show good throughput and fairness performance.

  • This paper presents a resource management mechanism for the mesh networking in IEEE 802.15.3 High-rate WPAN. IEEE 802.15 TGS is standardizing the MAC and PHY for mese networking. This task group researches the mechanism that are extension of network coverage without increasing transmit power of receive sensitivity, and studies the enhanced reliability via route redundancy. In this paper we propose the distributed resource management scheme that is fairly using the channel resource in the piconet without centralized piconet coordinator. Each DEV reserves the channel time and broadcasts its information. This scheme has unfairness for later associated DEV because of preoccupation of earlier associated DEVs. This paper presents the method that fairly allocates the channel time in MAC layer. And we evaluate the performance enhancement using simple simulations.

A Dualistic Channel List Management Technique for Efficient Channel Navigation in IPTVs (효율적인 IPTV 채널 탐색을 위한 이분화된 채널 리스트 관리 기술)

  • With the increased desire of TV consumers for interactivity and personalization, IPTV has been rapidly spread in recent years. IPTV can provide a variety of services through hundreds of channels, but the explosion of TV channels makes users even more difficult to find their desired contents. In addition, the channel zapping delay of IPTV is serious due to the limited network bandwidth. To resolve these problems, this paper distinguishes hot and cold channels by exploiting the real-time viewing rate as well as each user's viewing history, and then, maintains hot channels in the hot list, which is searched first during channel navigation and also prefetched to support the preview of channels. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme improves the IPTV channel seek time significantly compared to existing channel seeking interfaces.

  • Recent rise of social media channel is changing social and economic paradigm and is being used as an effective communication in marketing. The following research analyzes the most employed social marketing tools such as portal advertisement, blogs, and SNS channels to effectively execute social media marketing from performance indicator and ICSI perspective, analyzes each channel's characteristics and results based on Korea distribution companies' case studies and suggests a framework to effectively use each channel. Portal site advertisements are the most effective channel to draw customers with new information and are thus linked to profit by corporations with excessive budget and workforce. Blogs target a specific range of customers providing quality information and knowledge thus improving a corporation's and its product's trustworthiness, spread the word by allowing customers to scrap the information, form social groups and synthesize ideas, events, new contents and social involvement with loyal customers. SNS channels allow customers to get involved in real time information and events, grow through network by the power of customers, react immediately to customers' needs, and execute real-time market and customer reports. Though national corporations currently rely heavily on portal site advertisements, insightful marketing professionals are showing financial results with blog and SNS. In the future, based on a precise understanding of each channel's benefits and expected results, and with a focus on flexibility, timeliness and integrated use of each channel, a portfolio of dynamic marketing as a maximizing strategy could be synthesized.

  • 디지털 방송에서의 맞춤형 서비스란 사용자가 원하는 방송 프로그램만을 사용자가 원하는 시간에 볼 수 있게 해 두는 서비스를 말한다. 본 연구는 맞춤형 방송 서비스를 위한 사용자 별 선호정보를 자동으로 추출하여 관리하는 사용자 선호정보 관리 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 맞춤형 방송 서비스를 위한 표준인 TV-Anytime에서 제안하고 있는 메타데이터를 기반으로 사용자 선호정보와 사용자 히스토리 정보를 사용하여 맞춤형 방송 서비스를 위한 선호 프로그램과 채널을 예상하여 사용자에게 제시한다. 이 과정에서 사용하는 사용자 선호정보는 사용자 별로 청취 과정에서 채널, 시간대, 방송에 따른 반응 행동기록을 토대로 자동으로 추출하고 업데이트하는 방법을 제안한다.

An analysis of consumer choice between the Internet and TV home shopping channels (인터넷 및 TV 홈쇼핑 채널 간의 소비자 선호 결정 요인)

  • Using survey data and the Heckit model that adequately controls the sample selection bias, we analyze shoppers expenditure through two major emerging shopping channels: Internet shopping and TV home shopping channels. Age, Internet experience, daily Internet usage, the number of computers are factors that affect the ratio of consumers' expenditure through Internet shopping relative to the expenditure through TV home shopping. Shopping frequency which represents the shoppers' incentives to reduce transaction costs also has a positive effect on the proportion of shoppers' expenditure through the Internet shopping. Shoppers' perceptions of convenience, reliability, speed, and diversity are also shown to affect shoppers' relative expenditure ratio through Internet shopping. In contrast, shoppers' perception of prices does not seem to affect their purchasing behavior.
