  • The development of information technology(IT) has brought so-called "online experience" to satisfy our daily needs. The market for online experiences grew more during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, this study attempted to analyze how the features of online experience services affect customer satisfaction by crawling structured and unstructured data from the online experience web site newly launched by Airbnb after COVID-19. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the structured data generated by service users on a C2C online sharing platform had a positive effect on the satisfaction of other users. In addition, unstructured text data such as experience introductions and host introductions generated by service providers turned out to have different subjectivity scores depending on the purpose of its text. It was confirmed that the subjective host introduction and the objective experience introduction affect customer satisfaction positively. The results of this study are to provide various implications to stakeholders of the online sharing economy platform and researchers interested in online experience knowledge management.

  • Coronary artery disease(CAD) is associated with a high risk of recurrence and an increased mortality rate upon recurrence. Consequently, there is a need for continuous health behavior recommendations from medical staff. Therefore, a study was conducted on 219 patients hospitalized for coronary angiography. The study aimed to investigate the influence of medical staff recommendations on exercise adherence among CAD patients. In conclusion, regular exercise(RE) recommendation(OR 3.52, p=.036) and dietary advice from medical staff(OR 6.48, p=.022), having high exercise self-efficacy(OR 1.36, p=.001) positively affected RE adherence. Therefore, medical staff should strengthen personalized recommendations for RE and healthy diets, as well as develop exercise self-efficacy enhancement programs to encourage patient participation. Future research is recommended to explore the impact of the degree and method of medical staff recommendations on self-management practices among CAD patients.

  • This study investigated the perceptions of military personnel toward stuttering and persons who stutter (PWS) using the Public Opinion Survey of Human Attributes of -Stuttering (POSHA-S). A total of 67 military personnel participated in the study (male: 58, female: 9, commissioned officers: 11, non-commissioned officers: 56, with an average age of 31.9 years and a standard deviation of 8.7), and the collected data were analyzed according to the guidelines provided by St. Louis. To compare the perceptions of military personnel toward stuttering and PWS, percentile ranks (%iles) relative to the global POSHA-S database, which were constructed from responses from a total of 20,941 participants from various cultural regions, countries, and groups (as of June 2023), were retrieved. Results showed that the overall stuttering score for military personnel was 7, corresponding to the 14 percentile in the POSHA-S database. In addition, the sub-score for ' self-reactions to PWS' was -11 (8 percentile in the POSHA-S database). These results revealed that military personnel hold more negative attitudes toward stuttering and PWS, overall. These findings emphasized the importance of addressing the lack of accurate information among military personnel, suggesting a need for educational programs mainly aimed at improving the understanding of stuttering and PWS within the military.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate a MAKEathon programme designed to address climate change and dietary concerns, and to enhance competencies related to entrepreneurship and sustainable development. The programme was developed as a voluntary-based extracurriculum for the middle and high school students in South Korea. In order to verify the effectiveness, surveys were conducted before and after the program, focusing on the measures of the three competencies i.e. sustainable development competencies, creativity, and entrepreneurship, as well as the programme satisfaction and demographic background. Paired t-tests of pre-/post-tests were conducted on the responses of 29 participants and the results indicate significant improvement in the three competencies and high programme satisfaction. These findings underscore the value of incorporating extracurricular programmes related to sustainability in home economics education, suggesting potential for broader application in topics like clothing, food, and housing. Such programmes are poised to enhance educational effectiveness in teaching problem-solving for sustainable development.

  • This study intended to verify the effects of face masks on the Korean language in terms of acoustic, aerodynamic, and formant parameters. We chose all types of face masks available in Korea based on filter performance and folding type. Two professional voice actors (a male and a female) with more than 20 years of experience who are native Koreans and speak standard Korean participated in this study as speakers of voice data. Face masks attenuated the high-frequency range, resulting in decreased Vowel Space Area (VSA) and Vowel Articulation Index (VAI)scores and an increased Low-to-High spectral ratio (L/H ratio) in all voice samples. This can result in lower speech intelligibility. However, the degree of increment and decrement was based on the voice characteristics. For female speakers, the Speech Level (SL) and Cepstral Peak Prominence (CPP) increased with increasing face mask thickness. In this study, the presence or filter performance of a face mask was found to affect speech acoustic parameters according to the speech characteristics. Face masks provoked vocal effort when the vocal intensity was not sufficiently strong, or the environment had less reverberance. Further research needs to be conducted on the vocal efforts induced by face masks to overcome acoustic modifications when wearing masks.

  • Purpose of Study: The purpose of this study was to analyze children's play patterns in gardening. Through this, we aimed to have significance as basic research to find ways to support children's play in gardening. Research Contents and Methods: From August to October 2022, a total of 15 participant observations and interviews were conducted with 13 children (9 4-year-olds, 4 5-year-olds) aged 4-5 years at J Daycare Center in Gyeonggi-do. The collected data was transcribed, categorized, and analyzed. Conclusions and suggestions: Children's play patterns in gardening were 'sympathetic play', 'intuitive play', and 'imaginative play'. In the garden, where nature can be easily accessed, children shared emotional interactions and feelings with nature through peer relationships. Children encountered nature in the garden and experienced intuitive, sensory play. Children made up plants, animals, and objects related to the garden and showed their imagination. Children's playfulness was revealed in gardening, and sensitivity and curiosity about changes in nature were revealed through continuous interest in nature through understanding of the mutually beneficial relationship with nature. Gardening should be approached as a long-term, continuous experience rather than a hands-on or one-time experience.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the child care time, as well as the perceptions of and satisfaction with the time use, of fathers and mothers in dual-income families with preschool children. 444 time use data were gathered from the Statistics Korea Life Time Surveys in 2019. The results of this study are as follows. First, the total child care time of the two parents per family on a working day was 72.1 min on average, and more time was spent on primary care than on developmental care. Second, the father's child care time on a working day was 40.8 min on average, and the mother's time, almost three times more-110.3 min, which show a significant difference. By type of care, the mother's care time was about three times more than that of father for primary care, and about two times more for developmental care. Third, the mother's primary care time differed by household income level, and the primary care time of both fathers and mothers differed according to the number of their working hours weekly. Fourth, both fathers and mothers felt somewhat tired and had a time deficit, but mothers were less satisfied than fathers with the division of household tasks between them. To encourage fathers' voluntary participation in child care, they must be informed of their joint responsibility with their spouse as parents must be emphasized under the term "co-parenting." It is necessary to expand systems that support parental care and promote a family-friendly culture in workplaces to guarantee the rights of parents.
