The north-south rail transit is main communications artery being planned in Shanghai .This article gives us a brief introduction of the design andits technology concerned. It also suggests four criteria for selecting coaches. It is considered possible to build rail transit by utilizing the state railway in the urban districts. Furthmore, its location and the distance between stations are also implied.
