  • Yacht have an high powered main engine relatively light hull, so the noise generated from the engine have a bad influence upon the crew and passenger. Recently, cruise yacht is made an attempt by domestic production skill, however the insulation skill of the noise made by the main engine is not satisfy the real purchasing power of the buyer. Like this, yacht cabin's noise level is becoming the barometer to decide the purchase. the method to insufficient. However, if we use the skill of the monitoring equipment and the genetic algorithm system, the circumference of the main engine can be enclosed by an high quality absorbtion wall and the noise levels of the cabins are improved. In this study, the sound absorbtion barrier is experimentally researched by change the volume and the length of the neck for the Helmholtz resonator as the resonator can absorb the noise effectively.

  • 본 연구에서는 균질판, 공기층, 흡음재등이 부착된 다층벽에 대한 음향투과손 실을 전기계의 희로망이론에 근거한 음향4단자법으로 해석하는 이론을 제안하고 여러 가지 다층벽에 적용하여 실측치와 비교.검토하여 제안한 계산법의 타당성을 확인하고 저 한다.

  • As being inconvenient to apply reinforced concrete structure to high-rise buildings. it is applied steel structured system. Therefore light-weight wall systems are applied as partition wall to reduce the self-load of the building. But. the required performances of a light-weight wall are not evaluated systematically. As a field survey result. partition walls of house-to-house and room-to-room were not showed their respected performances. so the dwellers are feel so worse the quality of the whole building. In steel-structured high-rise buildings especially. occupant's dissatisfaction concerned indoor noise was high because curtain wall systems having a high air-tight performance isolate the outdoor noise making masking effect. Also to suppress indoor air movement. stact effect must be concerned. Therefore wall systems which have high performances of sound insulation and air-tightness are required in high-rise buildings.

Investigation of the sound insulation performance of walls and flanking noises in classrooms using field measurements (현장실험을 통한 학교교실의 벽체 차음성능 및 측로전달소음 조사)

  • In USA and UK, the standards of both reverberation time and background noise level have been established for the appropriate aural environment in classrooms. In order to realize this, guidelines for architectural planning and interior finishing have been also suggested. However, in Korea, there has hardly been any guidelines for satisfying background noise criteria and investigation about sound insulation performance of current walls of classrooms. The present study investigates the structure of outer wall and walls between classrooms of two middle schools in order to analyze the sound insulation performance against both exterior and interior noises. Acoustic parameters including transmission loss, standardized sound level difference, and signal to noise ratio have been measured and analyzed for sound insulation performance of walls and flanking noises. As a result, concerning the walls in between classrooms, it was found that walls of dry construction have greater sound insulation performance rather than the walls of wet construction especially in mid and high frequency bands. Also, It was revealed that thermopane, insulated pair glass, of outer walls, has greater sound insulation performance than the double window consisted of two single pane glass. Regarding flanking noises, the standards were exceeded when all windows, or windows and doors front onto corridor were opened. It denotes that students could be disturbed with the sound transmission by the interior noises.

Noise Protection Roof: Partial Opening Effect for Noise Reduction (철도용 터널형 방음벽 개발연구: 설계 방향)

  • In the present study, a tunnel type soundproof wall with partial opening is proposed to reduce the environmental noise caused by railway vehicles traveling on bridges, which affects residents of high-rise apartment buildings; the study also attempts to minimize load due to wind and the weight of the wall. Applying the principles of computational fluid dynamics and structural mechanics, and the ray tracing method, a reduction in noise as well as of the overall weight of the soundproof walls is estimated. Analysis results show that the proposed soundproof wall with a partial opening weighs less, while reducing the wind loading by up to 30%. To prevent direct propagation of sound through openings in the wall, an acoustic louver, which is a type of silencer, could be considered for the opening. In order to achieve a similar noise effect with existing insulation material, the fluid flow and the insulation effect of the acoustic louver are analyzed. As the considered opening is in the range of 30~40% of the total length of the soundproof wall, the noise effect and wind load are reduced by 10dB and 25% respectively. Consequently, opening some part of tunnel type soundproof walls and installing louvers on the wall openings can have the effects of weight-reduction and reduced wind load. If a partial opening is applied with proper sound material application, a gain of an additional 5~10dB of noise reduction can be achieved.

A Study on the Soundproofing Plate Techniques for Noise Reduction of Power Transformers (전력용 변압기 소음저감을 위한 차음판 기술에 관한 연구)

  • According to the increase of power demand and expansion of downtown, it is necessary to install transformers additionally in operating substations and construct substations in residential area. But the public complaint has been increased due to the transformer noise of the substation. KEPCO has used a vibration preventing pad, various soundproof walls and an enclosure to transformers in outdoor substations, and a soundproof door, shutter and wind-path soundproof equipment in indoor substations to block the sound propagation from the transformers. But these noise reduction methods are not satisfied. It should be considered to reduce transformer noise itself. To shut out sound emitted from transformers, we developed a soundproof technology that wall up reinforcing bar by steel sheet. For the practical application of it, we analyzed the vibration characteristics of a transformer tank and reduction of noise according to soundproof plate. As a result, it is confirmed that the technology can reduce 11 [dB] of transformer noise.

Sound Insulation Properties of Polymer Soundproof Panels (폴리머 계열 방음패널의 차음특성 비교 분석)

  • It is widely known that the sound insulation of soundproof panel is highly correlated to two factors, surface density of material and the frequency of noise. Accordingly, the character of traffic noise released in actual situation is important requisite for determining thickness to determine surface density and material of soundproof panel. This present study selected polymer panel with advantage of light weight and workability and evaluates according to frequency of traffic noise. Polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) were selected as subjects based on economic valuation and efficiency. The sound transmission loss of selected polymer panels were compared with the currently used panels such as polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) depending on thickness and materials. As a result, PC showed the highest sound transmission loss followed by PMMA, HDPE, and PP in range of mass law. In terms of acoustic performance on thickness, the transmission loss increased with thickness of soundproof panel meanwhile coincidence dip was observed in lower frequency where had reduced transmission loss. Therefore, it is suggested that after determining target frequency, the kind of materials and thickness of soundproof panel need to be designed so that traffic noise can be more efficiently reduced.

저소음 도로 표면 개발의 필요성

  • 본 글에서는 현재 유럽과 우리나라와 유사한 도로사정을 가진 일본, 홍콩 에서 행해지고 있는 타이어/도로 소음에 관한 연구 실태와 그 자료를 소개함으로써 자동차 자체의 소음뿐 아니라 환경 소음 관절에서 간과할 수 없는, 타이어/도로 소음에도 관심을 가져야 할 이유를 제시하였다. 본문에서 살펴본 각 국의 노력과는 별도로 유럽 공동체(EC)는 1991년에 타이어/도로 접촉에 의해 발생하는 소음을 제한 할 수 있는 기준이 1995년 10월 이전에 결정될 수 있다고 발표하고 있으며, 이에 따라 도로 표면과 자동차의 종류에 따른 소음 측정 방법에 대한 표준을 연구하기 위하여 ISO내에 ISO/TC 43/SC 1/WG 33라는 그룹이 1991년 설립되었다. 이와 같이 유럽에선 과거부터 행해온 실제도로 표면에 대한 연구뿐만 아니라 미래를 내다본 제도적인 측면에 까지 관심을 가지고 있음을 알 수 있다. 지금까지 언급한 바와 같이 다공성 도로 표면에 따른 초기 소음 감소량이 5dB(A) 이상이고 도로 수명이 다함에 따라 그 감소량은 0dB(A)가 된다. 그러나, 이 소음 감소량은 저소음 도로 표면에 대한 연구 동기를 제공하기에 충분한 가치가 있다고 생각된다. 이제 국내에서도 자동차 자체의 소음의 제어나 차음벽의 설치뿐 아니라 조소음 도로 표면에 대한 연구 가 병행되어야 할 것이다.

An experimental analysis of the sound reduction characteristics of air transparent noise barriers (통기형 방음벽의 음향감쇠 특성에 대한 실험적 분석)

  • The present study describes the acoustical characteristics of the new noise barriers which can control not only noise but also wind pressure by allowing air flow through barriers. In order to investigate the sound reduction index of the air transparent noise barrier, 17 models in total were examined with various size of openings and the volume of the resonators. As a result, it was found that the sound reduction index varies with the volume of the resonator and the area of the openings. Also, it was revealed that double layer of units has more sound reduction index than the single layer of unit at the frequency band from 400 Hz to 1250 Hz. This denoted that physical features of openings and resonators affect the sound reduction index of the air transparent noise barrier.

  • The nitrogen oxidized substance(NOx) from cars in city is one of serious air-polution problems. In advanced country, the powder or the liquid photocatalystic for asphalt pavement and noise barrier have been used to reduce the air-polution. In this paper, the effect of photocatalystic on asphalt pavement has been evaluated, especially for UV optical science reactions analyzed NOx purification efficiencies of the automobile waste gas. Judging from the limited lab-scale test, the use of the powder or the liquid photocatalystic is one of alternatives to reduce the NOx from automobile.
