Analysis of Highly Directional Sonar Communication System (고지향 소나 시스템 통신 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we present novel analysis results of sonar communication using parametric array. We consider transducer diameter, primary frequency, difference frequency and acoustic power as analysis parameters of communication performance. We calculate theoretical BER(Bit Error Rate) and channel capacity of MIMO(Multi Input and Multi Output) communication system. By considering practical parameters, we obtain optimum difference frequency generation condition. The obtained primary frequency is 560 kHz, difference frequency 45kHz and acoustic power is 28.05Watt. For BER of $10^{-4}$, the range gain of parametric array communication is 3.35km compared to primary frequency communication. For channel capacity of 10bps/Hz, the SISO and $2{\times}2$ MIMO communication range of parametric array communication are 3.8km and 3.98km respectively, while primary frequency communication range is 0.83km.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel Vehicular Ad-hoc Network(VANET) which includes communication and ranging features, using Spread Spectrum(SS) multi-carrier modulation scheme. In existing methods, a spread spectrum technique was used to communicate with other vehicles and raging was possible by detecting phase difference between transmission/reception of the PN signal. However, the use of high-speed PN signals is mandatory to detect possible errors of phase difference and to increase the analysis capacity. In the proposed system, multi-carrier modulation scheme was used as solution of mentioned problem. The multi-carrier modulation scheme uses smaller PN signal and chip-rate than the single-carrier modulation, so it is possible to send multiple carrier waves using the same frequency range. This technique (multiple carrier waves) allows to have the Equal Gain Combing (EGC) diversity effect, providing better result in phase difference error detection and raging accuracy.

  • It was verified that the effect of the distance between current input point and output point on direct current potential drop (DCPD) in the material with two-dimensional surface notch. If the distance between potential drop measuring points was fixed at a certain distance, the potential drop was decreased with increasing the distance between current input and output points. DCPD technique was a useful method for surface crack sizing because the potential drop was proportional to the length of notch. In this paper, we suggest a statistical model to describe the data and want to find a significant variables to effect to potential drop. We use R program to analyze the data.

  • We propose a two-stage document layout segmentation method. At the first stage, as top-down segmentation, morphological distance map algorithm extracts a collection of rectangular regions from a given input image. This preliminary result from the first stage is employed as input parameters for the process of next stage. At the second stage, a machine-learning algorithm is adopted RBF network, one of neural networks based on statistical model, is selected. In order for constructing the hidden layer of RBF network, a data clustering technique bared on the self-organizing property of Kohonen network is utilized. We present a result showing that the supervised neural network, trained by 300 number of sample data, improves the preliminary results of the first stage.

  • 공간-시간 부호(Space-Time Code)는 다중 안테나 시스템에서 기존의 기술에 비해서 부가적인 대역폭이 필요 없이 부호화 이득을 얻을 수 있다. 지금까지 공간-시간 부호(Space-Time Code)는 다이버시티 이득의 관점에서는 신호행렬들의 차가 완전-계수(Full-Rank)를 가져야 하고, 코딩 이득의 관점에서는 신호행렬들의 차의 determinant 값이 최소값을 가져야 한다. 본 논문에서는 공간-시간 블록 부호 디자인(Space-Time Block Code) 관점에서 직교-디자인(Orthogonal-design) 즉, 최소거리가 5이면서 완전-계수(Full-Rank)인 디자인을 비교대상으로 완전-계수(Full-Rank)가 아니면서 최소거리가 5와7인두 부호에 관하여 연구되어졌다.

  • 본 논문에서는 GIS를 이용하여 국내 고병원성 조류인플루엔자(HPAI) 발생 농가를 대상으로 HPAI 감염 및 확산에 영향을 미치는 여러 인자와의 연관성을 분석한다. 인자는 크게 철새에 기인한 1차 감염과 사람에 기인한 2차 감염으로 나눈다. 전자는 철새 이동경로, 철새 도래지, 후자는 고속도로, HPAI 발생 농가 간 거리를 분석한다. 분석 시 거리는 500m(관리지역), 3km(보호지역), 10km(예찰지역)으로 설정하고, ArcGIS 프로그램을 사용하였다.

  • RF energy harvesting technology is a promising technology for generating the electrical power from ambient RF signal to operate low-power consumption devices(eg. sensor) in wireless communication networks. This paper, motivated by this and building upon existing CR(Cognitive Radio) network model, proposes a optimal control policy for RF energy harvesting CR networks model where secondary users that have low power consumption harvest ambient RF energy from transmission by nearby active primary users, while periodically sensing and opportunistically accessing the licensed spectrum to the primary user's network. We consider that primary users and secondary users are distributed as Poisson point processes and contact with their intended receivers at fixed distances. Finally we can derive the optimal frame duration, transmission power and density of secondary user from the proposed model that can maximize the secondary users's throughput under the given several conditions and suggest future directions of research.

  • 본류와 지류가 만나는 하천 합류부에서 발생하는 복잡한 흐름 구조는 하상변동에 영향을 주며, 본류와 다른 특성을 보이는 지류의 유입은 수질과 수생태계에도 영향을 준다. 합류부는 하천 변화의 다양성을 보이기 때문에 하천 관리 측면에서 중요한 구간으로, 흐름 및 혼합 특성 이해가 중요하다. 합류부에서의 흐름 및 혼합은 본류와 지류의 유량비, 밀도차, 단차, 합류각, 하도형상 등의 영향으로 그 양상이 달라지며, 흐름장 및 두 수체에 의한 이송물질의 혼합이 이루어졌다고 간주하는 혼합거리는 지류가 본류에 미치는 영향 범위 분석을 위한 중요한 매개변수이다. 본 연구에서는 합류부 흐름에 미치는 주요 인자 중 유량비와 밀도차가 합류부 흐름 및 혼합에 미치는 영향을 수치해석을 통해 분석하고, 조건의 변화에 따른 혼합거리를 예측해 보고자 한다. 본 연구의 대상 지역인 낙동강-황강 합류부는 다기능보와 댐의 운영에 따라 유입 유량 및 유량비가 조절되며, 여름철에는 황강의 수온이 낙동강보다 평균 4℃ 이상 낮으며, 9℃(지류 20℃; 본류 29℃) 이상의 수온차가 발생하기도 한다. 이 경우 밀도비는 0.998로 밀도류가 발생할 수 있는데, 밀도류가 발생할 경우 수표면과 저층이 분리되어 흐르기 때문에 동일 유량 조건에서도 혼합 양상은 달라진다. 밀도류가 발생하기 위해서는 수표면과 저층이 분리되는 성층이 발달해야 하는데, 이는 유속 또는 유량의 범위에 따라 성층의 발달 여부가 달라질 수 있다. 이러한 현장 조건을 반영한 수치해석을 통해 다양한 유량 조건(유량비)에서 밀도의 차이(수온차)가 합류부의 흐름 및 혼합에 미치는 영향을 분석해 보고자 하며, 합류부에서 밀도차에 의한 흐름의 변화 조건을 무차원수(Richardson number, Densimetric Froude number 등)를 통해 정량화해보고자 한다. 이는 지류가 본류에 미치는 영향의 정도와 범위를 파악함으로써 하천 관리를 위한 관측망 및 현장 조사의 범위 선정의 기초자료 마련뿐 아니라 본류의 수온 변화가 발생할 수 있는 범위의 파악을 통해 수생태계에 미치는 영향 파악을 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The effect of inter-pupillary distance on stereopsis (동공간 거리가 입체시 지각에 미치는 영향)

  • Most 3D display systems heavily depend on binocular disparity to produce 3-dimensional depth of a scene. In principle, the vergence angle of the object on fixation and binocular disparity of non-fixated objects vary with the inter-pupillary distance(IPD) of the observer. However, most stereo systems provide the identical stereo image pairs regardless of the observers' IPD, which may result in variation in the perceived depth. In this study, we manipulated the vergence angle of the fixated object and binocular disparity of the non-fixated object. The range of the individual difference in the perceived depth was found to be increased with the increase of disparity for both the fixated and non-fixated objects, and the individual difference was well fitted by the regression line of the observers' IPD. These results suggest that individual difference in the perceived depth from the identical stereo images should be greatly reduced if the stereo system calibrates the disparity of the object by the observers' IPD in generating the stereo images and the regression line found in this study might be useful in the calibrating the disparity of the images.

A Study on the Estimation of Multi-Object Social Distancing Using Stereo Vision and AlphaPose (Stereo Vision과 AlphaPose를 이용한 다중 객체 거리 추정 방법에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, We are carrying out a policy of physical distancing of at least 1m from each other to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 disease in public places. In this paper, we propose a method for measuring distances between people in real time and an automation system that recognizes objects that are within 1 meter of each other from stereo images acquired by drones or CCTVs according to the estimated distance. A problem with existing methods used to estimate distances between multiple objects is that they do not obtain three-dimensional information of objects using only one CCTV. his is because three-dimensional information is necessary to measure distances between people when they are right next to each other or overlap in two dimensional image. Furthermore, they use only the Bounding Box information to obtain the exact coordinates of human existence. Therefore, in this paper, to obtain the exact two-dimensional coordinate value in which a person exists, we extract a person's key point to detect the location, convert it to a three-dimensional coordinate value using Stereo Vision and Camera Calibration, and estimate the Euclidean distance between people. As a result of performing an experiment for estimating the accuracy of 3D coordinates and the distance between objects (persons), the average error within 0.098m was shown in the estimation of the distance between multiple people within 1m.
