Adsorption of p-Xylene by Expanded Graphite (팽창흑연을 이용한 p-Xylene 흡착)

  • In this study, adsorption characteristics of expanded graphite (EG) were investigated by a series of batch adsorption tests using p-Xylene as a model volatile organic compounds (VOCs). After acid treatment, graphite were expanded at various temperature from $600^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$ for one minute. The optimal temperature was $800^{\circ}C$, where the expansion ratio reached 195 times of original volume. The BET specific surface area of EG was $92.4m^2/g$, which was only 1/10 of granular activated carbon (GAC), however the adsorption of p-Xylene by EG was almost completed within 5 minutes while that of GAC continued for 7 days because the majority of pores of EG was consisted with meso- and macro-pores. According to the Langmuir isotherm analysis, the maximum specific adsorption of p-Xylene onto EG was 24.0 mg/L with the adsorption constant of 7.94. In conclusion, the adsorption capacity of EG was much less than that of GAC due to the significantly lower specific surface area, but the first order kinetic constant was more than 500 times larger than GAC. Overall, EG might be effective where the fast adsorption is required.

Instantaneous GHG Emission Estimation Method Considering Vehicle Characteristics in Korea (국내 차량의 동적 주행 특성을 반영한 미시적 온실가스 배출량 산정방법론)

  • There are lots of variations on speed, acceleration and engine power during vehicle driving. It is well known that Green House Gas emissions by these dynamic driving properties are not precisely estimated by the average speed based emission estimation model which has been currently used in Korea. MOVES are selected as an appropriate transferable model among Micro-level emission estimation models. Based on MOVES, a novel emission estimation model can be used in Korea is developed. In this model, MOVES concept of emission estimation method and the MOVES method of estimating the Micro-level emission rate map is adopted. The results from the proposed model were compared with those from the average speed based emission model. The comparison results show the estimated base emission maps are good to be applied in Korea, but needed to be adjusted to consider the vehicle size differences between the two countries. Therefore, the factors for calibrating vehicle size difference were calculated and applied to acquired the micro-level emission maps for the Korean standard vehicle types.

  • 1886년 고트리브 다이믈러와 칼 벤즈가 가솔린 자동차를 개발한 이후 100여년이 지난 지금 자동차는 비약적으로 진보, 발전하여 현대 산업사회와 개인의 생활에 있어 산업운송수단과 이동수단으 로서 필요불가결하게 되어 밀접한 관계를 갖고 있다. 우리나라 자동차 공업의 역사는 자동차가 사회적, 경제적 효용에 따라 그 생산과 보유대수가 날이 갈수록 증가 일로에 있으며, 자동차의 생산대수는 전세 계에서 년간 약 50,606천대('94년)로서 중요한 국가 기간 산업으로 자리하고 있다. 한편 전기, 전자공업의 발전에 따른 자동차의 Car Electronics가 많이 채용되게 됨에 따라 현재의 자 동차에는 대부분이 전자제어 System으로 구성되어 있다. 최근에는 Micro Processor를 이용한 전자부품이 많이 사용되어 전자파에 대한 문제가 다양하게 발생 하고 있다. 예를 들면 미국 캘리포니아주에서 전자점화제어장치와 연료분사 장치를 설치한 구미의 자동 차가 주행중 28MHz, 28W의 아마추어 무선을 탑제한 자동차가 통과할 때 엔진이 고르지 못한 보고가 있 었고, 화학섬유로된 옷을 착용한 전자부품이 다른 부품에 영향을 주는 사례가 맣아지고 있다. 따라서 자동차에는 여러가지의 전장품, 전자기기를 탑재하기 때문에 자동차 자체에서 발생하는 것과 외부로 부터 받는 전자장해 EMI(Electromagnetic Interference), EMS(Electromagnetic Susceptibility) 가 문제로 되어 자동차 및 부품 maker에 의한 EMC(Electromagnetic Compatibility) 평가의 중요성이 고조되고 있다. 차제무전기, 차제무전기, Car-Radio는잡음방해를 많이 받기도 하지만, 잡음원이 되기 도 한다. 또한 Engine 제어, 차속제어, Brake 제어등에 이용되는 전자제품은 방해에 의한 오동작 또는 파괴가 발생하여 주행기능, 안전성에 문제가 야기되지 않도록 해야 한다. 이러한 전자기 환경은 모두 RF(Radio Frequence)와 자동차에서의 전자파 장해 문제의 원이 될 수 있다. 자동차 및 그 부품의 전자기 방해에 관한 규격화는 1987년부터 괄목할 만하게 진행되어 이에 따른 규제 움직임이 IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission: 국제전기기술위원회) 산하의 하부기 구인 CISPR(International Special Committeeon Radio Interference: 국제 무선 장해 특별위원회)가 전자기 방해파에 대한 측정법 통일안을 제안 하였고, ISO(International Standardization Organiza- tion: 국제표준화 기구) 가운데 TC 22/SC3가 자동차의 전장품에 대한 장해를 논의히고 있다. 특히, 자동차의 EMC에 관한 국가 규격은 국제 규격에서 저술한 바와 같이 특별히 규정된 것이 없고 VDE(Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker: 서독전기기술 협회)와 SAE(Society of Automotive Engi- neers: 자동차 기술자 협회)에서 비교적 활발하고 Jaso(Japanese Automobile Standards Organization: 일본 자동차 표준협회)에서 많이 진행중에 있다. 본 고에서는 자동차의 전자제어에 따른 잡음 발생 요인과 전자파 간섭 관련 자동차 규격과 시험평가 방법에 대해 간단히 소개 하였다.

Measurement of R-134a Leakage from Vehicle Equipped Mobile Air Conditioning(MAC) System (실차를 이용한 자동차 에어컨 냉매 누출량 평가)

  • CFC-12 used in mobile air conditioning(MAC) system has been replaced by R-134a, a type of HFC refrigerant, from 1991 to 1994. R-134a has since been widely used as a refrigerant of a mobile air conditioner. However, it is one of the six main green house gases listed in Kyoto Protocol, which makes it imperative to regulate its emission and develop alternative refrigerants. In this study, the concentration of leaked R-134a was measured using VT(Variable Temperature) shed and Running loss test shed to analyze the level of air conditioner refrigerant leaked in a vehicle. According to the analysis of the concentration of R-134a leaked from a vehicle parked, annual leakage amount of R-134a was in the range of 6.46~13.28 g/yr. The figure was similar with the leakage from the mobile air conditioning system currently used. In a study using the same vehicle model, a vehicle equipped with dual evaporation system had a higher leakage rate of refrigerant than a vehicle with a single evaporation system. It appears that the added fittings and joints of the dual evaporator system led to higher leakage rate. Besides, the analysis of the change in R-134a concentration under various car speed found that more refrigerant leaked under high speed(100km/hr) and but the volume of the wind did not affect to the variation of refrigerant leakage.

A Study for Detecting Fuel-cut Driving of Vehicle Using GPS (GPS를 이용한 차량 연료차단 관성주행의 감지에 관한 연구)

  • The fuel-cut coast-down driving mode is activated when the acceleration pedal is released with transmission gear engaged, and it's a default function for electronic-controlled engine of vehicles. The fuel economy becomes better because fuel injection stops during fuel-cut driving mode. A fuel-cut detection method is suggested in the study and it's based on the speed, acceleration and road gradient data from GPS sensor. It detects fuel-cut driving mode by comparing calculated acceleration and realtime acceleration value. The one is estimated with driving resistance in the condition of fuel-cut driving and the other is from GPS sensor. The detection accuracy is about 80% when the method is verified with road driving data. The result is estimated with 9,600 data set of vehicle speed, acceleration, fuel consumption and road gradient from test driving on the road of 12km during 16 minutes, and the road slope is rather high. It's easy to detect fuel-cut without injector signal obtained by connecting wire. The detection error is from the fact that the variation range of speed, acceleration and road gradient data, used for road resistance force, is larger than the value of fuel consumption data.

  • The aging and declining agricultural population in the modern society requires improvement of the agricultural environment and is one of the representative problems. And since most of the work systems always require a transport work, the ratio of labor consumed in the transport work is very high. Accordingly, many types of transport vehicles are being developed and sold, and in the early days, most of them are powered transport vehicles using fossil fuels. However, it is paying attention to next-generation eco-friendly energy such as hydrogen, fuel cells, solar power, and bio due to the strengthening of international environmental regulations such as global warming and the Convention on Climate Change and the depletion of fossil fuels. Therefore, in this study, the ultimate goal is to develop an eco-friendly, easy-to-operate, safe agricultural electric vehicle that replaces fossil fuels. It was designed with a focus on controlling a wide range of vehicle speeds and securing stability of electric agricultural vehicles. Considering the performance and design, it is composed of a frame, a driving part, a steering part, and a controller system, and we are going to review and manufacture each part. It is believed that the manufactured electric vehicle for agriculture can be easily and conveniently operated in an agricultural society where young manpower is scarce, and can be helpful to the agricultural society through high efficiency.
