Developing Higher-Order Continuum Models for Describing Traffic Flow Behavior at Lane Drops Using Momentum Equation (Momentum Equation을 이용한 차로감소구간 교통류의 Higher-Order Continuum 모형 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a improved high-order continuum model among macroscopic traffic flow models. This study was mainly performed for uninterrupted flow. In the first step, the proposed model described traffic flow at dropped lane. (no exits) It was possible to describe the traffic flow during short-term considering lane change. The proposed model was based on Payne's model. Our model was newly applied to uninterrupted traffic flow in consideration of geometry condition and driver behavior. It is possible to establish efficient control strategies, simulation and assess the effects of geometric improvements using this model. This model was simulated with field data for the actual adaption. The results of the model tests, traffic volume and density is suitably represented. we think that the results in the article can be led to predicting the situation in the near future.

A Study on Isolated Words Speech Recognition in a Running Automobile (주행중인 자동차 환경에서의 고립단어 음성인식 연구)

  • 본 논문은 주행중인 자동차 환경에서 운전자의 안전성 및 편의성의 동시 확보를 위하여, 보조적인 스위치 조작없이 상시 음성의 입, 출력이 가능하도록 한다. 이때 잡음에 강인한 threshold 값을 구하기 위하여, 일정한 시간마다 기준 에너지와 영교차율(Zero Crossing Rate)을 변경하며, 밴드패스 필터(bandpass filter)를 이용하여 1차, 2차로 나누어 실시간 상태에서 자동으로, 정확하게 끝점검출(End Point Detection)을 처리한다. 기준패턴(reference pattern)은 DMS(Dynamic Multi-Section)을 사용하며, 화자의 변별력을 높이기 위하여 2개의 모델사용을 제안한다. 또한 주행중인 차량의 잡음환경에 강인하기 위하여 일반주행(80km/h 이내), 고속주행(80km/h 이상)등으로 나누며 차량의 가변잡음 크기에 따라 자동으로 선택하도록 한다. 음성의 특징 벡터와 인식 알고리즘은 PLP 13차와 One-Stage Dynamic Programming (OSDP)를 이용한다. 실험결과, 자주 사용되는 차량 편의장치 제어명령 33개에 대하여 중부, 영동 고속도로(시속 80Km/h 이상)에서 화자독립 89.75%, 화자종속 90.08%의 인식율을 구하였으며, 경부 고속도로에서는 화자독립 92.29%, 화자종속 92.42%의 인식율을 구하였다. 그리고 저속 주행중인 자동차 환경(80km/h 이내, 시멘트, 아스팔트 등의 서울시내 및 시외독립)에서는 화자독립 92.89%, 화자종속 94.44% 인식율을 구하였다.

  • 본 논문은 ATMS와 ATIS에서 요구되는 교통관리 및 정보제공의 효과분석을 위해, 운전자의 주행 및 경로선택 의사결정과 교통제어에 대한 반응등 운전자 행태를 모의실험에 반영함으로써 교통시스템의 실시간 특성을 모사할 수 있는 모형을 구축하고 이를 기반으로 하는 미시적 교통 모의실험기를 개발하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구에서는 운전자, 차량, 교통망, 검지 및 신호시스템, 교통정보제공시스템 등을 교통시스템의 주요 구성요소로 설정하였으며 운전자 및 차량특성, 차두시간분포와 차량발생모형, 차량주행모형, 차로변경 및 간격수락모형, 경로선택모형을 주모의실험모형을 구성하는 부모형으로 결정하였다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 각각의 부모형들에 대한 최근의 연구결과들을 검토하고, 현실모사 능력과 함께 다른 부모형들과의 연계, 모의실험기의 구현상에서의 적합성 등을 고려하여 적정모형의 선정 및 수정, 새로운 부모형의 구축을 수행하였다. 구축된 부모형을 통합하여 교통모의실험기를 개발하였으며 구축된 모형의 타당성 및 적용성 검토를 위해 현장자료 및 가상자료를 이용한 검증을 수행하였다. 검증결과 모형의 목적인 교통제어 및 정보제공등의 시스템 대안의 평가에 이용 가능한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 본 논문의 연구결과는 교통제어 및 정보제공전략 대안의 평가뿐만 아니라 차량추종 및 차로변경 등의 미시적 교통모형 연구, 동적기종점 통행량 추정, 동적통행배정의 연구에도 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 본 논문의 연구모형은 현단계에서는 현실의 모사 및 분석을 위한 도구보다는 새로운 대안들간의 비교평가를 위한 도구로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 이에 따라 현실모사의 정확도를 확보하기 위한 검증 및 개선이 필요할 것이며, 각 부모형들에 대한 계속적인 연구와 새롭게 발표되는 연구결과를 수용한 지속적인 개발이 필요할 것이다.유기적인 연계에 있음을 밝히고 있다. 건설을 위한 정책적 시사점과 동북아 연구개발정보 Portal 및 APEC APGrid 연구망 등의 구체적인 정보인프라 구축방안을 도출하였다.술 주기를 도출하고, 산업 내 평균 권리 청구 항목 수를 이용하여 각 산업의 기술 범위를 비교하였다. 각각의 동적 분석을 통해 시간에 따른 변화 양상이 관찰하였고, ANOVA 분석을 이용하여 통계적 유의성을 검증하였다. 본 연구는 현재의 기술 패러다임 내에서 Pavitt이 제시한 산업 분류의 근거를 보충 설명하였고 특허 정보를 이용하여 기술혁신의 산업별 유형에 대한 폭넓은 분석방법을 제시하였다.별 시간대별 효과분석을 통하여 정책의 시행여부가 결정되어야 할 것이다. 한편, 화물전용차선의 설치로 인한 물류비용의 절감을 보다 효과적으로 달성하기 위해서는 종합류류 전산망의 시급한 구축과 함께 화물차의 적재율을 높이고 공차율을 낮출 수 있는 운송체계의 수립이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 그라나 이러한 화물전용차선의 효과는 단기적인 치유책일 수밖에 없기 때문에 물류유통 시설의 확충을 위한 사회간접자본의 구축을 서둘러 시행하여야 할 것이다.으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군으로 추정된다. 이러한 사실은 3개 시추공을 대상으로 실시한 시추공 내 물리검층과 정압주입시험에서도 확인된다..   • This study is to investigate the effects of driving anger and traffic congestion on drivers' behaviors. Driving anger is the propensity to become angry while driving, and people differ in the tendency to get angry when encountering frustration and provocation on the road. Individual differences of the propensity contribute to anger on the road and aggressive driving leading traffic vaiolations and accidents. In the experiment three traffic conditions (an open road condition, a bumper-to-bumper traffic condition and a being stuck behind a slower driver condition) were simulated and driving behaviors were collected with RTSA-DS(Road Traffic Safety Authority-Driving Simulator). The results were as follows: Most of high anger drives drove at higher speeds in an open road condition, and in the bumper-to-bumper condition they drove faster and had an higher crash rate, which suggests they did aggressive driving, and risky and unsafe behaviors.

Improving the Performance of a Speech Recognition System in a Vehicle by Distinguishing Male/Female Voice (성별 구별방법에 의한 자동차 내 음성 인식 성능 향상)

  • 본 논문은 주행중인 자동차 환경에서 운전자의 안전성 및 편의성의 동시 확보를 위하여, 보조적인 스위치 조작 없이 상시 음성의 입, 출력이 가능한 시스템을 제안하였다. 이대 잡음에 강인한 threshold 값을 구하기 위하여, 1.5초마다 기준 에너지와 영 교차율을 변경하였으며 대역 통과 여과기를 이용하여 1차, 2차로 나누어 실시간 상태에서 자동으로, 정확하게 끝점 검출을 처리하였다. 또한 남성, 여성을 피치검출로 구분하여 모델을 선택하게 하였고, 주행중인 자동차 속도에 따라 가장 적합한 모델을 사용하기 위하여 Idle-40km, 40-80km, 80-100km로 구분하여 남성, 여성 모델을 각각 구분하여 인식할 수 있게 하였다. 그리고, 음성의 특징 벡터와 인식 알고리즘은 PLP 13차와 OSDP(one-Stage Dynamic Programming)을 사용하였다. 본 실험은 서울시내 도로 및 내부 순환도로에서 각각 속도별로 구분하여 화자독립 인식 실험을 한 결과 40-80km 상태에서 남자는 96.8%, 여자는 95.1%, 80-100km 상태에서는 남자 91.6%, 여자는 90.6%의 인식결과를 얻을 수 있었고, 화자종속 인식실험 결과 40-80km 상태에서 남자는 98%, 여자는 96%, 80-100km 상태에서는 남자는 96%, 여자는 94%의 높은 인식률을 얻었으므로, system의 유효성을 입증하였다.

Effectiveness Analysis of HOT Lane and Application Scheme for Korean Environment (HOT차로 운영에 대한 효과분석 및 국내활용방안)

  • Currently, various types of TDM (Transportation Demand Management) policies are being studied and implemented in an attempt to overcome the limitations of supply oriented policies. In this context, this paper addressed issues of effectiveness and possible domestic implementation of the HOT lane. The possible site of implementation selected for this simulation study is part of the Kyung-bu freeway, where a dedicated bus lane is currently being operated. Minimum length of distance required in between interchanges and access points of the HOT lane for vehicles to safely enter and exit the lane, and traffic management policies for effectively managing the weaving traffic trying to enter and exit the HOT lane were presented. A 5.2km section of freeway from Ki-heuing IC to Suwon IC and a 8.3km section from Hak-uei JC to Pan-gyo JC have been selected as possible sites of implementation for the HOT lane, in which congestion occurs regularly due to the high level of travel demand. VISSIM simulation program has been used to analyze the effects of the HOT lane under the assumption that one-lane HOT lane has been put into operation in these sections and that the lane change rate were in between 5% to 30%. The results of each possible scenario have proven that overall travel speed on the general lanes have increased as well by 1.57~2.62km/h after the implementation of the HOT lane. It is meaningful that this study could serve as a basic reference data for possible follow-up studies on the HOT lane as one effective method of TDM policies. Considering that the bus travel rate would continue increase and assuming the improvement in travel speed on general lanes, similar case study can be implemented where gaps between buses on bus lane are available, as a possible alternative of efficient bus lane management policies.

  • Traffic accidents caused by the attention dispersion are increasing and the behavior of the attention dispersion affects the front-observing rate, road keeping ability, and reaction time for a dangerous situation. Many drivers listen to a radio broadcast and they have to change the frequency for continuously listening a radio broadcast of the specific broadcasting station in case of crossing a boundary of the particular area. In this situation, the possibility of a car accident increases, because the attention dispersion of a driver might be occurred. Especially, the risk of a car accident caused by changing the frequency of a radio is more serious in the highway, due to the high speed of a vehicle. In order to reduce the risk of a car accident caused by handling a radio during driving car, in this paper, we propose an automatic frequency conversion algorithm for vehicle radio, which saves normal system frequencies of primary broadcasting stations in a database and determines new frequency of the changed area using the location information obtained from a navigation system in a boundary of the specific area. After determining new frequency, the proposed algorithm selects a frequency with better receiving rate comparing signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) of two signals corresponding previous and new frequencies.

  • Traffic congestion occurs from drivers' human factors such as driver reaction time, reckless lane change, and inexperienced driving. When Automated Vehicles are introduced, human factors are excluded, resulting in increased average vehicle speed, stabilizing traffic flow, and increasing road capacity. This study analyzed traffic flow changes through traffic volume-speed-density plots, and increased road capacity due to Automated Vehicles. As a result of the analysis, when rate of automated vehicles gests higher, the traffic flow became stable. Additionally, it was analyzed that when all vehicles were automated, the road capacity increased by about 120 %. It is expected that there will be a positive expectation in terms of traffic congestion and traffic demand management due to the introduction of Automated Vehicles.

Study and Evaluation of an Incident Detection Algorithm for Urban Freeways (도시고속도로 돌발상황 감지 알고리즘 개발에 관한 연구 및 평가)

  • A series of accidents, which are non-recurrent and non-anticipated, are called incidents. These incidents make standard traffic flows interrupt, which result in the decrease of road capacity and a number of social and economic costs, such as the traffic congestion and air pollution. In order to prevent the hazard of incidents, domestic and foreign traffic management center are likely to opt auto-sense system with algorithms of auto-incident sense. However, it is evaluated that the algorithms have a low function with frequent wrong alarms, even if they accurately ry to speculate the incidents. In the case of bottleneck which has lack of road capacity, compared with other roads, due to inefficient road structured over-capacity of the demand of on-off ramp, the incidents regularly take place. Nonetheless, it can be more difficult to speculate the auto-incidents sense owing to similar incidents, such as the queue of in-out flows of cars and the change of road line. Throughout this research, the function of the model has improved excluding near road line in the module of the incidents which is based on the auto-incidents algorithms during the sense of the congestion of ramp areas.

A Simulation-Based Investigation of an Advanced Traveler Information System with V2V in Urban Network (시뮬레이션기법을 통한 차량 간 통신을 이용한 첨단교통정보시스템의 효과 분석 (도시 도로망을 중심으로))

  • More affordable and available cutting-edge technologies (e.g., wireless vehicle communication) are regarded as a possible alternative to the fixed infrastructure-based traffic information system requiring the expensive infrastructure investments and mostly implemented in the uninterrupted freeway network with limited spatial system expansion. This paper develops an advanced decentralized traveler information System (ATIS) using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication system whose performance (drivers' travel time savings) are enhanced by three complementary functions (autonomous automatic incident detection algorithm, reliable sample size function, and driver behavior model) and evaluates it in the typical $6{\times}6$ urban grid network with non-recurrent traffic state (traffic incident) with the varying key parameters (traffic flow, communication radio range, and penetration ratio), employing the off-the-shelf microscopic simulation model (VISSIM) under the ideal vehicle communication environment. Simulation outputs indicate that as the three key parameters are increased more participating vehicles are involved for traffic data propagation in the less communication groups at the faster data dissemination speed. Also, participating vehicles saved their travel time by dynamically updating the up-to-date traffic states and searching for the new route. Focusing on the travel time difference of (instant) re-routing vehicles, lower traffic flow cases saved more time than higher traffic flow ones. This is because a relatively small number of vehicles in 300vph case re-route during the most system-efficient time period (the early time of the traffic incident) but more vehicles in 514vph case re-route during less system-efficient time period, even after the incident is resolved. Also, normally re-routings on the network-entering links saved more travel time than any other places inside the network except the case where the direct effect of traffic incident triggers vehicle re-routings during the effective incident time period and the location and direction of the incident link determines the spatial distribution of re-routing vehicles.
