The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of participation in a forest program on the level of depression changes in the participants. Total of 501 university students residing in the middle province of Korea were administered Beck Depression Inventory(BDI). Among them, 32 students were selected as participants of the program based on the scores of the BDI. A 5-day forest program included climbing, sharing experience with others and so on. Pre and post tests control group research design was employed for this study, with BDI measures taken from each of 32 participants on three time frames : 2 weeks before the program, immediately before participation, and immediately after participation. BDI scores were expected to decrease as a result of forest program participation. The study results supported this hypothesis.
The purpose of this study is to develop a group counseling program to improve the learning habits of the elementary school children who experience difficulties learning, because of their wrong learning habits. To achieve it, the sub-elements of learning habits are set by "learning motive & attitude" and "learning technique" A group counseling program composed of the essential factors suitable for each element are srhseqrently, devised to pursue the improvement of learning habits. The study propositions are set as follows: Can the group counseling program improve the learning habits of elementary school children? 1. Can the group counseling program improve the learning motive and attitude of elementary school children? 2. Can the group counseling program improve the learning technique of elementary school children? The subject of this study is the 4th graders of W elementary school located in Gwangju Metropolitan City. After selecting 12 pupils from low scorers after a learning habits test, Each 6 of those are randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group, respectively. In this way, they are pcrticipate in the group counseling program. The group counseling program is consisted of 10 sessions. The program is implemented for six weeks with a 50 min duration per session. As a measuring tool, a restructured test with only motive variables and technique variables, excluding remaining variables, from the Learning Habits Test by Choi Jong-Ryul (1992) is used for pre and post tests. The results of the study is acquired by integrating the statistics from the test tool. Observation of the counselor and testees' thoughts are as follows: The group counseling program affects the sub-elements of learning habits positively, namely learning motive & attitude and learning technique. The program applied in this study is effective in improving the learning habits of the pupils with lower learning habits. Accordingly, this program can be one of the methods to develop effective learning habits, set efficient strategies and exert abilities maximally for the learners, who did not adequately exert their abilities, due to wrong learning habits, while ineffectively learning without knowing effective learning habits. To improve and maintain the learning habits of the elementary school pupils, overall understanding should be backed in order to precisely analyze and identify the learning habits of the pupils. Besides, an association between schools and homes is also needed along with parents' concerns over their children's learning habits at home.
The purpose of this study is to find the effect of group counseling program based on reality therapy that is developed by researcher and to investigate whether the program can decrease the academic stress of elementary school students. For this study, firstly a framework for academic stress decrease programs is established and a program is developed in accordance with the framework. Secondly, in order to verify the effect of the program, both quantitative and qualitative methods were applied to 6th grade students through a academic stress test. Experimental group and control group is composed of 18 students, each. During a two month-experimental period, group counseling program based on reality therapy was implemented to the experimental group for 10 sessions but not to the control group. The program included nicknaming, recreation activities to promote friendliness among participants and other various activities to decrease the academic stress. The results of the quantitative and statistical research are as follows: First, group counseling program based on reality therapy is effective to decrease of elementary school students' academic stress. Second, sub factor(such as perceptions of academic stress cause, symptoms of academic stress)of academic stress is significantly decreased in experimental group. But no significant difference is found in control group. Third, for some sub factor(career, friend-relationship, house-environment, behavior-symptom), an independent-sample test and a paired-sample test showed different results: the paired-sample test showed no significant differences in experimental group while the independent-sample test showed significant decrease of academic stress. The results of the qualitative research based on student commentaries on the program is as follows: First, experimental group students report that the program based on reality therapy was effective to decrease of academic stress. Second, experimental group students' commentaries shows that students could remember the WDEP, 'act' factor and acquire the solution of academic stress. Third, for a group counseling, students reported the interest about positive feedback, searching on themselves, growth of human-relationship. This means that the program developed on this study is suitable for group counseling program. In conclusion, this study proves that group counseling program based on reality therapy is effective to decrease of elementary school students' academic stress by increasing individual internal-control. Therefore, it is necessary that we should develop and apply similar program to elementary school students in other to decrease students' academic stress. school students in other to decrease students' academic stress.
This study aims to verify the influence of married men in their 30s and 40s on smartphone addiction, the mediating effect of depression, and the moderating effect according to age. To this end, samples were set up as a convenient sampling for married men in their 30s and 40s living in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon metropolitan. To verify the influence relationship, mediating effect, and moderation effect of the main variables, we compare the differences in influence by dividing age groups through spss win 25 program Baron & Kenny's analysis, Sobel test, and multi-regression analysis. The analysis results are as follows. First, stress has a positive effect on depression and smartphone addiction, and depression has a positive effect on smartphone addiction. Second, depression has been shown to have a partial mediating effect in the relationship between stress and smartphone addiction. Third, there was a difference in influence between stress and smartphone addiction depending on age groups. Based on the above results, we present policy implications and follow-up research suggestions.
The purpose of the study is both to develope the group counseling program applying Reality Therapy, by which positive body image could be conceived by adolescent women, by helping them identify their bodies as what they are, and then admit their real bodies, and also find out some practical methodologies of self-esteem, and to verify the program to show how effectively this program can be applied to them. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires(body image and depression) from 59 high school girls in Seoul who were selected by criteria of this study, from the 1st of September to 10th of November, 2000. The experimental group participated in the group counseling by applying Reality Therapy with 8 sessions for 4 weeks. Descriptive statistics, homogeneity test, hypothesis testing, reliability were performed statistically by utilizing SAS pc program, and additionally the reaction due to the change of body image by adolescent women was also analyzed. The results drawn through the present study are as follows: 1. A hypothesis that 'adolescent women who participated in the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy may get higher points on body image than adolescent women who did not participated' has been adopted (t=6.73, p=.000). 2. A hypothesis that 'adolescent women who participated in the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy may get lower points on depression than adolescent women who did not participated' has been adopted (t=5.28, p=.000). 3. After applying the group counseling program, the degree of depression for upper group who obtained higher preliminary points on depression has decreased rather meaningfully more than that for lower group who obtained higher preliminary points(t=5.58, p=.000). 4. Reactions associated with positive change in body image of adolescent women who participated in the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy has been shown to be body acceptance, enhancement of self-esteem, and change of value judgment of beauty. 5. The difference in the motivation and attitude of each group has been observed, by analyzing the reactions obtained from those who show the highest change of body image and those who show the lowest change of body image through the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy. According to the present studies, it can be concluded that the group counseling program by applying Reality Therapy has turned out as an effective strategy for nursing intervention for adolescent women, by helping them form positive body images and reducing depression.

The purpose of this study was to identify the experiences of nursing students who used journals for cadaver practice experience. The data were collected between October 26 and October 28 2016. Participants were 20 2-year nursing students with cadaver practice experience at D College in D City. The data were collected from daily sheets by self-reporting their experiences during the cadaver practice program. The participants wrote their experiences anonymously on sheets on paper. Data were categorized and coded by using content analysis. Eight categories and 21 statements were drawn from three domains. The study revealed that participants experienced anxiety, flow, and reflection of cadaver practice. The analyzed domains were 'anxiety', 'flow', and 'reflection'. 'Anxiety' was categorized into 'worry', 'fear', and 'surprise'. 'Flow' was categorized into 'interesting', 'focusing', and 'knowing'. 'Reflection' was categorized into 'dignity' and 'appreciation'. Therefore, It is necessary to provide a group counseling program for seniors who have experienced counseling and cadaver practice for psychological support and anxiety relief of nursing students before cadaver practice. In addition, this study is expected to contribute to the development of a cadaver practice program for nursing college students.
The purpose of this study was to develop a PBL-based career education program and to examine its effectiveness on school children's career maturity. It's specifically meant to prepare a career education program to assist students to get an accurate grip on their aptitude, interest and personality and explore various sorts of occupations in the course of solving authentic and contextual career-related problems. After children's developmental characteristics and needs were analyzed, task analysis was implemented, and the objectives were defined. And then the core of the program, PBL problems were developed, and the validity of the problems were verified Evaluation plans and tools were prepared to assess children's problem-solving process and presentation, and an online learning space was designed. The program that consisted of 10-minute 21 sessions was provided to fifth-grade elementary schoolers for eight weeks. The findings of the study were as follows: The experimental group that participated in the PBL-based career education program showed a more significant improvement than the control group that didn't in career attitude and three career attitude subfactors involving planness, disposition and compromise. And the former made a more significant progress than the latter in career ability and its subfactors including vocational comprehension, self-understanding and decision-making skills as well. As a result of making a content analysis to make up for the survey, the students reported that they were able to get an objective understanding of themselves and acquire diverse and profound knowledge on work and the business world in the middle of solving the given PBL problems related to different areas in group and giving a presentation. In conclusion, a PBL based career education program developed by this researcher encouraged the students to have an objective self-understanding, to have a dynamic interactive discussion with their group members. Therefore the program had a positive impact on boosting the career attitude and career ability of the elementary schoolers. The findings suggested that in the field of elementary career education, autonomous learning attitude and subjecthood are the crucial factors to stimulate school children to explore and create their own future.
A study aims to assess Korean mental health literacy and analyze the characteristics of vulnerable population. This study presented typical vignettes of schizophrenia, depression and alcoholism to 1,197 adults randomly. All respondents were asked for recognition of mental illness, beliefs about causes, professional help and self-help, stigma for receiving psychiatric treatment for the person described. The results showed that the recognition of mental health problem in a vignette was very poor and that personal causes were seen by public as more important than environmental and bio-genetic causes. When the public were asked about various professional therapies and self-help activities, psychotherapy was favored while other professional help were considered to be less helpful than self-help activities. Among professionals, psychiatrist were viewed as most helpful. We used cluster analysis to compare high mental health literacy group with low mental health literacy group(vulnerable population). Vulnerable population were found to be more aged and to live in county area. We proposed government initiated program for enhancing public mental health literacy.
This study examined the differences of academic achievement by social status types through sociometry. This study analyzed 201 students in grade 6 in S elementary school. The social status is classified by 7 (popular, average, rejected, aggressive-rejected, submissive-rejected, neglected, controversial) with academic achievement of each type as dependent variables to figure out the relation between social status types and academic achievement. To classify 5 social status types, a sociometry program developed by Ahn, Ie-Hwan (2007) was used, 2 social status types was classified with experimental condition, and its dependent variable was the score by subjects in the mid-term exam of the 1st semester in 2011. The average values of humanities courses (Korean and social studies) and natural science courses (math and science) were compared by both sexes and 7 social status types. The reference group was average group. As a result, as to male students, N type had the highest score both in humanities courses and natural science courses while C type had the lowest score in both groups. As to female students, P, N, C types had the highest score in both groups with similar range while R type had the lowest score in both groups. This result demonstrates that the academic achievement of students had relatively high relevance with social status. and also, suggestion that how teachers can do to enhance the academic achievement of elementary school students.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of bowel preparation convergence program for colonoscopy. This study used a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. A sample of 75 clients, who were scheduled for colonoscopy, was included. The experimental group was given bowel preparation convergence program including audiovisual education, walking-exercise and telephone counseling. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire and colonoscopy monitoring and were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program. The experimental group reported significantly higher compliance of taking bowel preparation agents and test satisfaction(p=.002; p=.001), lower test difficulty and test discomfort than those of the control group(p=.002; p=.001). There were significant differences in level of bowel cleansing and test time required except compliance of diet restriction between groups(p<.001; p=.001; p=.108). This findings indicate that bowel preparation convergence program can be an effective nursing intervention for colonoscopy. The convergence intervention for diagnostic test is needed to be developed in clinical practice.
