We investigate the crystallographic orientation and strain states of the Ni/Ag ohmic contacts on p-type GaN. The Ag film in the Ni/Ag contact was severely agglomerated during high temperature annealing in air ambient. As a results, after annealing for 24 h, the Ni/Ag contact shows non-linear I-V curve and low light reflectance of ~21% at 460 nm wavelength. High-resolution X-ray diffraction results show that the interplanar spacing of Ag (111) planes is almost same to that of bilk Ag after annealing for 24 hrs, indicating that the in-plane tensile strain in the Ag film was fully relaxed due to the Ag agglomeration.
This study sought to observe systematic relationships through taximetrical analyses by morphological characters among the 10 species, on three species in the virilis section (D. virilis, D. tsigana and D. lacertosa) and seven species in the quinaria section (D. angularis, D. brachvnephros, D. curvispina, D. kuntzei, D. nigromaculata, D. takadai and D. unispina) of the subgenus Drosophila. In the cluster and the cladistic analysis among the members of subgenus Drosophila, 10 species was divided into the 1st group of D. virilis, D. tsigana, and D. lacertosa and the 2nd group of D. angularis, D. brachynephros, D. curvispina, D. kuntzei, D. nigromaculata, D. takadai, and D. unispina. In cluster analysis, the 2nd group had three sister groups; one sister group that clustered D. angularis and D. brachynephros then D. unispina was clustered to them, another sister group clustered D, curvispina and D. takadai then D. kuntzei was clustered to them and the other sister group of D. nigromaculata. In the 10 species, D. virilis and D. lacertosa were the first to be divided and then D. tsigana. Although 1st group which D. virilis was belonged can be determined as more primitive than the 2nd group, it seemed that this group was not the direct ancestor of the 2nd group, rather there should be another ancestor. Among the quinaria species group, D. nigromaculata was the first to be divided and D. kuntzei was the most recent species to be divided.
This study reports the results about the petrography of volcanic rocks in Namoo island and Namhyeongje island, off the southern coast of Busan City. The rocks in the Namhyeongje island composed of dacitic crystal-vitric welded tuff, showing phenocrysts of plagioclase, rock fragment with flow structure of elongated and flattened pumice fragments. In thin section it shows pyroclastic texture. The volcanic rocks in Namoo island are mainly dark grey-bluish dacite with phenocrysts of plagioclase and gradually changed to pink-greyish rhyodacite with auto-brecciated. In the northeastern part of the island, the volcanic rocks occurred as aggromerate with a poorly sorted mixture of blocks, lappili and ash and felsic feeder dike intrude the aggromerate. Major element composition of the volcanic rocks in Namhyeongje island and Namoo island are $SiO_2$ 73.6~74.4 wt.% and 65.5~68.3 wt.%, respectively. The volcanic rocks in these island are felsic volcanic rocks.
The relationship of zooplankton communities and distributions of copepods as indicator species to environmental variables, such as temperature, salinity, chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total inorganic nitrogen (TIN) was studied in Pusan Harbor in October 1990 and January, April and July 1991. Zooplankton communities were analysed by using cluster analysis and species diversity index. Four groups of copepods as indicator species were Acrocalanus gacilis, Euchaeta plana, pareuchaeta russell and Pleuromamma gracilis as the oceanic warm water species; Cemtropages abdominalis as the neritic cold water species; Meridian lucens as the oceanic cold water species Acartia omorii as the polluted water species. the offshore waters of Pusan harbor was dominated by the oceanic warm water species in October and by the neritic cold water species in January and April. This area showed the low values of COD and Tin. the inshore waters of Pusan harbor, where the high values of cod And Tin and the low value of diversity were recorder was represented by A.. omorii. Cluster analysis of the zooplankton community revealed two or three regional areas in Pusan harbor. Area I, the offshore area of Pusan harbor, not only was represented high species diversity and low density of A. omorii but also was dominated copepods in zooplankton roups. Areas II and III were grouped horizontally from offshore to inshore of Pusan harbor. Area II was showed intermediate values in diversity, density of A. omorii and percentage composition of copepods. Area III was revealed the lowest diversity, density of A.omorii and percentage composition of Cladocerans.Coperpoda was a dominant zooplankton group in each area during the study periods except two special cases.Area II was dominated by Noctiluca scintillans in April and Area III was occupied by Cladocerans in July.Distribution of Indicator species and areas demarcated based on cluster analysis showed a close relationship with environments.
To examine taxonomic relationships among 53 plums derived from Prunus cerasifera, P. domestica, and P. salicina, principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis on 27 morphological characters were conducted. Of 27 characters, leaf size, leaf shape, and leaf hair were useful characters for plum identification and understanding of taxonomic relationships among them. Leaf length, petiole length, number of leaf nectaries, leaf shape, leaf base, and date of full blooming showed the clear differences between P. salicina group and P. domestica group. Results of cluster analysis using scores of the first three principal components indicated that 53 plums could be grouped into P. salicina-P. cerasifera, P. domestica, and P. spinosa phenon at 1.0 of average distance in UPGMA. Although PCA was useful for rough classification of plums, much more characters were needed for the exact classification.
To study the characteristics of rocky intertidal invertebrate fauna on the coastal areas of the East Sea, seven regions including Dokdo, Ulleungdo, Gyeongju, Pohang, Yeongdeok, Uljin, and Gangwondo, the common species ratio (%) and similarity index using Bray-Curtis similarity matrix were calculated. The contributed species for dissimilarity between Dokdo and the other East Sea's coastal areas were selected by using SIMPER. The common species ratio and the cluster analysis showed that Ulleungdo presented the highest similarity. However, Yeongdeok showed the highest similarity in the eastern costal areas, and Gangwondo showed the lowest one. However the cluster analysis revealed the discrimination of the rocky intertidal invertebrate community on Dokdo with others region caused by the particularity of rocky shores exposed to strong wave action and by the particular distribution of rocky intertidal invertebrate fauna in Dokdo.
A total of 190 phytoplankton taxa was identified in southern waters of the East Sea of Korea in May 1988, July 1989 and November 1991. Leptocylindrus danicus, Nitzschia pungens and Bacteriastrum delicatulum were the dominant species in spring. In summer, Skeletonema costatum was dominant all around the study area but Chaetoceros socialis and Rhizosolenia alata f. gracillima were locally dominant. On the other hand, the dominant species in autumn shifted to Chaeotoceros socialis, Nitzschia delicatissima, Nitzschia sp. and Gymnodinium sp. The average species diversities of the phytoplankton community were low in spring, summer and autumn, being 1.24, 1.69 and 2.12 respectively. The result of cluster analysis in summer suggested that the surface water of this study area could be divided into three phytohydrographic regions which consisted of the oceanic water region affected by Tsushima current, the east Korean neritic water region and the proper water region adjacent to Ulleung island. Compared with the surface phytohydrographic regions, one more region might be recognized at the 40m depth waters. It was appeared in the middle of study area and seemed to be affected by both Tsushima current and water mass of 10$^{\circ}C$ located deeper than 50m.
In document clustering methods, the k-means algorithm and the Hierarchical Alglomerative Clustering(HAC) are often used. The k-means algorithm has the advantage of a processing time and HAC has also the advantage of a precision of classification. But both methods have mutual drawbacks, a slow processing time and a low quality of classification for the k-means algorithm and the HAC, respectively. Also both methods have the serious problem which is to compute a document similarity whenever new document is inserted into a cluster. A main property of web resource is to accumulate an information by adding new documents frequently. Therefore, we propose a new method of transitive closure tree based on the HAC method which can improve a processing time for a document clustering, and also propose a superior incremental clustering method for an insertion of a new document and a deletion of a document contained in a cluster. The proposed method is compared with those existing algorithms on the basis of a pre챠sion, a recall, a F-Measure, and a processing time and we present the experimental results.
This study was done to classify the Quercus forests, along with their interpretations of environmental conditions, located in the lower montane zones of Mt. Bakdal, Gyemyeong, Boryeon, Worak, Cheondeung, Joryeong, Gugmang, Buyong, Duta, Malloe, Midong, Gamak, Sirubong, Sipjabong and Yongsanbong in Chungbuk Province, According to the methodology of the Z.-M. schools of phytosociology, the Quercus forests were classified into three communities and two subcommunities A. Quercus variabilis community, A-1. Quercus acutissima subcommunity, A-2. Typical subcommunity; B. Quercus mongolica community; C. Quercus dentata community. These vegetation units were arranged by human interferences and a gradient of environmental complex such as altitudes, and also were corresponded relatively well with the result of cluster analysis(UPGMA), based on the dominance of component species.
