The purpose of this paper was to suggest effective management of clothing department in vocational high schools. Bibliographic research on ten vocational high schools' clothing departments was done. Also a survey was done to figure out what students and teachers think of clothing department education. The results were as follows. There are ten clothing departments in vocational high schools countrywide. 1493 students are enrolled in the department and they are taught by 51 teachers. Each school has two to seven laboratories. Professional subject time assignment of clothing department varies from 82 to 112 hours. Students chose clothing department in order to enter the university and their satisfaction on the department was "fair." Students' satisfaction level of professional education courses was "fair" and they felt difficulties both in theory and practice. Students answered that Embroidery/Knitting courses should be closed and Fashion Coordination be opened. Students were "fairly" satisfied with facilities for practice and felt job training was necessary. Most of them wanted to enter university after high school graduation. Teachers answered professional education curriculum was "fair." They found it necessary to improve the textbooks and felt both theory and practice difficult. They wanted Embroidery/Knitting courses to be closed and Fashion CAD course to be installed. From the teachers' view, students' prospect was better to enter university than to get a job. Teachers suffered from too much teaching-unrelated workload and wanted the number of teachers to be increased. Considering the above results, vocational high schools should concentrate their efforts on making students continue to study by extending the way to enter the same department of university as department of vocational high schools. In addition, they should develop various practice programs through field practice and educational-industrial relationship to help students get jobs. Both teachers and students think that the clothing department curriculum is difficult now. Therefore, the level of the curriculum should be adjusted. Finally, it was necessary to increase the number of teachers and to carry out teachers' training to raise quality in education.
The aim of this paper is to explore and understand, using in-depth interviews, the participant's enthusiasm for and involvement in studying mathematics and the deeper nature of his/her interest in mathematics teaching. In addition a larger aim is to understand how the individual's interest in mathematics and teaching are linked to his/her larger personal fulfillment. We conducted in-depth interviews with 4 pre-service teachers' subjective experiences focusing on deep motivation, pedagogical content knowledge, inner vision. Interviews focus much more on the participant's spontaneous feeling, consciousness, and state as these arise in the interview, and on past foiling, consciousness and state as they appear to the participant subjectively retrospectively in his/her memory. The output of this research consists of 2 portraits out of 4 individual participants, highlighting and conceptually developing the specific aspects under study; different ways in which individuals' involvement with the subject area affects their motivation, inner visions and academic efforts toward becoming teachers. Larger aspects of pre-service teachers' subjective experiences were sketched by contrasting the two cases. Several suggestions were put at the end to enhance mathematics education concerning curriculum development.

The purpose of this study was to compare the self-esteem and professionalism of dental hygiene students according to an educational system(three-year course and four-year course). The subjects in this study were 579 dental hygiene students in Chungcheong Province, on whom a survey was conducted. The findings of the study were as follows: The result on self-esteem and professionalism rate according to their satisfaction level towards the course shows that self-esteem of those who answered "satisfied" 3.02 in three-year-course, and 2.96 in four-year-course(p<.05), while professionalism rate of those who answered "satisfied" reach 2.97 in three-year-course and 2.93 in four-year-course(p<.05). As to self-esteem by motivation of choosing the department, the students who chose the department in hopes of being well paid had the best self-esteem both in the three-year-course colleges(3.18) and four-year-course universities(3.02). In terms of professionalism, those who chose the department in consideration three-year-course colleges, and the students who wanted to get a lifelong job(3.29) were most excellent in the four-year-course universities(p<.01).
The purpose of the present study is to determine antecedents in the area of subject matters and to compare these factors between average student group and gifted student group, based on the implicit theory proposed by Sternberg(1993). The average group consisted of 350 primary school students (boy 172; girl 178) from a primary school and 380 middle school students (boy 221; girl 159) from a middle school in Taejeon Metropolitan City. The gifted group consisted of 181 primary school students (boy 130; girl 51) and 154 middle school students (boy 92; girl 62) from the Center for the Gifted Education of the Kong Ju National University. A questionnaire was developed by the authors. It consisted of 30 research questions related to reasons why they studied those subject matters hard. It took about 40 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Several exploratory factor analyses and confirmative analyses were conducted. The main results obtained were as follows: The subject matters all the students of the present study were English and Math. The main reasons why they studied those subject matters hard were interest, utility, competition, self-esteem, entrance examination, recognition, punishment avoidance, etc. A factor analysis revealed that, for the elementary school students, recognition and interest were factors for the average students, whereas knowledge acquisition was an unique factor for the gifted. Utility was common factor for both groups. A factor analysis revealed that, for the middle school students, knowledge acquisition was the main factor for the average students, whereas competition was the unique factor for the gifted. Recognition, interest, and utility were common factors for the both groups.
This study aims to examine how Science Gifted Education Center(SGEC) affect the decision of graduates of gifted education institute in applying for science-related Special high school. To this end, the study investigated factors that affected their decision on applying for higher SGEC, such as career goal prior to their admission to a SGEC, motivation for the admission, and curricular activities at SGEC. A questionnaire survey was administered on 30 students, and resulting data were used as basic information to construct interview questions. Selected 22 students among them were interviewed separately, with transcripts of the recorded interviews being analyzed. The results of the study indicate that among many factors of SGEC for the gifted which affected student's choice of special-purpose high school of science, activities of the center putting an emphasis on open research activities and social interaction had a positive effect on the students' choice of special high school.
This study investigated results of bilingual learning of mathematics in teaching quadratic functions at an international high school in South Korea. Unlike a Korean traditional public school, this international school has provided bilingual learning. 10th grade students enrolled two math classes, Algebra II that was taught in English through CCSS and High School Mathematics I that was taught in Korean through the Korean National Math Curriculum. In order to collect information on students' behaviors and math achievement, we analyzed students' academic back grounds, mathematical abilities, results of interviews, observations, questionnaires and assessments. The results of this study include specific benefits. Bilingual learning of mathematics is effective as a method to improve Korean students' mathematical abilities and attitudes as well as positive influence on Korean mathematics education.
Objectives : The study was aimed to analyze the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) test-takers' favor of entering Korean Medicine college and their perception toward the Korean Medicine. The study will present information that can be used for university administrator and in medical education field. Methods : A questionnaire was developed, comprising categories about the favor of entering Korean Medicine college, the experience and reason of receiving Korean Medicine healthcare treatment, and the perception toward the Korean Medicine. Face validity and content validity of the developed questionnaire were tested before survey. Then the questionnaires were distributed to 168 CSAT test-takers. Results : The most positive reason of entering Korean Medicine college is the characteristic of job, while the negative one is of the characteristic of the discipline. Respondents who answered as positive toward Korean Medicine are more than those who answered as negative. The most positive reason of receiving Korean Medicine healthcare treatment and perceiving Korean Medicine positively is because of its medical effectiveness. The most negative reason is responded as et cetera in both categories. Conclusions : The results of the survey may indicate that by promoting recent research progresses in Korean Medicine and benefits from choosing a career as medical professions, more CSAT test-takers will have positive attitude toward Korean Medicine college entrance. Also by promoting the medical effectiveness of Korean medicine to CSAT test-takers, more CSAT test-takers will receive or have positive attitude toward Korean Medicine healthcare service.

The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning and essence of the learning experiences of K University students majoring in educational school librarianship. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, an open-ended question-based focus group interview was conducted for 12 major students who had graduated from K University's master's degree course within two years. By analyzing the contents of the answers, 9 themes, 35 categories, and 104 concepts were derived from the learning experience in the master's course. Looking at the main analysis results for each area, the motive for entering the master's course was to acquire a librarian teacher qualification, which is a condition in applying for the employment examination. The Satisfaction with the learning experience was an average of 7.66 out of 10 points. In addition, the most dissatisfied parts during the master's course was the contents of the subjects and classes that were not helpful in the operation of the school library and the employment examination for librarian teachers, therefore the response was that improvement is necessary for the future development of the librarian master's degree curriculum.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of faculty-student interaction, Career commitment on Self-Directed Learning Ability in Later Learner's Students. The subjects of this study were 162 nursing students between the ages of 25 and 64 from 4 universities located in G metropolitan city and J province. The collected data were subjected to t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression using SPSS 24.0 program. As a result of the study, the factors influencing self-directed learning ability were in the order of career commitment, faculty-student interaction, and motivation for university entrance among, and it was found that the variables explained 29.5% of the self-directed learning ability of older nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an intervention plan that can promote self-directed learning ability by improving the level of career commitment and faculty-student interaction of older nursing students.

The study has examined the relationship between the middle school students´ after school activities and leisure satisfaction to provide the opportunity of making good use of leisure time and of developing students´ latent talent and aptitude. The research finding are as follows : 1. Based on socio-demographic variables. the female students had more rates of participation in talent and aptitude educational activity than male students. The number of the students from rural areas was much bigger than that of cities such as Gwangju or other big cities in Chonnam. But the students whose parents made a lot of money showed less interest in participating talent and aptitude educational activities. 2. Based on the research of socio-demographic variables, students from counties or smaller areas showed more satisfaction than Gwangju in leisure satisfaction among the six subordinate categories. 7th graders were more satisfied in educational and environmental leisure activities than 8th or 9th graders. Moreover. as the family income is higher and as the father´s educational level is higher. satisfaction rate from leisure activities came out to be higher 3. In regard to satisfaction they get from their leisure activities, it was comparatively high when they had the activities voluntarily as their hobbies or for fun. Some students regarded it as their chances for the next step and they were really satisfied, too. And also the period of time was one of the factors that affected students´ satisfaction. They were satisfied enough when they had the activities less than four month in a year The students who had strong concentration and great enthusiasm showed high leisure satisfaction in all areas except for the environmental one.
