Energy Conversion System Using Vehicle-Induced Flow For Road Environmental Monitoring (도로 환경 모니터링을 위한 차량 유도풍 에너지 변환 시스템)

  • 도로 환경 모니터링을 위한 센서 노드의 전력원으로 유도풍을 이용한 압전에너지 하베스팅 기술은 기존 재생 에너지의 설치 및 작동 조건에 영향을 받지 않고, 도로상에 주오염원인 자동차에서 발생되는 폐에너지를 활용하는 친환경적 에너지 순환시스템을 구현하는 핵심 요소이다. 차량 유도풍에 의해 발생되는 풍압으로 도로 상의 구조물에 진동을 유발한다. 이 때 발생한 진동 에너지는 압전체를 통해 전기 에너지로 변환, 저장할 수 있다. 이렇게 저장된 에너지는 센서의 구동과 무선 데이터 송수신을 위한 센서 노드의 전력원으로 사용함으로써 별도의 전력원이 필요없게 된다. 본 연구에서는 60km/h로 주행하는 한 대의 차량에 의해 2.7m/s의 유도풍이 발생하여 0.6g로 도로 상의 구조물에 에너지를 전달하게 된다. 전달된 에너지가 압전체를 통해 15uJ 전기에너지로 저장된다.

  • This work is the attempt to give qualitative explanations to complex magnetic phenomena which are observed in the previously proposed magnetostrictive sensor capable of ultrasonic waves and rotational speed measurement. The law of approach is adopted as analysis tool in order to account for some extraordinary output patterns and proved to be effective. The distance between the anhysteretic curve current magnetic state and the variation of anhysteretic curve by stress mainly determine the sensor output shapes and their uniqueness. It is also experimentally verified that the precisely determined bias magnetic field strength can not only remove the unusual output parts but also maximize its sensitivity.

Design of Distributed Fiber Optic Sensor Net for the Detection of External Sound Frequency (외부 음향 주파수 탐지를 위한 분포형 광섬유 센서망 설계)

  • In this paper, to detect external sound frequency on the latticed structure, fiber optic sensor net using Sagnac interferometer was fabricated and tested. The latticed structure fabricated with dimension of 50cm in width and 50cm in height, the optical fiber, 50m in length, distributed and fixed on the latticed structure. Single mode fiber, a laser with 1,550nm in wavelength, 2${\times}$2 coupler were used. External sound signal applied to the fiber optic sensor net and the detected optical signals were compared and analyzed to the detected microphone signals against time and frequency domain. Based on the experimental results, fiber optic sensor net using Sagnac interferometer detected external sound frequency, effectively. This system can be expanded to the structural health monitoring system.

  • The measurement of solid particles suspended in air is conducted with a quartz crystal microbalance. The measurement system is connected to a personal computer and multiple sensors are utilized to make simultaneous measurement possible. In this paper, the detail of experimental setup is extensively explained for the possible future application of the system in other areas. It is found that the measurement system is suitable for an on-line continuous determination of the concentration of solid particles in air.

  • 본 논문에서는 실제 철도 건널목(교차로)에서 발생하는 소음 및 진동, 차량 및 보행자 사고와 같은 위험 요소로부터 발생하는 위험 상황들을 분류하고, 철도 건널목(교차로) 운행 상황을 구현한 모형 철도 주변에 센서를 부착하여 철도 건널목에서 발생하는 위험 요소들을 아두이노 센서로 감지해 데이터를 수집한다. 또한 수집된 데이터들을 활용하여 사용자의 상황에 맞는 철도데이터 운영시스템을 제안한다.

  • Inductive sensors are versatile and economical devices that are widely used to measure a wide variety of physical variables, such as displacement, force, and pressure. In this paper, we propose a simple inductive sensor consisting of a thin partial ring and a coil set. The self-inductance of the sensor was estimated using magnetic circuit analysis and validated through finite element analysis (FEA). The natural frequency of the ring was estimated using Castigliano's theorem and the method of equivalent mass. The estimation was validated through experiments and FEA. A prototype sensor with a signal processing circuit is built and applied to noninvasively sense the pressure inside a flexible tube. The obtained sensor outputs show quadratic behavior with respect to the pressure. When fitted to a quadratic equation, the least-square measurement error was less than 2%. The results confirm the feasibility of pressure sensing using the proposed inductive sensor.

  • Leakages at plant structures of power and petrochemistry plants have led to casualties and economic losses. These leakages are caused by fatigue failure of pipelines and their wall thickness. Vibration measurement methods for plant pipelines mainly use acceleration and laser sensors. These sensors are difficult to install and operate and thus lead to an increase in operational cost especially for wide area surveillance. Recently, measurements of leak and vibration displacements using cameras have attracted the interest of many researchers. This method has advantages such as simple installation, long distance monitoring, and wide area surveillance. Therefore, in this paper, we have developed a system that can measure the leakage and vibrational displacement by using a camera. Furthermore, the developed system was verified with experimental data.

  • 본 논문에서는 풍력발전기의 회전속도센서의 고장 발생 시 고장을 검출하고 회전속도센서의 사용 없이 Sensorless 제어로의 전환에 관한 연구를 기술하였다. 최근 풍력발전은 급속한 성장함에 따라 풍력발전기의 대형화 및 해상풍력화 추세에 있다. 특히 해상풍력발전은 바람 및 설치장소의 제약에서 벗어나는 이점에 반해 염해, 습도 및 파도에 의한 진동 발생으로 센서의 고장 발생률이 높을 것으로 예상된다. 이에 따라 풍력발전기의 회전속도센서 고장 발생 시 이를 검출하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한 회전속도센서의 고장이 검출되면 회전속도센서를 이용한 풍력발전기 제어방식에서 Sensorless 제어로의 전환을 통해 안전하게 풍력발전기를 운전할 수 있도록 하였다. 연구된 제어기법은 PSIM을 이용한 시물레이션을 통해 결과를 검증하였다.
