This paper presents ion-based micro vibration sensor for the ultra-high frequency vibration detection. Presented sensor uses the motion of anion and cation in an electrolyte. Electrolyte vibration sensors have the high shock survival characteristics and a simple read-out circuit because of the small mass and own charges of ions. Presented sensor measures the induced electric potential by the mechanical-electrical coupling. It consist of electrolyte chamber and detection electrode. Electrolyte chamber was fabricated by PDMS molding. Detection electrode was made of gold evaporation on pyrex glass. Size of electrolyte chamber was designed as $600{\times}600{\times}100um$. Detection electrode had 200nm-thick and 42um-gap. In the experimental study, 5.8M sodium Chloride (NaCl) solution was used as electrolyte in 36nl-chamber. Mechanical vibration was measured from 2kHz to 4MHz.

In this paper, a new sensorless vibration control scheme is proposed for a flexible manipulator system. A robust sliding mode controller incorporating with a ‘reaction moment observer’ used for the estimation of the reaction moment reciprocally acting on flexible arm and hub inertia is introduced to achieve desired control target. The rigid body dynamics of the single-link flexible manipulator is simply considered in the design of the sliding mode controller. Then, the reaction moment is estimated by the proposed reaction moment observer to suppress the residual vibration of the flexible arm. The performance of the proposed control scheme is verified by computer simulation and experiment.

Vibration control of a plate using an optical fiber sensor and a PZT actuator is considered in this study. An aluminum plate with attached Extrinsic Fabry-Perot Interferometer (EFPI) and PZT actuator is prepared for experimental investigation. Vibration level of EFPI that can represent the mechanical strain without severe distortion is validated by forced vibration experiment. A numerical model of the plate is constructed based on the experimentally obtained frequency responses, and an optimal controller is designed for the multi-modal vibration suppression. It is found that the vibration level of the first three modes can be greatly reduced. The effect of low-pass filtering used to eliminate high frequency noise on the stability and control performance is also considered.

In this research Sagnac interferometer three different types of mandrel are suggested and this fiber optic sensor is using in monitoring of electric transformer. Vibration characteristics of those mandrels were analyzed and finally more sensitivity mandrel are suggested. Three different mandrels using in fiber optic sensor are hollow cylinder with outer bump, pure hollow cylinder, hollow cylinder with inner bump. Natural frequencies and mode shapes are investigated using finite element method. Mode shape are considered at the frequency range from 2 kHz to 20 kHz. Fundamental dimensions of the hollow cylinder type's mandrel are 30 mm in outer diameter, 50 mm in length, 1 mm in cylinder thickness, $2mm{\times}2mm$ in bump size. Based on the finite element results, when the outer acoustic frequency is near 11 kHz outer bump type and hollow cylinder can get higher sensitivity. Near 17 kHz outer bump and inner bump mandrel can get higher sensitivity. Near 20 kHz hollow cylinder and inner bump mandrel is useful. This results can be applied to design of fiber optic sensor using in monitoring the electrical transformer. Several MHz of outer acoustic frequency can be easily detected using more sensitive mandrel in pursuing expand this technique.
