Feasibility Study on Detection of Crack in Bovine Incisor Using Active Thermography (보빈 치아 균열의 적외선 열화상 검사 가능성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Bovine incisor was investigated using active infrared thermography(IRT) to visualize crack on bovine teeth. An artificial crack was carefully created in bovine incisor sample by compression load of universal tensile machine. While applying a sinusoidal heat wave to the cracked bovine incisor through halogen lamp, consecutive digital infrared images was captured from the sample surface at a frequency synchronized with heat excitation. Phase information of thermal image was calculated by four-point correlation method and processed to produce the phase image of bovine incisor. This phase image showed clearly the crack on the incisor, which was hardly detected in traditional passive thermography.

  • Recently, collapse of structures is frequently occurred, so precautionary measures against accidents are requested. In this study, periodic deformations of structure are surveyed using C.R.P technique and these were used to estimate absolute deformation associated with geodetic network. Also, as compared with inclinometer outcome, correlation of these results was obtained. As a results of this study, a difficult problem of control survey was resolved as control points arranged on intervisible parts of structure. And the transformation parameters for absolute deformation analysis were determined incorporating reference network with control network. This eventually led to possibility for analysis of ground behavior, moreover we were able to overcome a limitation of traditional method that could measure only a part of objects.

수란우의 황체 특징과 혈중 대사물질 수준이 수정란이식 수태율에 미치는 영향

  • 본 연구는 수정란이식기법에 의해 우량 한우 송아지를 대량 생산할 수 있는 기반조성을 위한 한우 수정란이식 최적모델을 개발하기 위해 실시되었다. 본 시험에 공시된 수정란은 우량한 한우의 체내수정란 및 체외수정란을 생산하여 좋은 배반포 수정란을 신선 혹은 동결란 상태로 이식에 공시하였다. 수란우는 정상 발정주기를 가진 경산우로 CIDR을 이용하여 발정을 동기화 하였고 이식시 직장검사로 황체의 크기를 검사하고 초음파진단기로 황체의 구조를 조사하여 정상인 개체에 수정란을 이식하였다. 수란우의 최적 선정조건을 구명하고자 혈중 호르몬 및 대사물질을 분석하였으며 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 총 397두의 수란우에 수정란을 이식하여 121두가 임신하여 평균 30.5%의 수태율을 얻었다. 2. 수란우의 황체의 크기 및 황체내 강 형성 유무와 수태율간에는 차이가 없었으나 혈중 progesterone 수준을 분석해 본 결과, progesterone 수준이 2.0 ng/$m\ell$ 이상일 경우 수태율이 46.6%로 높게 나타났다. 3. 수란우의 혈중 Total cholesterol은 90~110mg/㎗, BUN은 14~16 mg/㎗, Glucose 수준은 70~80 mg/㎗에서 가장 높은 수태율을 나타내어 이들 혈중 대사물질이 수태율에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

The author reviewed the physiology of menopause and discussed the physiological mechanism and biological management of vascular flushing and menopausal depression. The above symptoms are hard to distinguish from those of psychiatric disorders.

  • Recently, the Ministry of National Defense has included embedded software for weapon systems as targets for the Defense cyber security. The Concept has been extended and evolved from the cyber security area that was previously limited to the information domain. The software is becoming increasingly important in weapon systems, and it is clear that they are subject to cyber threats. Therefore, We would like to suggest a improvement direction by diagnosing problems in terms of cyber security of the weapon systems for the life cycle. In order to improve cyber security of weapon systems, comprehensive policy including the weapon embedded software management should be established and the involved stakeholder should be participated in the activities.

  • In this paper, we propose a hierarchical hybrid neural network for detecting faults of induction motor. Implementing the classifier based on the input and output data, we apply appropriate transform and classification method at each step. In the proposed method, after obtaining the current of state of motor for each period, we transform it by Principle Component Analysis(PCA) to reduce its dimension. Before the training process, we use the conditional Fuzzy C-means(FCM) for obtaining the initial parameters of neural network for more effective learning procedure. From the various simulations, we find that the proposed method shows better performance to detect and diagnosis of induction motor and compare than other methods.

  • This paper proposes a method of measuring and visualizing the elasticity distribution of the human soft tissue to detect tumors or cancers which have been difficult to diagnose in conventional medical ultrasonic B-mode images. To measure the stiffness of soft tissue, first, pressure is applied to deform the tissue being imaged, and then the amount of mechanical displacement is determined from correlation coefficients obtained from ultrasonic data downconverted into the baseband. We confirmed the feasibility of imaging tissue stiffness by computer simulation and experiment.

  • Malaria caused by Plasmodium species is characterized by paroxysms of fever, chills, fatigue, anemia, and splenomegaly. Vivax malaria has lately re-emerged as an infectious disease and has exhibited high transmission rate in northern Gyeonggi-do province. We encountered a case of malaria in a child presenting with fever and thrombocytopenia who had recently made a school excursion to Pocheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do. The child was diagnosed with Plasmodium vivax malaria and treated with hydroxychloroquine and primaquine. Here, we present this case with a brief review of the literature.

  • Recently, The non-penetrating injury of bronchus has been increased, especially by traffic accident. Early diagnosis and primary repair of bronchial injury not only restore normal lung function but also avoid the difficulties and complications associated with delayed diagnosis and repair. This report describes about a case of total collapse and consolidation of left lung with the complete transection of nearly bifurcated portion of left main bronchus , lasted for 2weeks after traffic accident. This was diagnosed by fiberbronchoscopy and 3-D chest computed tomography(CT). She underwent the sleeve resection and end to end anastomosis, and postoperative PEEP for 2 days, suctioning twice by fiberbronchoscopy, continue postural drainge and physiotherapy were applied. She had almost full expansion of the left lung at discharge.

  • Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of lung are rare carcinoma arising from the submucosal glands tissue of the proximal tracheobronchial tree. The carcinoma can be divided into low grade and high grade varienties. The most important factors in the prognosis include histological grading and the ability to achieve a complete surgical resection. We experienced a case of high grade mucoepidermoid carcinoma in pulmonary tuberculosis patient of 67 years old male who has been suffered from left chest pain for several weeks. He was not treated and died seventeen months later.
