A Study on the Relationship between Y Generational Characteristics and Customer Orientation - Including Testing Mediating Role of Job Satisfaction - (Y세대의 특성과 고객지향성의 관계 연구 - 직무만족의 매개효과 검증을 포함함 -)

  • The current study aims to demonstrate the causal relationships of supervisory support, workplace fun, job satisfaction and customer orientation of Y Generational service provider in the Korean hotel industry. In order to achieve the study purpose, the data were collected from 284 hotel employees who were born from 1981 to 2000, which is considered as Generation Y. To analyze the data, frequency, correlation, regression, PROCESS Macro and confirmatory factor analysis were undertaken using SPSS and AMOS version 18.0. The results show as follows: First, factor of workplace fun had a positive influence on job satisfaction and customer orientation. Second, factor of supervisory support had a positive influence on job satisfaction but its effect on the customer orientation was not significant. Third, job satisfaction had a significantly positive effect on customer orientation. Lastly, job satisfaction was revealed as a significant mediator between dependent variables(supervisory support and workplace fun) and customer orientation. Eventually, this study found that the more workplace fun and job satisfaction employees have, the higher customer orientation they show. Supervisory support was revealed as an indirect factor to enhance customer orientation through job satisfaction.

A Case Study of Cross-Media Storytelling : Remediation of Webtoon to Drama Series (크로스미디어 스토리텔링 사례 연구 -웹툰 <미생>의 드라마 <미생>으로의 재매개-)

  • With the growth of media platforms and fierce competition in the media market, there have been focus on cross media storytelling, a remediation of content already proven successful to another type of medium. In particular, webtoons have emerged as being successful source media, and this study analyzes how the webtoon 's narrative is expanded and transformed in the remediation process into TV drama. The results showed that, the webtoon , which was targeted at a relatively more specific audience, objectively described stories of the life and hardships of an office worker through a contractual employee at a trading company navigating work life based on strategies of Baduk; while the TV drama version, which aims to appeal to a broader audience, strengthened popular narratives with topics of social issues such as 'hardships of the non-permanent employee', 'sexual discrimination and sexual harassment in the workplace', 'difficulties of a working mom', and 'romance between new colleagues'. In addition, in order to create dramatic enjoyment, the drama's storytelling strategy incorporated conflicts by creating confrontational relationships among good and evil characters, and added humanism and comedic effect.

A Study on Relationship among Restaurant Brand Image, Service Quality, Price Acceptability, and Revisit Intention (레스토랑의 브랜드 이미지와 서비스품질ㆍ가격수용성ㆍ재 방문의도와의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the effect of restaurant brand image upon service quality, price acceptability, and revisit intention, and to propose the importance of brand image to operators and managers who manage restaurants. To accomplish the purpose of this study, sampling was taken among customers who visit six deluxe hotels and six family restaurants in Seoul. Six hundreds questionnaires were distributed to each hotel and restaurant and 487 valid samples were selected for statistical analysis. The questionnaire consists of 77 items about demographical characteristics, brand image, service quality, revisit intention, price acceptability, and spending patterns. SPSS WIN 10.0 was used for statistical analysis. A research model was built up and three null hypotheses were established. Based on theses research model and three null hypotheses, the test was conducted, and the results are as follows. Brand image has an effect upon service quality, and furthermore this can be preceding variable of service quality. Also Service quality has an effect upon price acceptability and revisit intention.
