Prepubic Urethrostomy for Surgical Correction of the Urethral Stricture and Rectourethral Fistula after Perineal Urethrostomy in a Cat (고양이에서 회음부 요도개구술 후 발생한 직장요도 루 및 요도 협착의 외과교정을 위한 치골 요도개구술 증례)

  • A 2-year-old, castrated male domestic short-haired cat was presented with dysuria. The physical and radiographic examinations were revealed the urethral stricture and rectourethral fistula after perineal urethrostomy (PU). A prepubic urethrostomy was performed to resolve these problems. After the treatment, the cat had normal urination and complete wound healing without any complications. This is the first case report on co-occurrence of the urethral stricture and rectourethral fistula after PU in the cat.

  • Employee's workplace satisfaction of claim adjusting company, who assesses the loss of catastrophe, have a direct influence on the loss evaluation job. Eventually their satisfaction would affect the compensation satisfaction of victims, therefore it is one of important factors for victims's compensation satisfaction. This paper analyzes empirically the determinants of employee's satisfaction to their firm for a claim adjusting company. As a result of the empirical research, it is found that the statistically significant determinant are the psychological factor, the organizational factor, and the individual factor. Among the significant factors, the psychological factor has the biggest positive factor. And the organizational factor and the individual factor is next with similar positive measurement. But the cognitive factor is not statistically significant. A claim adjusting company may use the research result for the improvement of employee's workplace satisfaction.

The Effects of Workplace Incivility, Burnout and Teacher Efficacy on Job Satisfaction in Nursery Teachers (보육교사의 직장 내 무례, 소진과 교사효능감이 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of workplace incivility, burnout and teacher efficacy on the job satisfaction of nursery teachers. Data were collected from 271 nursery teachers on WIS, MBI, TES and JSS, which then were analyzed using correlation and multiple regression. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, workplace incivility was negatively related to total job satisfaction and four job facets except pay/promotion. Second, burnout was negatively related to total job satisfaction and four job facets except work condition. Third, teacher efficacy was positively related to total job satisfaction and four job facets except work condition. Fourth, workplace incivility had a stronger relationships with the job satisfaction than burnout and teacher efficacy. The above findings imply that workplace incivility is an important variable of human relationship and is a good predictor of job satisfaction in nursery teachers.

Job Mobility of the University Graduates Youth In Korea (대졸 청년층의 노동이동 분석 - 인문사회계와 이공계 졸업자를 중심으로 -)

  • This study examines the job changes of the youth university graduates in Korea. The pattern of job changes get observed in the Unemployment Insurance Database. This data enables us tracing all job changes in the labor market. The average number of job youth graduates have for four years from graduate is 1.68. The more jobs youth have, the longer total tenure youth have. Youth are much more likely to change careers to different occupation or industry. They move usually into upper occupations but small establishments. They enhance the level of wage through job changes. The science and engineering graduates are more likely to change jobs than the humanity and social science graduates. The higher the level of wage they get is, the lower the probability of their job change is. Those who have good scores in Scholastic Aptitude Test are less likely to change job.

Factors Influencing on Rectal Cancer Screening (직장암 검진에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석)

  • 본 연구는 직장암 검진에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하기 위해 시도하였다. 자료수집은 2011년 1월 10일부터 2월 23일까지 서울에 소재한 건강검진센터에 내원한 환자 211명을 대상으로 설문 및 면접조사를 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 성별의 경우 남성 수검자는 74.2%로 비수검자 31.6%보다 유의하게 높은 분포를 보였다((p=0.035). 둘째, 흡연여부는 흡연자가 수검하는 경우는 47.4%, 비수검자는 25.4%로 두군간의 유의한 차이를 보였다(p=0.006). 셋째, 가족력이 있는 경우가 가족력이 없는 경우에 비해 교차비가 1.95로 유의하게 나타났다(95% Cl=1.69-3.41). 이러한 결과를 토대로 직장암 검진을 위한 적극적인 홍보를 위한 장-단기적인 전략을 세우는 것이 직장암 조기발견을 위한 효율적인 정책이라고 할 수 있겠다.

A Study on the Job Stress of Opticians (안경사 직무스트레스에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study is conducted to evaluate the job stressors for opticians in Ulsan city. Methods: We investigated job stress of 180 opticians working in Ulsan. The results of this study from The Korean standard job stressors assessment tool developed by Korea occupational safety and health agency (KOSHA) was compared with Korean reference value. The questionnaire on the social, demographic characteristics of opticians was also used to find the factors affecting to job stressors by using multiple linear regression analysis. Results: Among the eight fields of stressors, the interpersonal conflict (the median value; 33.4, the measurements; men; 38.8, women; 41.5) and company culture (the median; 41.7, the measurements; men; 47.4, women; 49.3) were higher than the median value of the Korean workers. By multiple linear regression analysis, the significant factors to the interpersonal conflict were the duty, working hours, unmarried, average salary. In terms of the company culture, last school, rest day of month, job career, average salary and working hours were significantly associated to the score of company culture. Conclusions: Based on the results, important factor in the formation of a positive organizational culture through to improve treatment of opticians investigation and mutual horizontal communication systems in the workplace for the manage on interpersonal conflict and company culture.

An Exploratory Research on Causality among Information Technology Stress Creators in Organizations (조직 내 정보 기술 스트레스 유발요인들 간의 인과관계에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the causality among technostress creators. In doing so, we can suggest the ways how to reduce a technostress of employees. Research results suggest that pace of change has a positive effect on the work overload and has a negative effect on work-home conflict. Complexity of technology positively influences not only work overload but job insecurity. Work overload has a significant effect on work-home conflict. Finally, work-home conflict has a positive effect on job insecurity. Conclusions and implications are discussed.

Factors Influencing Job Involvement among Korean Female Office Workers by Marital Status (결혼 여부에 따른 직장여성의 직무몰입에 영향을 주는 요인)

  • The purposes of this study were to compare work-family conflict, job satisfaction, job stress, psychological health, and job involvement of Korean female office workers by marital status and to identify the factors that influence job involvement. Data were collected through self reported structured questionnaire form 171 Korean female office workers by convenient sampling methods form May 20 to August 15, 2011. After adjusting for age, education level, family monthly income, working periods and turnover number, work-family conflict(${\beta}$=0.54, p<.001) and job satisfaction(${\beta}$=0.35, p=.002) were identified as significant predictors of job involvement in the married working women. In the unmarried working women, work-family conflict(${\beta}$=0.22, p=.042) and job stress(${\beta}$=-0.57, p=.001) were identified as significant predictors of job involvement. Therefore, as a strategy for improving job involvement of female office workers, psycho-social nursing intervention will be provided considering the differences by marital status.

Determinants of SNS Use Time Depending on SNS Motive in Youth Workers (청년층 직장인의 SNS 이용동기에 따른 사용시간의 결정요인에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of the SNS usage time depending on SNS motive of the youth workers. Although previous studies revealed that there are many motivations for SNS usage, it is not known which factors determine usage time of each SNS motive. In this study, we constructed the unbalanced panel data of the Korean Education & Employment Panel data. Among three different SNS motives such as information exchange, social networking, and fun pursuit, gender, physical health, extraversion, and conscientiousness affected the usage of SNS when the motivation was information exchange. When it was personal connection, the size of organization, education, physical health, subjective happiness, job satisfaction, neuroticism, and agreeableness did. When it was fun & interest, foreign company, status of children, subjective happiness, and job satisfaction did. Based on the findings, we discussed theoretical and practical implications.
