Skill Set based Competency Management to Strengthen the Capability of Software Development (소프트웨어 개발 역량 강화를 위한 Skill Set 기반의 직무 관리)

  • As industrial software domain is recognizing with one of areas producing high added values, almost software company is running around in securing skilled workers. However, the hiring of software engineers without the consideration of long-term business goals can be caused the lack of manpower again. Also if there is no strategic workforce management plan, it is impossible to gain high performance despite many software engineers have been employed. One of ways to empower the software development capability, this paper identifies the software job functions in detail and proposes how to define the competency profile for the job function. We also propose the career path management scheme using the profile. The proposed workforce management approach which is based on the competency profile, enables to keep the appropriate size of human resources, and to achieve the business performance of software organization.

  • This study examined performance-related competencies for vocational training teachers and development process of Competency-Based Curriculum(CBC). Based on literature review of competencies, education and training of vocational training teachers, we developed competency modeling integrating job analysis, Behavioral Event Interview for vocational training teachers and Competency Dictionary and analyzed validity of competency modeling and competency need and proposed education and training program across competencies and training module. Finally we proposed necessary operating and management methods to effectively develop competencies for vocational training teachers using CBC.

A Case Study of the Evaluation on the Contribution Made by Engineering Colleges to Industry - Particularly in the Field of Semiconductor Technology (반도체분야 공과대학 산업기여도 평가 사례 연구)

  • The main objective of this study is to provide necessary information to improve the college curriculums to reflect the demands from the industry. As a result of the evaluation on the contribution of the engineering colleges to industries, we found out that the knowledge required in the industry was well reflected in contents of college curriculums and the number of college graduates who took the curriculums that contain knowledge and skills required in the industry was very small compared to the number of courses established in colleges. The satisfaction rate on practical application of the knowledge and skills at the work was relatively high. According to the result of evaluating curriculums of different colleges it was found out that the areas where colleges put their key focus were different by schools.

Developing Competency Based Integrated Curriculum for Fostering Sports Marketer in Sports Industry (스포츠마케터 인재양성을 위한 역량기반 융합형 교육과정 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a competency-based convergence curriculum for the development of sports marketers, sports talent in the sports industry. For this purpose, we conducted literature analysis, in-depth interviews and job analysis to derive necessary capabilities to become sports marketers, draw up a capability profile, and then developed a capability model through expert verification. Sports marketers ' capacity models were divided into sport marketing / PR and sports events by type of experience, with six common basic competencies including sports mind and 12 professional competencies including sponsorships. Sports marketers education courses developed based on capacity models are composed of understanding of sports industry, sports marketing communication, sports law, understanding of sports facility, sports facilities management, sports sponsorship, sports media, sports licensing, sports agent, sports event planning, sports event management, make a proposal, sports event field practice. The developed training courses for sports marketers will be used in colleges and private education institutions related to the sports industry, contributing to fostering and expanding sports industry talent.
