A Study on Operational Characteristics of DC protective relay systems on the Subway (지하철 직류보호계전시스템의 동작특성에 관한 연구)

  • The DC over current relay(76i) and the DC under voltage relay(mid-point relay, 80A) used mainly with DC protective relay system of DC electric railway in Korea, But the DC fault selective relay(50F) is applying to recently mainly. In this study, simulation to compare 76i/80A and 50F in the methods of protection and the operational characteristics were executed through verifying a calculation of short circuit current and using PSCAD/EMTDC transition program. As a result of this study, it was proved that while 80A runs in relation to the scale of fault resistance, 50F runs regardless of the scale of fault resistance or the length of rail.

  • 1) 제어봉의 전자 클러치는 직류전원 공급 장치에 의해 12V의 직류 전력을 공급받으며 전압 강하에 대한 내성이 좋다. 제어봉은 10V의 전압이 525msec 이상 지속될 때 전자력 상실로 낙하한다. 완전정전(0V)이 발생하여도 직류전원 공급 장치는 500msec 동안 전자클러치에 직류전력을 공급하여 제어봉의 연결 상태를 유지하도록 한다. 2) 정지봉 계통에 대한 전압강하의 영향은 제어회로를 구성하는 전자접촉기의 개방에 의하여 펌프의 전원공급이 차단되고, 그 결과 정지봉이 낙하한다. 정지봉은 펌프의 전원이 상실되면 수압 실린더의 압력 상실로 약 1000msec 후에 낙하한기 시작한다. 그림 2는 제어봉 및 정지봉에 대한 정전 영향을 시간에 따라 표시한 것이다. 3) 1차 및 2차 냉각계통의 부족전압 계전기에 의해 펌프가 정지할 때까지 저유량 신호 및 N/T mismatch 신호에 의한 원자로 정지신호는 발생되지 않는다. 따라서 정지봉 및 제어봉 계통에 적용하고자 하는 순간정전 보상장치는 부족전압 계전기 동작시간 이내의 보상시간에서만 가능할 것이다.

  • 기존의 디지털 계전기 교육/훈련 방법은 적절한 교육용 소프트웨어 및 기기의 부재로 인해 교육을 받는 훈련생들을 단기간 내에 이해시키는데 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구의 목적은 GUI 환경에서 다양한 모의 고장 발생, 모의 고장 시나리오의 입력, 편집 수정, 삭제가 가능하고 디지털 계전기의 교육/훈련 기능과 함께 훈련 결과의 평가와 훈련일지의 작성 기능을 포함하는 디지털 계전기 시뮬레이터의 개발이다. 본 논문에서는 고장종류, 고장발생 각, 고장거리, 데이터의 샘플수에 따라 EMTP를 이용하여 모의한 후, 디지털 신호 처리를 이용하여 직류 성분과 고조파 성분을 제거하고, 기본파 성분을 추출한다. 그리고 추출된 데이터를 사용하여 임피던스 궤적을 도시하고. 그 결과를 사용자에게 보여주도록 하였다. 특히, GUI 환경으로 구성하여 알고리즘의 수행과정을 보다 쉽게 이해하고. 사용할 수 있도록 함으로써, 교육/훈련의 효과가 극대화되도록 하였다.

Towards reducing acoustical high-frequency noise of a direct current relay via contact structure (직류 계전기의 접촉구조에 의한 고주파수 소음저감)

  • In this work, a straightforward component design of a direct current (DC) relay equipped in electric vehicles is discussed. The work aims to provide and evaluate effective measures for reducing high-frequency sound from the DC relay carrying electric power. From the operation experiments for the relay, it is observed that noise is caused by the resonance from the forced vibration by the electromagnetic repulsive force originating at the area of electric contacts with a resonance frequency of around 710 Hz ~ 730 Hz. A finite element model for the relay was established to conduct vibration mode analysis, consisting of stationary and movable contacts and a contact spring. Vibration mode analysis indicates that in the resonance frequency, the movable contact with two-point contacts experiences rotational vibration mode. For the proposed relay with a three-point contact, vibration mode analyses give reasonable results of reducing noise at that frequency. Furthermore, for the fabricated relays with the three-point contact, similar results have been obtained. In conclusion, one can see that the proposed measures provide one of the feasible solutions to the reduction of relay noise.

  • The DC protection and control device for the feeding system of a Light Rail Transit(LRT) system is developed. For the development, the short circuit characteristics in the system are analyzed. As a result a protection algorithm for the DC fault selective relay (50F) is newly proposed, and principles of the DC fault selective relay, Line Test Device (LTD), DC Over Current Relay (DC OCR) are introduced From the development, the specifications and codes used to be unclear have become clarified and summarized. Moreover, the methods to examine the protective characteristics and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) are established Finally, the performance and the effectiveness of the developed protective relay have been verified with the test based on IEC. For the reliability of the system, the relay has been installed and is being operated at the test track of the LRT system at Gyeong-San.

  • 송전선로에서 발생하는 고장의 대부분은 낙뢰에 의한 상-대지간 섬락이나 외물접촉, 혹은 애자련의 오손에 의한 절연파괴 등이 대부분이다. 그리고 대분의 고장은 큰 고장전류를 흘리게 되어 보호계전기가 동작하여 고장구간을 신속하게 분리하게 된다. 그러나, 본 고장사례는 매우 희귀한 고장 사례로서, 고저항 아크 지락에 의하여 발생하는 과도회복전압(TRV: Transient Recovery Voltage)이 애자련에 섬락을 일으킨 경우이다. 본 연구에서는 EMTP (Electro-Magnetic Transient Program)를 이용하여 고저항 지락시 아크의 단속에 의하여 과도회복전압이 발생할 가능성이 있음을 보였으며, 고장기록장치(Fault Recorder)에 나타난 파형 기록과의 유사성을 확인하였다. 또한, 고저항 지락에 의하여 직류분이 초기에 방전됨으로써 고장전류 파형에 직류분 오프셋이 나타나지 않게 됨을 밝혔다.

  • This study identifies the comparison of Technical specification and Characteristics of DC Protection Relay(ETCPU200) used in DC Distribution System in Korea. ETCPU200 has completed Field Test and approved its capability by finding out causes of recent operations through lately developed digital DC protection relay in parallel operation at Maebong-Substation, Sangbong-Substation, Nakseongdae-Substation, Euljirosaga-Substation, Jegi-Substation and Chongyangri T/P area. It also examines additional features for efficient System Analysis and Operations.

  • Lately, Seoul metro is changing transformation facilities which have been operated in subway line 1 and 2 for a long duration of time. Although the exiting protection relays in DC feeder system have such several functions as 76I, 50, 85, and 64P, the new protective relay have a great variety of functions such as 76I, 76D, DDL-I, DDL-T(Imin), 85, and 64P, as well as record and save various events and accident wave in order to review and analyze the working causes of the protective system. However, because the new digital relays are not used properly for protective propose, there are the cases that the electric accident is deteriorated more. Therefore, in this paper, we will describe that making the use studying installation intention, direction, and setting up value of the protection relay in DC breaker operation not only prevents from making the electric accident worse but also shows the efficient operation method of direct current protection system.
