Development of Simulation Program of Double Cam Driving System for Rapier Loom (래피어 직기용 더블 캠 구동 시스템의 시뮬레이션 프로그램 개발)

  • Weft insertion and Beating mechanism which weaves fabric with completion the pattern of warp yarn and weft yarn in the high speed rapier loom is driven by cam operating method. This mechanism has 4 cams on the coaxial line for driving. These cams form a pair by two. and perform a conjugate motion with each other. By this reason, it is necessary for two pairs to realize the synchronized motion through exact and optimal design. From this viewpoint, to analysis the whole cams' movement and to realize the high speed of rapier loom, I tried to develop the computer aided simulation program. In this study, I would like to introduce the simulation program about above-mentioned 4 kinds of cam mechanism which can display the profiles of 2 pairs of cam mechanism not to speak of mutual relationships of their movement on the monitor.

An Analysis of Container Terminal Facilities Leasing Fee by Assessing Total Sea-Transportation Costs (총 해상운송비용 평가를 통한 컨테이너터미널 전대사용료 분석)

  • This paper first tries to analyze total sea transport costs for the transshipment in Busan Port in comparison with direct transport to 4 Chinese Ports, Dalian, Tinajin, Qingdao and Shanghai, based on vessel operation scenarios. The results found that the transshipment in Busan port for the 4 Chinese ports are more expensive than the direct calling to the 4 ports, which implies that Busan port needs to make compensation as an incentive to the carriers providing transshipment service to it in order to keep their royalty. For the compensation, it suggested a method of calculating the Container Terminal Facilities Leasing Fee to levy additional revenue by port authority.

  • 이 연구에서는 사이징 공정을 포함해서 수세, 전처리 그리고 최종 열처리 둥의 염색.가공 공정에서의 습열 및 건열 처리 온도가 폴리에스테르 직물의 열응력과 염색성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 사용된 폴리에스테르 필라멘트사는 경사가 50d/24f 스파크사이며 위사는 75d/72f semi-dull사이다. 평직물은 션틀직기, 주자직물은 water jet 직기로 제직하였으며, sizing dryer 온도는 $90^\circ{C}$, $125^\circ{C}$, $150^\circ{C}$, 수세공정의 습열처리 온도는 $90^\circ{C}$, $110^\circ{C}$, $120^\circ{C}$, 전처리 공정의 건열처리 온도는 $180^\circ{C}$, $200^\circ{C}$, $220^\circ{C}$, 마지막 세팅 공정의 건열처리 온도는 $170^\circ{C}$, $180^\circ{C}$, $200^\circ{C}$로 변화시켰다. 이들 습열과 건열처리 온도 변화에 따른 직물내의 필라멘트사의 열 수축률과 직물의 겉보기 염색성의 변화를 조사 분석하였다.

Fabric Weavability and Machine Efficiency in the Various Weaving Machines such as Projectile, Rapiers, and Air-jet (프로젝타일, 래피어 그리고 에어젯트 직기의 제직성과 직기효율)

  • This paper surveys the fabric weavability and machine efficiency in the various weaving looms such as Projectile, Rapiers, and Air-jet. Used projectile loom was Sulzer-PU, and FAST-R, THEMA-11E, and Picanol-GTX were used for Rapier looms, as the Air-Jet looms, Picanol PAT and OMNI types were used. Using these looms, 5 harness worsted satin fabrics were woven for surveying the fabric weavability and machine efficiency. Warp yam count of fabric is 1/40Nm, Sirofil, and filling is 1/30 Nm, worsted. End breaks of warp and filling directions for the various types of looms are measured and discussed with the mechanism of each loom. Warp and filling yam tensions are also measured and analysed with open width of shedding motion of each weaving machine. And various warp yam tensions with open width of shedding are measured and analysed according to the warp yam in various heald frame. These results fire also discussed with temples such as bar and ring. Warp yam tensions at the various positions on the fabric with various looms are measured and discussed with fabric mechanical properties such as tensile, bending, shear and surface.

  • 호부(sizing)의 목적은 제직시 발생하는 마찰, 긴장 등으로부터 경사를 보호하는데 있다. 방적사의 경우에는 제직시에 직기와의 접촉부위에서 받는 마찰로 인해 모우가 발생하고 이들은 다시 종광에 달라붙어 엉키거나 이웃한 실과 엉키어 경사절을 발생시키므로 제직효율 및 최종직물의 품질을 저하시키게 된다 따라서 이 때 사용되는 호제는 경사를 구성하는 섬유를 접착하여 포합성을 증가시키고 실 외부를 피복해서 모우의 발생을 억제하는 역할이 필요하다. (중략)

  • Dahoe is a traditional Korean term for cords and Dongdahoe for round cords. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the structure of a semi-automatic loom depicted in the paintings of Jun Geun Kim, and verify whether it actually worked or not. Jun Geun Kim is a genre painter of the late Joseon Dynasty. His nom de plume is Gisan and he drew genre paintings for foreigners who visited Korea in the late 19th century. These paintings are important in understanding the lifestyle and custom of the times. His paintings at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin in Germany and the British Museum in England both depict a semi automatic loom that operates two looms at the same time. This is a unique loom that is not found in any other country and currently no artifacts of such loom exist in Korea. The study went through the following steps: We first analyzed the structure and the operating mechanism of the loom in the painting. The structure of each parts and their roles were also analyzed. Then a loom that was similar in structure and size was made to check if it was operational. The loom depicted in the paintings had some problems, and adjustments to fix the said problems were made accordingly. Wood was primarily used to make the $80{\times}90cm$ loom. The loom was used to make Dahoe and the study confirmed that there were no differences between the handmade Dongdahoe and the Dongdahoe made with the semi automatic loom.

A Study on the Design of a High-Speed Heddle Frame (고속 직기용 복합재료 헤들 프레임의 설계에 관한 연구)

  • The up and down speed of heddle frames that produce woven cloth by insertion of weft yarns between warp yarns has been increased recently much for productivity improvement, which induces higher inertial stresses and vibrations in the heddle frame. the heddle frame is required to reduce its mass because the heddle frame contributes the major portion of the stresses in the heddle frames during accelerating and decelerating. Conventional aluminum heddle frames have fatigue life of around 5 months at 550rpm due to their low fatigue flexural strength as well as low bending stiffness. In this work, since carbon/epoxy composite materials have high specific fatigue strength(S/p), high specific modulus(E/p), high damping capacity and sandwich construction results in lower deflections and higher buckling resistance, the sandwich structure composed of carbon/epoxy composite skins and polyurethane foam were employed for the high-speed heddle frame. The design map for the sandwich beams was accomplished to determine the optimum thickness and the stacking sequences for the heddle frames. Also the effects of the number of ribs on the stress of the heddle frame were investigated by FEM analyses. Finally, the high-speed heddle frames were manufactured with sandwich structures and the static and dynamic properties of the aluminum and the composite heddle frames were tested and compared with each other.
