A Case Study on M & E Design for Double-Deck Tunnel in Urban Area (도심지 대심도 복층터널의 환기 및 방재계획)

  • The west underground express way is a recent initiated BTO (Build-Transfer-Operate) project for releasing heavy traffic of the existing west express way which is notorious on-ground road for extremely traffic stuck area in the west of Seoul, South Korea. The new express way for light vehicles is the first double-deck tunnel ever designed in South Korea and 10.91 km long including both open cut structures and concrete lining with middle-deck in bored tunnel. Because the new express way is going through underground of heavily populated area, mechanical & electrical design for the safety of drivers in tunnel is one of the most important parts among many design issues. This paper discusses M & E design focuses including ventilation-evacuation plan and various safety facilities.

기능성과 경제성을 겸비한 세종지하차도 설계

  • 교통량이 많은 도심지내 장대 지하차도 건설은 교통정체 해소에 기여를 하지만 초기 공사비가 많이 소요되는 단점이 있다. 또한, 화재등 유고시 이용자의 안전을 최우선으로 고려되어야 한다. 즉, 장대 지하차도 건설에 있어서 경제성과 안전성이 함께 만족할 수 있는 건설 방안이 필요하다. 세종지하차도는 이러한 문제점을 극복하고자 다음과 같이 지하차도의 환기방식 및 단면, 포장형식, 사고 예방 및 발생시를 대비한 종합방재시스템을 구축하였다. $\cdot$환기방식은 종류식 환기방식의 경제성과 횡류식 환기방식의 제연성능을 겸비할 수 있는 조합형 환기방식과 Duct Arch 단면을 적용하여 공사비 절감 및 운영시 유지관리비를 획기적으로 절감하였다. $\cdot$지하차도 포장형식은 화재시 내화성이 우수하며 유독가스 발생이 없는 HPC(고성능 콘크리트 포장) 포장을 적용하여 이용자의 안전을 최우선으로 고려하였고 일반 아스팔트 포장 및 배수성 아스팔트 포장에 비해 우수한 성능과 공용수명을 가진 공법을 적용함으로서 유지보수비용의 절감을 가능하게 하였다. 또한, 콘크리트포장의 단점인 소음발생을 최소화하기 위해 타이닝과 그루빙을 적용하였다. $\cdot$지하차도내 화재 등 유고시 신속한 대피가 가능하도록 피난 연락문 간격을 167m 간격으로 설치하고 비상탈출계단 6개소를 확보하였다. 또한 노약자 및 환자의 지하차도 외부로 대피를 돕기 위해 비상엘리베이터 3개소를 설치하는 등 사고발생 시 종합적으로 대처할 수 있는 시스템을 마련하여 적용하였다.

  • There are many underground spaces available in an urban environment and they represent an important factor for efficient land use. Especially, underground shopping centers perform both physical and commercial functions at the same time and are frequently used as a means of achieving the revitalization of the city center. However, the underground shopping centers that were developed in the past sometimes led to recession due to their deterioration. This study was carried out for the purpose of proposing alternative methods for the (revitalization) of underground shopping centers. A survey was conducted on seven underground shopping centers in the Busan metropolitan area to understand the factors that determine their user satisfaction and future improvement. The survey data was analyzed using an ordered logit model. As a result of the analysis, service satisfaction, underground environment satisfaction and public facility satisfaction were selected as significant variables. It was concluded that it is necessary to take these factors into consideration, appropriately, when developing a new or renewing an existing underground shopping mall.

  • In other to construct a subway, we have to consider the position of the subway and acquisition of a topography, profile-map, cross-map, underground facilities map. All information of underground is demanded accurate location in other to prevent of accident of underground in subway construction. We must think about water lines, sewer lines, electronic lines, telephone lines, all urban gas-line because these are needed construction the subway. And attributes of underground facilities recorded on topography are characteristics. length, width. number, position, and depth of the lines. We have to record these attributes because these are very important to design map on subway construction. If we develop GIS (Geographic Information System) to use the exact in-formation of the underground facilities, we can be management safely and prevent very dangerous accident as fast as possible. In this study, attribute informations are linked geographic informations about underground facilities and we can develop Underground Facilities Management System(UFMS) to analysis dangerous region through dangerous degreed and predict accident range with these informations.

A Study on the Plan of Inundation Response of Skyscrapers with Evacuation Route Calculation (대피경로 산정을 통한 초고층 건축물의 침수 대피 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: In this study, the authors propose a flood evacuation plan for skyscrapers with law related to underground space of skyscrapers, domestic and international underground space flood case study and simulation test. Method: This study compares the evacuation pattern of various case from flooded underground spaces extending over several floors with respect to the number of evacuation routes with. Also, simulation test was performed by setting up the virtual underground spaces consisting of three-stories basement and changing the number of the ground entrance, area of the basement and the flooding heights of the basement. Result: There was no difference in evacuation route according to the inundation risk even if there was an area corresponding to risk level 4. This is because the risk in the starting area is greater than that in the evacuation route. Especially, even if the risk of evacuation route increases with time, there is no change in route because the route must be passed to reach the evacuation site. Conclusion: In this study, there was no difference in evacuation route according to the inundation risk. However, if the size and shape of the underground space of each building is different, the depth of inundation with time may be different.

A Study on the Determination of Management Groundwater Level on Jeju Island (제주도 지하수 관리수위 설정에 관한 연구)

  • Jeju island is one of the highest rainfall areas in the Korean peninsular. However, variation in rainfall amount is much great with years, which resulted in substantial variation in annual groundwater recharge and sustainable yield. Therefore, to cope with groundwater hazard including sea water intrusion and water level decline in accordance with successive extreme drought, Jeju province established a stepwise action system, in which management of representative monitoring wells and corresponding actions to water level conditions was enforced. In this study, rainfall and groundwater monitoring data were analyzed to determine management groundwater level on Jeju island. First, rainfall data for last 30 years were analyzed, which yielded a lower limit of rainfall at a confidence level of 99% as a basis rainfall. Only when the rainfall less than the basis rainfall was sustained over 3 months, the water levels were targeted for the analysis. For the water level data selected using the above criteria, the lower limit of 99% confidence interval was determined as a reference groundwater level. Finally, some ratios of reference groundwater level was determined as stepwise management groundwater level on Jeju island.

  • This study was performed to investigate how to design, where to construct, why to degrade, what plan to use systematically the underground structures such as underpass, underground passageways. About 50% of the underground structures are located on Seoul, Kyungi-Do. In design of the underground structures such as underpass, underground passageways, the required conditions are defined. And also in construction stage, the conditions of soil, required structure depth, site characteristics, reasonable construction method, are investigated. In the selection of details for underground structure, the items mainly considered, are the wall and column type, the sidewalk type, anchoring-system type, the water-proofing method, entranc shape. The reason and the adequate measures for the degradation of concrete structure are also investigated. The initial cracking properties due to the thermal characteristic are considered. The state of the art report on the new technologies are reviewed. The recent project for the systematically application to the underground structures is reviewed.

Long-term Prediction of Groundwater Level in Jeju Island Using Artificial Neural Network Model (인공신경망 모형을 이용한 제주 지하수위의 장기예측)

  • Jeju Island is a volcanic island which has a large permeability. Groundwater is a major water resources and its proper management is essential. Especially, there is a multilevel restriction due to the groundwater level decline during a drought period to protect sea water intrusion. Preliminary countermeasure using long-term groundwater level prediction is necessary to use agricultural groundwater properly. For this purpose, the monthly groundwater level prediction technique by Artificial Neural Network model was developed and applied to the representative monitoring wells. The monthly prediction model showed excellent results for training and test periods. The continuous groundwater level prediction model also developed, which used the monthly forecasted values adaptively as input data. The characteristics of groundwater declines were analyzed under extreme cases without precipitation for several months.

  • According to increase of construction projects which is accomplished in the town, diaphragm wall method was proposed. This method diminished noise and vibration. And it is able to excavate deeper than other methods. But excavation work is difficult to maintain vertical and requires much time to work. Also the work result depends on know-how, experience and intuition of excavating machine operator. We interviewed technical experts related with slurry wall method and find equipment's characteristics. We used cost-concern matrix to investigate the propriety for the introduction of trench cutter automation. Through the research, it is proper to apply trench cutter automation.
