Assessing and Mapping the Aesthetic Value of Bukhansan National Park Using Geotagged Images (지오태그 이미지를 활용한 북한산국립공원의 경관미 평가 및 맵핑)

  • The purpose of this study is to present a method to assess the landscape aesthetic value of Bukhansan National Park using geotagged images that have been shared on social media sites. The method presented in this study consisted mainly of collecting geotagged image data, identifying landscape images, and analyzing the cumulative visibility by applying a target probability index. Ramblr is an application that supports outdoor activities with many users in Korea, from which a total of 110,954 geotagged images for Bukhansan National Park were collected and used to assess the landscape aesthetics. The collected geotagged images were interpreted using the Google Vision API, and were subsequently were divided into 11 landscape image types and 9 non-landscape image types through cluster analysis. As a result of analyzing the landscape types of Bukhansan National Park based on the extracted landscape images, landscape types related to topographical characteristics, such as peaks and mountain ranges, accounted for the largest portion, and forest landscapes, foliage landscapes, and waterscapes were also commonly found as major landscape types. In the derived landscape aesthetic value map, the higher the elevation and slope, the higher the overall landscape aesthetic value, according to the proportion and characteristics of these major landscape types. However, high landscape aesthetic values were also confirmed in some areas of lowlands with gentle slopes. In addition, the Bukhansan area was evaluated to have higher landscape aesthetics than the Dobongsan area. Despite the high elevation and slope, the Dobongsan area had a relatively low landscape aesthetic value. This shows that the aesthetic value of the landscape is strongly related not only to the physical environment but also to the recreational activities of visitors who are viewing the scenery. In this way, the landscape aesthetics assessment using the cumulative visibility of geotagged images is expected to be useful for planning and managing the landscape of Bukhansan National Park in the future, through allowing the geographical understanding of the landscape values based on people's perceptions and the identification of the regional deviations.

  • RFID 미들웨어에서 저장소 역할을 하는 EPCIS는 이전까지 물품의 식별 정보만을 저장 및 관리하고 있었다. 하지만, 최근에는 많은 물류 분야의 응용에서 물품의 식별 정보뿐만 아니라 센서 및 위치 정보 등을 포함하는 다양한 물류 정보를 EPCIS에서 저장 및 관리하도록 요구하고 있다. 하지만, 현재 EPCIS에서는 RFID 태그의 식별 정보 이외의 정보에 대하여 처리를 하지 않고 있으며, 설령 처리한다하더라도 비효율적인 조인으로 인한 속도 저하가 일어날 수 있다. 즉, 각 정보 소자에 대한 복합 정보를 요구하는 응용에서는 개별적인 시스템에 질의를 한 후 결과를 조합해야 하는 부담이 있다. 본 논문에서는 물품의 식별 정보, 센서 및 위치 정보를 포함하는 지오센서 태그 데이터에 대한 효율적인 처리를 지원하기 위한 다양한 물류 환경의 정보와 질의 조건의 특징을 분석하며, 분석된 내용을 바탕으로 데이터 모델링을 제시한다.

A Study on Mediterranean Tourism Impact Analysis by Specific Events using Photo Sharing Website (특정 사건에 따른 지중해 관광 영향 분석에 관한 연구 - 사진 공유 웹사이트를 기반으로)

  • Due to the variety of tourist attractions, many people of the world are visiting annually in Mediterranean area. In this paper, we analyze Mediterranean tourism impact by specific events such as the Arab Spring. In details, we make several density maps based on the position and time information of the geo-tagged photos extracted from Panoramio which is a representative photo sharing website. These density maps should be used to analyze how can specific events affect on Mediterranean tourism. To do this, first, a spatial database is constructed using geo-tag and time information of photo data extracted from Panoramio. Using GIS tool, then, several density maps are produced after performing density process based on spatial databases. Based on these density maps, finally, we analyze visually on Mediterranean tourism impact according to before, progress, and after of the Arab Spring.

  • In this paper, by using geofencing technology to set the area you want to move tourists. Geofence set of tourists in the region enters the smartphone by sending e-mail or SMS alarm to display a detailed map of the area to visit assistance. When you arrive at the destination of the museum exhibits or exhibits to the NFC tag attached to each corresponding to a web server for a detailed description of the exhibits from the get-down. Multimedia content using an existing exhibits described. Media of exhibition space and the interaction between the visitors tour guide system capable was built.

Understanding Visitor's Recognition of Geosites by Analyzing Instagram Hashtags (인스타그램 해시태그(Hashtags) 분석을 통한 방문객들의 지오사이트 인식에 대한 분석)

  • The objective of this study was two fold: firstly, we analyzed how the Geoparks have been run since the first one had been designated on December 31th, 2015. We then investigated how visitors' geographical and geological recognitions on the parks have changes. We visited geosites and investigated how well these sites accorded with the conditions for running Geoparks. In addition, scenery pictures and hashtags uploaded in Instagram between 2015 and 2016 were collected in order to analyze visitors preferences on the geosites along the, Hantan Imjingang River Geopark. Results showed that the hotspots were Bidulginang Waterall, Art Valley, and Jaein Waterfall. Compared to the ratio of geographical and geological references in 2015, the hashtags in all of these three geosites increased. The increases were as much as 3% in Bidulginang Falls, 0.6% in Art Valley, and 5% in Jaein Falls. In labelling the geographical and geological terms in Bidulginang Falls and Jaein Falls, the most frequently mentioned hashtags was "columnar joint", followed by "natural monument", "Geopark", and "basalt canyon". This study includes the study of visitors recognition which is one of the most important, but somehow neglected factor for the geopark's management.

Analyzing Spatial Correlation between Location-Based Social Media Data and Real Estates Price Index through Rasterization (격자기반 분석을 통한 위치기반 소셜 미디어 데이터와 부동산 가격지수 간의 공간적 상관성 분석 연구)

  • In this study, the spatial relevance between the regional housing price data and the spatial distribution of the location-based social media data is explored. The spatial analysis with rasterization was applied to this study, because the both data have a different form to analyze. The geo-tagged Twitter data had been collected for a month and the regional housing price index about sales and lease were used. The spatial range of both data includes Seoul and the some parts of the metropolitan area. 2,000m grid was constructed to consider the different spatial measure between two data, and they were combined into the constructed grids. The Hotspot Analysis was operated using the combined dataset to see the comparison of spatial distribution, and the bivariate spatial correlation coefficients between two data were measured for the quantitative analysis. The result of this study shows that Seocho-gu area is detected as a common hotspot of tweet and housing sales price index data. though the spatial relevance is not detected between tweet and housing lease price index data.

  • Smart-phone is appropriate for using image information and location information. However it is possible to be exploited for forgery and manipulation. So we experimented on modified data on the smart-phone as image and location information in EXIF and researched the technology for data verification.

Development of a Banner Advertisement System based on Geographic Information (지리정보 기반의 배너광고 시스템 개발)

  • Lots of applications that represent and utilize geographic information on the Web have emerged on the Web. In addition, personal electronic devices equipped with GPS function, which can record personal location information in real time, are being increasingly adopted by people. Such geographic information enables Internet business companies to provide users more useful services based on the location information. Most successful Internet business companies have adopted and utilized Web 2.0 technologies, which promote users' participation and emphasize openness and information sharing. Especially, using open APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) can reduce the costs of a program development. In this study, we design and develop a banner advertisement system based on geographic information using open APIs. We propose a business model using the advertisement system, and a prototype system has been illustrated in order to explain the proposed business model. Finally, we summarize the benefits of our system by describing factors generating values of the proposed business model. Hopefully, main ideas proposed in this paper can be applied to real industry sectors that use geographic information widely such as travel, real estate and so on.

SmartRetweet : A Study on Method of the Efficient Propagation of Location-Based News Feed (스마트 리트윗 : 위치기반 관심정보의 효율적인 전파방법에 대한 연구)

  • It is prevalent to gather the location information from GPS, WiFi and etc, and therefore LBSNS (Location-Based SNS) has increased rapidly (such as location-augmented Twitter services). The message created from LBSNS include the specific area of interests which the message is created in or mentions. It is easy to propagate the location-based information of LBSNS by adapting the retweet function which is efficient way to propagate the message in tweeter. In this paper, we have defined the smart retweet as a automatic retweet function for efficient propagating the messages which is geo-tagging the location of interests. We have designed the smart retweet system based on the tweeter system. The user could specify the area of interests and build the social networking among the users which have interested in common area. The smart retweet system have been implemented by mesh-up services based on Open-API of trweeter and google map. It is expected that the smart retweet service proposed in this paper makes easy sharing of the location-based interesting information.
