China's advertising industry has rapidly increased owing to economic growth and big market size. This paper covers the localization and relative efficiency in the Chinese advertising industry. To analyze localization level and efficiency of advertising industry, this paper uses Location Quotient(LQ) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) respectively. According to the results, the first finding shows that the higher regional development level have the relative efficiencies, the higher regional development level also have regional specialization degree. The second finding indicates that Chinese advertising industries are multipolalized region by region. The last finding reveals that advertising industry of middle and west regions has long term development potentiality owing to high specialization degree with low relative efficiencies.

Chungcheongbuk-do can be said that it is not developed well because its surface accounts for 7.5% of Korea's whole land surface, and it accounts for 3.1% of population and main economical index from those of whole Korea. However, Chungcheongbuk-do should develop itself more by integrating of Cheongju-si and Cheongwon-gun, transfer of government facilities to Sejong city, and dispersing manufacturing companies of Seoul Metropolitan area. The factor which affects Chungcheongbuk-do's regional specialized industries is the distance from Cheongju-si and Gyeonggi-do. Service industries are specialized in urban area; manufacturing industries are specialized in regions which are close to Cheongju-si or Gyeonggi-do; and primary industries and consumer service industries are specialized in areas that is far from Cheongju-si. This study can be a foundation for studies on regional and industrial change of Chungcheongbuk-do by looking at its population and location quotient.

The Material·Part·Equipment industry is mostly an industry centered on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and is an important industry for revitalizing the local economy, which is the source of manufacturing competitiveness. In this study, we tried to derive the implications necessary for the development of the Material·Part·Equipment industries by analyzing the competitiveness of the Material·Part·Equipment industries in the Chungcheong region. To this end, we analyzed the industrial development stage and competitiveness of each region (Daejeon, Sejong, Chungnam, and Chungbuk) based on business scale factor, industrial growth rate, industrial specialization, and regional competitiveness for the Material·Part·Equipment industries in the Chungcheong region. Using data such as the number of employees, the number of businesses, and the amount of production in 2014 and 2019, significant industrial groups by region were identified considering the level of industrial specialization and regional competitiveness. In addition, by identifying the positions of these significant industrial groups in the stage of industrial development, suggestions for the development of the Material·Part·Equipment industries in the Chungcheong region were presented.

서울특별시인쇄정보산업협동조합(이사장 조정석)은 지난 1월 26일 서울인쇄센터 앞에서 인쇄마을 조성을 위한 서명운동을 전개했다. 조정석 이사장과 김정전 인쇄마을 지정 비상대책 위원회 위원장, 조합 임직원들은 이날 중구 쌍림동부터 인쇄사가 밀집해 있는 방산시장을 비롯하여 필동, 을지로, 충무로 등 전 지역을 두루 다니며 서명운동을 펼쳤다. 서울시가 중구 지역의 재개발을 추진하면서 특화산업으로 지정되어 있는 인쇄산업겁에 대한 대책을 전혀 세우지 않고 있기 때문이다. 특화산업인 인쇄가 발전하기 위해서는 지속적이고 장기적인 안목에서의 지원이 이루어져야 하는데도 서울시는 뉴타운재개발사업에서 인쇄산업을 아예 제외하고 금융산업을 지정한 것은 인쇄인들의 분노를 사기에 충분하다. 이에 인쇄인들은 인쇄업의 미래를 위해 서명운동을 적극 벌이고 있는 것이다.

This paper tests whether or not manufacturing specialization, employment growth, establishment size, employment size, industrial mix in manufacturing, regional difference between the Capital region and the others and so on are empirically related to manufacturing employment volatility levels across 203 municipalities called shi-gun-gu during the period 1990~2006. Using the spatial econometric analysis of cross sectional data, the municipalities tending to be more volatile are more specialized; they have higher-than-average employment growth rates, smaller establishment and employment sizes, regardless of any industrial mix in manufacturing; and they tend to be located in the Capital region. Unlike existing foreign literature based upon the spatial econometric analysis of cross sectional data, this paper finds that volatility of growth in a municipality is negatively rather than positively influenced by volatility of growth in its neighboring municipalities.

Development of policy incentives and policy direction in the innovation economy is always important. Innovations policy have characterized industrial dynamics, leading to a transformation of the market structure of the specific industry. The paper explores the development of industry convergence for understanding the change of the wireless industry in Daejeon. Although its initial focus is R&D center, The business model has become the research and development of external demand than its own product research and development. For regional innovation, the wireless industry policy should be provided with their own product development pattern.

During the last two decades, industrial cluster policies for promoting regional economic growth and industrial development have been flourishing all over the world. Even though cluster policies have partly contributed to regional industrial growth and innovation capabilities, they have long been blamed for regional industrial lock-ins and declining regional industrial resilience because of applying homeogenous cluster policies and regional specialized strategic industrial promotion policies for various localities, which are based on so-called 'selection and concentration' principle. This paper suggests postcluster policy focused on placed-based smart specialization and regional business platform strategies.

This research is targeted on developing an advancing model for 4 provinces of Jeollabuk-Do, Jeollanam-Do, Gangwon-Do, and Jeju Island that are relatively underdeveloped in regard to various infrastructures, on causing balanced development of this country (South Korea) by making those provinces undertaking a part of growth power in the next generation, and accordingly, on helping this country (South Korea) to emerge as a heart of north-east countries in economy. This research at first focuses on Jeollabuk-Do as considering the geographical and economical characteristics, has an effort to contrive an advancing model of culture-information industry, and then, if successfully souled down, is enlarged to the other underdeveloped provinces in developing advancing models.

New technologies are being created and resulted as new types of fusion complex as the barrier between technology and industries are being broken and convergence is becoming more activated in the global economy of the era of fourth industrial revolution. Korea government is trying to foster innovative technologies for new technologies and new services to prepare for the fourth industrial revolution and gain global competitiveness, but many regulations make it difficult to verify and commercialize them. In response, the Korea government is pushing for the introduction of a regulation-free special zone system in which sandboxes are applied so that new technology and new service-based innovation projects can be freely commercialized through experiment and demonstration. This study aims to examine the limitations of the special zones for regional specialization development applied to the zones that are applied uniformly throughout the country and suggest ways for the deregulation special zone to be fostered as an empirical test bed based on new technologies and as a base for regional innovation.
