Transfer Impedence of Trip Chain with a Railway Mode Embedded - Using Seoul Metroplitan Transportation Card Data - (철도수단이 내재된 통행사슬의 환승저항 추정방안 - 수도권 교통카드자료를 활용하여 -)

  • This research uses public transportation card data to analyze the inter-regional transfer times, transfer frequencies, and transfer resistance that passengers experience during transit amongst the metropolitan public transportation modes. Currently, mode transfers between bus and rail are recorded up to five times during one transit movement by Trip Chain, facilitating greater comprehension of intermodal movements. However, lack of information on what arises during these transfers poses a problem in that it leads to an underestimation of transfer resistances on the Trip Chain. As such, a path choice model that reflects passenger movements during transit activities is created, which attains explanatory power on transfer resistance through its inclusion of transfer times and frequencies. The methodology adopted in this research is to first conceptualize the idea of metropolitan public transportation transfer, and in the case that mode transfers include the city-rail, to newly conceptualize the idea of transfer resistance using transportation card data. Also, the city-rail path choice model within the Trip Chain is constructed, with transfer time and frequency used to reevaluate transfer resistance. Further, in order to align bus and city-rail station administrative level small-zone coordinates to state and regional level mid-zone coordinates, the big node methdod is utilized. Finally, case studies on trip chains using at least one transfer onto the city-rail is used to determine the validity of the results obtained.

Spatial Distribution Patterns of Winter Daytime and Nighttime Apparent Temperature in South Korea (남한의 겨울철 주.야간 체감 온도의 공간적 분포 특성)

  • This study classified wintertime bioclimatic zones of South Korea based on daytime and nighttime distribution of wind chill index calculated from climate data during the coldest month for latest 30 years (1971- 2000). The results show that the winter daytime and nighttime wind chill index were influenced by climatic factors such as elevation, land-sea breeze, topology, and sea currents etc. as well as climatic components such as temperature, wind speed, and sunshine, so that South Korea was divided into five bioclimatic zones; Cool day- cold night zone, Keen day- Cold night zone, Keen day-Very Cold night zone, Cold day and night zone, and Cold day-Extremely Cold night zone. Especially, coasts and island areas, except for south coast of Korea, shows Keen bioclimatic response during daytime and Very Cold bioclimatic response during nighttime. This indicates that coasts and island areas, except for south coast of Korea are affected by moonson and land-sea breeze. In addition, highly elevated Daegwallyeong shows Cold bioclimatic response during daytime and Extremely Cold during nighttime due to the influence of adiabatic temperature lapse rate and monsoon. This study offers basic data necessary to make decisions concerning insulation such as clothing and architect etc. by classifying winter bioclimatic zones of South Korea based on various daytime and nighttime distribution of wind chill.

  • 경부고속철도의 개통과 함께 서울-부산 간 운행시간이 새마을호 기준 4시간 30분에서 2시간으로 단축되는 등 획기적인 시간 절감을 이루었으나 이는 고속철도가 운행되는 지역에 국한된 것이다. 이에 고속철도 비 수혜지역의 운행시간 단축을 위해 기존선 속도향상이 요구되며, 이러한 목적으로 한국철도기술연구원에서는 틸팅열차를 개발하여 시운전 10만Km를 목표로 시험운행중이다. 또한 한국철도공사에서는 이와 유사한 목적으로 기존선 신호시스템인 ATS 시스템을 차상신호시스템(ATP)으로 개량하는 사업이 추진되고 있다. 현재 틸팅열차에는 기존의 ATS(자동열차정지장치) 차상장치만을 장착하여 차량의 성능 확인을 위한 시험 및 시운전을 우선적으로 추진하고 있는 상태이며 이러한 ATS 차상장치는 160km/h 이하의 속도에서만 본연의 기능이 유지되고, 그 이상의 속도에서는 현실적으로 사용이 어렵기 때문에 틸팅열차의 목표속도인 200km/h에서 적합하게 시험하기 위해서는 적합하지 않다. 따라서 한국철도공사에서 추진하고 있는 ATP 구축사업의 지상설비와 연계될 수 있는 ATP 차상장치를 설치하여 시험을 하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이를 위한 틸팅열차와 ATP 차상장치와의 인터페이스에 대해 연구하였다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to provide basic information on how to make better policies that improves efficiencies and to derive policy directions using DEA (data envelopment analysis) model. Through this paper, we can identify whether or not the railroad service has an excellent performance, if there are any structural problems, in which sector it is experiencing a degree of inefficiency, and, therefore, how to set up a realistic target to improve efficiency of railroad transportation. According to the result, we need to introduce a better resource efficient economic strategy to reduce the rail line extension and the number of passenger cars for better efficiency from a public interest perspective, while to widen headways and/or reduce the rail line extension from an economic point of view.

  • 최근 건설 사업에서는 다양한 형태의 전산화 도구들을 현장에 적용하기 위한 노력이 진행 되고 있다. 그러나 철도시설과 같은 광역지역을 효율적으로 관리하기 위해서는 VR (Virtual Reality, 가상현실) 기술을 활용한 원격기반의 정보화 기법이 도입될 필요가 있다. 이를 위 본 연구에서는 VR과 Telepresence 기술을 통합한 실시간 현장 원격관리체계 구축 및 AR (Augmented Reality, 증강현실) 연동 방법론을 제안하며, 제시된 방법론의 실무 적용 성을 검토하고 있다. 이러한 가상건설지원 체계는 건설실무자와 시스템간의 실시간 상호작용을 가능하게 하며, 통합된 현장 진도 상황정보를 효율적으로 파악 할 수 있는 도구가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • From the world wide globalization of iron oxide industy, the global trade in iron oxide is changed rapidly and the production of iron oxide is increasing in China, currently. Iron oxide have a broad range of applications from construction materials to medical area. Therefore, it is expected that nanoparticulate iron oxides have many applications, too. There is a series of interesting applications are introduced, but in entirely different fields as they are known from conventional iron oxide.

  • The system of high-speed and conventional railway vehicles is diversified, and significant technological development in performance has been achieved. This study analyzed the modal change characteristics; furthermore, it estimated the value of travel time by improving the travel time and cost for the passenger's perception of railway. In this study, we formulate a mode choice model for passengers and compare it with the mixed logit model which reflects individual taste variation. In addition, the validity of the analysis is presented through an estimation the value of travel time using the derived model. For this purpose, a stated preference survey was conducted with 510 people using public transportation. The benefits of time-saving can be accurately determined by estimating the value of time spent on the railway. Appropriate fares for public transportation can also be estimated.

Correlation between Heavy Metal Levels in Tissues of Feral Pigeons(Columba livia) (비둘기의 체내 조직 중 중금속 농도의 상관관계)

  • Concentrations of Fe, Zn, Mn, Cd and Pb were determined in the tissues of sixty adult pigeons collected at six colonies in Korea, and examined correlations between elements, and between tissues in feral pigeons. As the results, we found many significant correlations between elements, and between tissues in them, A negative correlation between Cd and Fe concentrations was observed in the kidney, Cd depresses the absorption of Fe from the intestine and, in this way, affects the levels of Fe in particular tissues. This tendency could be expressed in terms of lower hemoglobin and hematocrit values because hematocrit is one of the most sensitive indicators of Cd intoxication. Zn concentrations are strongly associated with higher Cd levels in the kidney and liver. This is thought to be a reflection of the interaction known to occur between these two metals. Zn induction has been shown to antagonize a number of toxic effects of Cd. A positive correlation between Pb and Fe concentrations was detected in the livers at the Busan colony with relatively high Pb and Fe concentrations. Pb has been shown to co-accumulate with Fe in the liver by inhibiting the heme synthesis. Significant correlations, especially in toxic elements, Pb and Cd, were observed for many pairs of tissues. We suggest that these correlations between elements, and between tissues should be considered in biomonitoring for heavy metal pollution.
