The purpose of this study is to explore some directions and alternatives for reforming the school education system, which is one of the core policy agendas of the Korean society that has met the upcoming 4th industrial revolution era and intelligence information society. Korean school education is a supplier-oriented system that does not take into consideration student's individual needs and aptitudes, and maintains uniform educational and learning practices while strengthening the characteristics of factory school model of the early 20th century. Especially, according to the excessive follow-up of the college entrance examination of the people the de-contextualization of knowledge and the instrumentation and learning of the education has been deepened. For the reform of the education system, first, it should transform the curriculum delegation system from the current administrative to teacher-based system. Second, we need to dismantle the bureaucratic corps of teacher that erodes the autonomy of the teacher and should establish the professional teacher system. Third, we should overcome egoism of each curriculum territory and reform the teacher education system. Fourth, it is necessary to overhaul the system of education and administrative bureaucracy as well as to overhaul the system of educational law. Fifth, it is necessary for the school administration to provide more effective communication between learners and teachers.
This paper reviews the topic of GIS, the academic setting of GIS, GIS model curricula and the possibility GIS education in Korea. The topics which might be included in a science of geographic information consist of data collection and measurement, data capture, spatial statistics, data modeling and theories of spatial data, data structures, algorithms and processes, display, analytical tools, institutional, managerial and ethical issues. The problems in teaching a course on GIS in higher education are reviewed. Because of their technological, integrative, and rapidly changing nature, GIS pose major challenges to their education system which it is ill equipped to meet. In higher education a number of initiatives have been taken to provide education about and training with, GIS. The possible GIS curricula are suggested. These curricula are divided into 3 major sections, relating GIS context, technical issues and application issues. This paper considers some kinds of socio-spatial constraints and strategies for overcoming them which immigrant workers in Korea have experienced in their work-place and life-space, with an analysis of questionnaire data and of direct interview materials on them. Though they appear somewhat satisfactory or positive with their work-place, this can be seen as a hypocritical or false attitude rather than a real one: they are forced to work with long hours (more than 70 hours per week) and rigid controls in the other' territory. Their daily life-spaces also are severe: they can be hardly embedded in an existing community with a sense of place due to serious institutional and interaction constraints, even though they seem to have a basic mobility to survive in life-spaces. In order to escape or alleviate such local constraints, they try to constitute multi-scalar (local, trans-regional, and transnational) networks, and to find informations and means to resolve or cope with them. However, this kind of endeavors of immigrant workers to make a trans-national network and social space has a limitation for them to be free entirely from constraints, which might be strengthened with a lack of geographical knowledge of them. Then immigrant workers in Korea live ineluctably with not only hybrid national identity but also with disturbed local identity in an aliened workplace and life-spaces.

Recently, there are so many music school graduates. In addition, there are many private music institutes. For this reason, there is a fierce competition in music education market. In the past, those who worked in music education market earned big money and so many parents wanted their girls and boys to learn playing a piano and other musical instruments. In the recent times, however, birth ratio was reduced dramatically in Korea and parents do not want their children to learn musical instruments due to economic depression and deteriorated music market. Eventually, the size of music education market was diminished dramatically and the competition in music education market is getting fiercer. Therefore, it is difficult to expect good performance in music education market without having an improved management system. In this respect, this study aims to understand what main factors have an impact on business performance in music institutes. The main areas studied in this paper include successful factors, reason why they start up a business, and successful management factors. The survey of this study targeted music institute owners. Based on the surveyed results, for the owners of the music institute, the method of the venture management approach, in other words, the application of the marketing knowledge, the consideration of the company system, the application of the smart technologies, etc., has been presented.
Quality control is critical at manufacturing sites and is key to predicting the risk of quality defect before manufacturing. However, the reliability of manual quality control methods is affected by human and physical limitations because manufacturing processes vary across industries. These limitations become particularly obvious in domain areas with numerous manufacturing processes, such as the manufacture of major nuclear equipment. This study proposed a novel method for predicting the risk of quality defects by using natural language processing and machine learning. In this study, production data collected over 6 years at a factory that manufactures main equipment that is installed in nuclear power plants were used. In the preprocessing stage of text data, a mapping method was applied to the word dictionary so that domain knowledge could be appropriately reflected, and a hybrid algorithm, which combined n-gram, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency, and Singular Value Decomposition, was constructed for sentence vectorization. Next, in the experiment to classify the risky processes resulting in poor quality, k-fold cross-validation was applied to categorize cases from Unigram to cumulative Trigram. Furthermore, for achieving objective experimental results, Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine were used as classification algorithms and the maximum accuracy and F1-score of 0.7685 and 0.8641, respectively, were achieved. Thus, the proposed method is effective. The performance of the proposed method were compared and with votes of field engineers, and the results revealed that the proposed method outperformed field engineers. Thus, the method can be implemented for quality control at manufacturing sites.

This study is to identify the concept of action from the critical science perspective and to explore the agency of home economics teachers for the purpose of teacher education. The context and various characteristics of home economics teacher' agency were identified in terms of philosophy and teacher education. The results of the study indicates, first, the concept of action refers to an activity of individuals involving one's own intentions, and include the ability to reveal a unique identity that aims to reach a set purpose and decision, and this can be identified by mutual meaning in the public sphere. Second, teacher agency is influenced by a teacher's professional experiences and cultural and structural aspects, and it can create an environment which can promote self-directed and cooperative relationships among individuals and communities. Therefore, home economics teachers should be able to reasonably judge, contemplate, and act through reflections on the circumstances and consequences in which their agency is exercised. Third, home economics teachers can reflect and think critically about the values, roles, and sense of purpose of home economics education based on agency. Teachers should focus on the process of achieving their agency rather than on completing it, and they can continuously develop it through a perceived shared understanding among teachers. Therefore, the conceptualization of the agency of home economics teachers is to understand the practice revealed in a teacher's actions. This requires environmental support in school settings because it acts as a mechanism for strengthening the thinking and reflection of teachers through the creation of interactive environments in which professional knowledge and experiences can be shared.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the significance of musicals and find a way to utilize them in Korean language culture classes for foreigners. Korean language education aims to improve communication skills, and cultural education is necessary to help students understand not only the language but also the social background and context of the language. Accordingly, the author of this study has put together a lesson plan for Korean culture incorporating musicals, a topic that has been heretofore disregarded in Korean language education. Musicals are an appealing art medium for Korean language learners, as they provide striking visuals centered around distinct narrative structures and music. The musical "Swag Age: Shout out Joseon!," which this study focuses on, provides particularly suitable content, as it deals with social issues that are relevant even in contemporary Korean society and includes sijo (poetry), which can be used to teach traditional Korean literature. Based on the above characteristics, the author of this study outlines a Korean culture lesson plan teaching sijo through the musical "Swag Age: Shout out Joseon!" The class will be for learners of intermediate level and above, and consists of 4 sessions: 1) Understanding the overall plot of the musical, 2) Learning about Korean sijo, 3) Writing sijo based on your own life, and 4) Presenting your own sijo. This culture class is significant in that it goes beyond simply learning about sijo and enables students to internalize the meaning of and actively enjoy sijo by writing their own versions. In addition, it is expected to be a compelling class that, on top of its educational value, introduces and allows students to experience a wider range of Korean popular culture by adding the musical genre to the common repertoire of movies, dramas, plays, and pop songs often covered in Korean culture classes.

The purpose of this study is to derive implications of preservice mathematics teacher education in Korea by analyzing the case of edTPA used in the preservice teacher training process in the United States. Recently, there has been a growing interest in promoting professional competencies considering not only the cognitive dimension related to knowledge development of preservice mathematics teachers but also the situational dimension considering reality in the classroom. The edTPA in the United States is a performance-based assessment based on lessons conducted by preservice teachers at school. This study analyzes the professional competencies required of preservice mathematics teachers by analyzing handbooks that described the case of edTPA in which preservice mathematics teachers in the United States participate. The edTPA includes planning, instruction, and assessment tasks, and continuous tasks are performed in connection with classes. Thus, the analysis is conducted on the points of linkage between the description of evaluation items and criteria in the planning, instruction, and assessment tasks, as well as the professional competencies required from that linkage. As a result of analyzing the edTPA handbooks, the professional competencies required of preservice mathematics teachers in the edTPA assessment were the competency to focus on and implement specific mathematics lessons, the competency to reflectively understand the implementation and assessment of specific mathematics lessons, and the competency to make a progressive determination of students' achievement related to their learning and their uses of language and representations. The results of this analysis can be used as constructs for competencies that can be assessed in the preservice in the organization of the preservice mathematics teacher curriculum and practice training semester system in Korea.
The concept of Mydata emerged with the expansion of the data economy. MyData aims to empower individuals by enhancing their right to self-determination over their personal data. The use of MyData is expected to enable the provision of innovative service in various fields. Since 2022, MyData has been introduced and actively used in the financial sector. In the future, not only financial institutions but also Bigtech and Fintech companies are expected to actively join and demonstrate rapid expansion. To ensure steady growth for MyData in the financial sector, it is necessary to assess acceptance behaviors from multiple perspectives. However, the majority of existing research solely focuses on positive acceptance. This study analyzed the impact of users' personal characteristics and innovation characteristics on both innovation resistance and acceptance resistance. The analysis revealed that personal and innovation characteristics contribute to an increase in distrust and innovation resistance in the MyData service. In addition, it has been confirmed that it can lead to actions such as delayed acceptance and refusal to accept. The results of this study offer both theoretical and practical insights into user behavior within the MyData service market.
In this study, we explored the mediating effect of grit in the relationship between elementary school science teachers' perceived personal pedagogical content knowledge (pPCK) and enacted pedagogical content knowledge (ePCK). Drawing on insights from a review of the literature, we developed a research hypothesis model that set pPCK, ePCK, and grit as latent variables. Pearson correlation was conducted to examine the interrelationships among the latent variables. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was then employed to analyze the model fit. Additionally, bootstrap analysis was performed to specifically investigate the mediating effect of grit in the relationship between pPCK and ePCK. The Pearson correlation analysis indicated statistically significant correlations among the measurement variables. Meanwhile, the SEM analysis revealed that the measurement model aligned with the research hypothesis model. Furthermore, the bootstrap analysis demonstrated that grit had a statistically significant mediating effect in the relationship between elementary school science teachers' perceived pPCK and ePCK. These findings quantitatively examine the importance and impact of grit in the teacher expertise domain, providing valuable insights for the development of teachers' expertise and teacher education research within elementary school science classes.
