Types of Integrative Thinking Ability in Solving Earth Science Items (지구과학 문제 풀이에서 활용되는 통합 사고 유형)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the types and characteristics of the integrative thinking that learners with diverse learning backgrounds use in solving earth science problems. Four students in middle school were surveyed using questionnaires to know students' science learning background and test items with integrated content. A total of 200 items, 40 integrated items and 160 general items, were administered ten times. The students did not show a consistent relationship in terms of correct answer percentage in general items and that of in integrated items. In order to understand the type of integrative thinking of each student, after students solve an item, we analyzed the percentage of correct answers by types and interviewed them and analyzed the contents to identify the characteristics of the thinking used in solving each item. As a result, the types of integrative thinking used in problem solving were classified into three types, knowledge-based, real life-based, and integrated inquiry-based types. It is necessary to study various ways to improve the integrative thinking ability considering the characteristics of students in science teaching and learning.

Prospective elementary teachers' preconceptions and experiences of diagrams in solving math word problems (초등예비교사의 수학 문장제 해결 도구로서 다이어그램에 대한 초기 관념과 수행)

  • This study involved an investigation of prospective elementary teachers' preconceptions and experiences of diagrams and their ability to draw diagrams in solving math word problems. A questionnaire and two math word problems were administered to prospective elementary teachers who began to taking an introductory mathematics education course. The results from the analysis of their responses to the questionnaire items indicate that prospective elementary teachers appreciate the value of diagrams as tools for problem solving and communication. In addition, prospective elementary teachers have the will not only to teach their future students how to use diagrams but also to encourage them to draw diagrams in solving math word problems. However, the results also indicates that prospective elementary teachers neither use diagrams spontaneously in their math problem solving activities nor have confidence in drawing useful diagrams. Prospective elementary teachers also manifested low scores on the questionnaire items asking whether they were taught how to draw useful diagrams or encouraged by their teachers to use diagrams in their previous learning experiences. The results from the analysis of the diagrams that prospective elementary teachers drew in solving math word problems showed that most of them had difficulty drawing diagrams that represent their reasoning and solving process.

A Study on the Instructional Model utilizing Scratch for Introductory Programming Classes of SW-Major Students (SW전공자 프로그래밍 입문 수업의 스크래치 활용 수업 모형 연구)

  • The programming language is a core education area of software that is becoming increasingly important in the age of the fourth industrial revolution, but it requires mathematical knowledge and logical thinking skills, so that many local private university and college students with low basic skills are having difficulties learning it. This problem occasionally causes SW-major students to lose interest and confidence in their majors during the introductory course of programming languages; making them change their majors, or give up their studies. In this study, we designed an instructional model using Scratch for educating C-language which is a typical programming introductory language. To do this, we analyzed the concepts that can be trained by Scratch among the programming concepts supported by C-language, and developed the examples of Scratch for exercising the concepts. In addition, we designed an instructional model, by which the programming concepts are first learned through Scratch and then C-language is taught, and conducted an experiment on the SW-major freshman students of a local private university to verify the effectiveness of the model. In the situation where SW education is becoming common, we expect that this study will help programming language education of security IT students.

The Lived Experiences of Supported Housing among People with Psychiatric Disabilities (정신장애인의 체험홈 이용경험에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate in depth the lived experiences of utilizing supported housing among people with psychiatric disabilities. Phenomenological approach was used for this study. A total of 9 people with psychiatric disabilities were recruited as research participants. Data was collected through in-depth interviews from September, 2016 to March, 2018. Transcribed data from audio recordings on interviews were analyzed using the Colaizzi method. 6 clustered themes consisting of 17 sub-themes emerged through the qualitative data analysis and they include the following: 1) Confusion at site daily residence; 2) Feeling relaxed in supported housing site; 3) Development in self-perception; 4) Undertaking a leading role; 5) Growing capacity for independent living; and 6) Integration into normal life. Study findings suggest that expanding supported housing and improving its quality for people with psychiatric disabilities are needed. Additionally, the field of mental health needs an increase in the number of case managers with expertise in dealing with people suffering from psychiatric disabilities and their recovery.

  • 최근 지식정보 사회는 IT가 핵심 구성요소인 스마트 사회로 변모하고 있으며, 인간과 사물 간 의사소통에서 사물과 사물 간 의사소통까지 확장하고, IT간 융합에서 나아가 타 산업과 융합하는 지능형 사회로 나아가고 있다. '공간'에 대한 정보는 '시간'과 함께 인간이 생활하는데 있어 반드시 알아야 하는 가장 근본적인 정보로써, 공간에서 발생하는 정보를 기반으로 다른 사람들과 소통을 하고 목적을 충족함으로써 삶의 질을 향상시킨다. 현대 사회에서 공간정보는 중요한 인프라 가치를 증대시키므로 새로운 사회 패러다임 전환을 위한 필수적인 요소라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 수재해 정보 플랫폼 구현에 앞서 사용자의 니즈를 만족시키고 효용가치 증대가 가능하도록 공간정보서비스 활용 방안 연구를 하고자 한다. 공간정보는 시대의 흐름에 따라 형태 및 생산?활용방법이 달라졌으나 항상 중요한 정보로 인식되어 왔으며, 미래 공간정보는 단순 콘텐츠 영역을 뛰어넘어 상황(Context)정보까지 범위를 확장하였다. (1)미국의 공간정보는 시설, 기록관리 및 지도와 같은 공공분야에서 현재는 업무통합관리, 의사결정지원 등에서 데이터 웨어하우스(Data Warehouse)로서의 역할 담당한다. (2)일본은 아시아 최고의 원천기술력을 보유하고 있으며, 높은 수준의 GIS, RS(위성항측), ITS(지능형 교통 시스템) 기술을 기반으로 하고 있다. (3)영국은 지리정보시스템과 공공서비스를 접목하여 시민의 요구에 부응하는 고객맞춤형서비스 제공을 국가정보화의 우선과제로 선정하고 있다. (4)우리나라는 초고속통신망과 모바일 기술 등 세계 최고 수준의 인프라를 확보하고 있어, 이러한 인프라 기반융 복합 공간정보서비스를 이용하는데 안정적인 기반을 확보하고 있다. 본 연구는 국내외 공간정보서비스의 패러다임 변화 및 추진 동향 등을 제시하였으며, 수재해정보 플랫폼 활용에 능동적 적극적으로 접근할 수 있는 기반을 마련하였다. 공간정보서비스를 활용하여 커뮤니케이션 강화, 수재해 정보 서비스의 효율성 증진, 재해부문 선진화 측면에서 발전적 영향을 미칠 수 있으며, 특히 각종 현안에 대한 미래 예측 및 대응에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

  • This research is to analyze the public cases of information facilities in terms of central circulations in multi level volumes such as atrium or court which provide visual intervention between different spaces and physical connections such as bridges. Hunt Library design balances the understood pre-existing needs with the University's emerging needs to create a forward-thinking learning environment. While clearly a contemporary structure within a traditional context of the NCSU campus, the Hunt Library provides a positive platform for influencing its surroundings. Both technical and programmatic innovations are celebrated as part of the learning experience and provide a versatile and stimulating environment for students. Public library as open spaces connecting to an interactive social domain over communities can provide variety of learning environments, or technology based labs. There are many cases of the public information spaces with dynamic networks where participants can play their roles in physical space as well as in the intellectual stimulation. In the research, new public projects provide typologies of information spaces with user oriented media. The research is to address a creative transition between the reading space and the experimental links of the integration of state-of-the-art technology is highly visible in the building's design. The user-friendly browsing system that replaces the traditional browsing with the virtual shelves classified and archived by their form, is to reduce the storage space of the public library and it is to allow more space for collaborative learning. In addition to the intelligent robot of information storages, innovative features is the large-scale visualization space that supports team experiments to carry out collaborative online works and therefore the public library's various programs is to provide visitors with more efficient participatory environment.

Educational Contents for Concepts and Algorithms of Artificial Intelligence

  • This study is to design and to develop the educational contents to enhance artificial intelligence literacy. First, we designed artificial intelligence education contents and constructed education programs. The contents are composed of a total of 15 lectures in 8 AI domains. The contents contain the elements of knowledge-skill-attitude, and 5 learning steps. The developed contents were organized in the form of online materials and included simulations and worksheets to directly manipulate and explore the concepts and algorithms of AI. In addition, we provided evaluation questions for each content. To examine the suitability of content, we conducted a validity test for experts. As a result of the content validity test, the overall average was .71 or higher, and the CVI value of the class suitability was .82, indicating a high validity. We are expected to use the contents developed in this study as an effective program to improve AI literacy in university liberal arts education.

Effects of Simulation Program using Immersive Virtual Reality: Meta-analysis (몰입형 가상현실 시뮬레이션 프로그램의 효과: 메타분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of simulation program using virtual reality (VR). Examination of databases resulted in identification of 1,415 studies of which 3 satisfied the inclusion data. Data analysis was performed using R version 4.0.2 to calculate the effect sizes, explore possible causes of heterogeneity, and check for publication bias, using a funnel plot. The mean effect size of the simulation program was medium (g=0.35), along with the skill performance (g=0.59), satisfaction (g=0.38), knowledge (g=0.21). Finally a funnel plot was produced to check for publication bias, but no significant bias was detected. Based on these findings, the simulation program using VR affects nursing education.

  • This study attempted to analyze the contents of the public library steering committee-related ordinances, derive problems and implications, and based on this, suggest the contents and supplementations necessary for the construction of the library steering committee ordinance. To this end, first, we looked at the theoretical background such as the significance and role of the public library steering committee, and the nature of the ordinance. Second, it was analyzed by dividing it into five areas: the status of enactment of ordinances related to library steering committee, whether provisions related to library steering committee are included, composition content, composition method, function, conference and regulation enactment, and allowance payment. Based on this analysis, it was mentioned that it is necessary to establish a department in charge of ordinances, a library steering committee, guarantee the participation of library directors and library experts, hold regular meetings, disclose minutes, and reflect the results of committee deliberation. In addition, when enacting a standard ordinance items containing the name, nature and role, composition, meeting, sub-organization, rule of the library steering committee.

  • In this thesis, for the assessment of software development process for project complexity and project size : one of digital watermarking algorithm is selected and examined. Digital watermarking provides a solution to illegal copying of digital contents and has many other useful applications, including web broadcast monitoring, transaction tracking, authentication, copy control and device control. This thesis focused on the method for customizing software development path, considering the project environments and characteristics. The selection standard of software development path is composed of process items, based on the ISO/IEC 15721 Information Technology Guide for ISO/IEC 12207 (Software Life Cycle Process) and ISO/IEC 15504 Information technology - Process assessment. To evaluate the algorithm, a system for selecting development path, which reflected algorithm, was examined.
