A case study on Metaphor forms of User Interface in HMD based Virtual reality FPS games (HMD기반 가상현실 FPS게임 인터페이스의 메타포 유형 분석 연구)

  • Today, the field that actively utilizes HMD, which is a representative implementation device of virtual reality, is game. We have frequently used interface design using metaphor to user interface of HMD based virtual reality game. The purpose of this study is to find out the metaphor types that appear in the game interface of the virtual reality FPS genre of HMD devices, which is a new medium. As a result of research, the metaphor types appearing on multiple interfaces have navigation, predictability-based, familiarizing, and physical world metaphor in terms of information perception and predictability-based and familiarizing metaphor in term of control action. It is considered possible to construct a correct mental model. It is expected that the stability-based metaphor to prevent user mistakes and the presentation metaphor to identify the identity of information space will be needed in the future.

  • Recently, cyber attacks are continuously threatening the cyberspace of the state across the border. Such cyber attacks show a surface which is intelligent and sophisticated level that can paralyze key infrastructure in the country. It can be seen well in cases, such as hacking threat of nuclear power plant, 3.20 cyber terrorism. Especially in public institutions of the country in which there is important information of the country, advanced prevention is important because the large-scale damage is expected to such cyber attacks. Technical support is also important, but by improving the cyber security awareness and security expert knowledge through the cyber security education to the country's public institutions workers is important to raise the security level. This paper suggest education courses for the rise of the best security effect through a short-term course for the country's public institutions workers.

A study on 3D Pottery Modeling based on Web (웹기반 3D 도자기 모델링에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, I proposed new system that a user makes modeling 3D symmetric pottery using mouse and can confirm the result immediately in internet browser. The main advantage of proposed system is that users who have no specialized knowledge about 3D graphic can easily create 3D objects. And a user can use it that has only PC connected network and mouse without additional devices as like expensive haptic and camera device. For developing proposed system, VRML/X3D that is International Standard language for virtual reality and 3D graphics was used. Because it was born based on internet that is different from other 3D graphic languages, it was able to interact and navigate with users. With those features and high completeness of 3D pottery realization using mouse considered, the system may be useful and is superior in performance to other pottery modeling system.

  • In this paper, we proposed new sensor network architecture with autonomous robots based on beacon mode and implemented real time monitoring system in real test-bed environment. The proposed scheme offers beacon based real-time scheduling for reliable association process with parent nodes and dynamically assigns network address by using NAA (Next Address Assignment) mechanism. For the large scale multi-sensor processing, our real-time monitoring system accomplished the intelligent database processing, which can generate not only the alert messages to the civilians but also process various sensing data such as fire, air, temperature and etc. Moreover, we also developed mobile robot which can support network mobility. Though the performance evaluation by using real test-bed system, we illustrate that our proposed system demonstrates promising performance for emergence monitoring systems.

A Study on the Realization Aspect of "the Reading a Book per Semester" in the Learning Activities of High school Korean Textbooks (고등학교 『국어』 교과서 내 한 학기 한 권 읽기 학습활동의 실현 양상 연구)

  • The primary purpose of this study is to analyze the learning activities of "the Reading a Book per Semester" with the goal of finding ways to collaborate with the school library. "the Reading a Book per Semester" is a program that requires students to read during the timetable-designated "Korean" class instead of encouraging students to read outside of class, as has been the case thus far. The program was designed by 3 parts: reading, sharing, and formulating. However, an analysis of 11 Korean textbooks and 22 approaches to the program showed that the model has shifted to . Under this new model, schools could expand each step in the following ways: utilize the school libraries more as the book search space during the selection process; include writing a reading diary in the reading process; and further encourage students to read outside of the classrooms in the formulating step. If these amendments were to be applied, they would strengthen the educational purpose of the school libraries within schools.

  • These papers propose an evolutionary algorithm for re-using output of waste fuel of light water reactor system in nuclear power plants. Evolutionary algorithm is useful for optimization of the large space problem. The wastes contain several re-useable elements, and they should be carefully selected and blended to satisfy requirements as input material to the heavy water nuclear reactor system. This problem belongs to a NP-hard like the 0/1 Knapsack problem. Two evolutionary strategies are used as a, pp.oximation algorithms in the highly constrained combinatorial optimization problem. One is the traditional strategy, using random operator with evaluation function, and the other is heuristic based search that uses the vector operator reducing between goal and current status. We also show the method, which performs the feasible teat and solution evaluation by using the vectorized data in problem. Finally, We compare the simulation results of using random operator and vector operator for such combinatorial optimization problems.

An Evaluation on Management Types by Characteristics of Urban Parks (도시공원 특성에 따른 관리유형의 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest customized management methods tailored to the characteristics of each type of park. Related literature was reviewed to determine the types of and management methods for urban parks to discuss the possibility of the involvement of citizens in park management and committing park management to the private sector. As a result of analyzing the literature, it has been found that each park should be managed separately according to its type in light of its characteristics and the strengths and weaknesses of each management method. For this reason, this must be a very important element for preventing damaging behavior at tourist destinations. First, natural mountainous parks are ordinary parks that do not require any professional management knowledge or skills. Accordingly, these parks should be managed by the districts in which they are located. Second, eco-oriented parks ask for specialized management. As domestic cases show, it will be advisable to commit the management of these parks to specialized, highly-experienced private organizations. Third, facilities-centered parks are large in size in response to the diverse needs of citizens, and it seems that a combination of different methods is better than merely sticking to any particular method.

  • The unit commitment problem in a power system involves determining the start-up and shut-down schedules of many dynamos for a day or a week while satisfying the power demands and diverse constraints of the individual units in the system. It is very difficult to derive an economically optimal schedule due to its huge search space when the number of dynamos involved is large. Tabu search is a popular solution method used for various optimization problems because it is equipped with effective means of searching beyond local optima and also it can naturally incorporate and exploit domain knowledge specific to the target problem. When given a large-scaled problem with a number of complicated constraints, however, tabu search cannot easily find a good solution within a reasonable time. This paper shows that a large- scaled optimization problem such as the unit commitment problem can be solved efficiently by using a parallel tabu search. The parallel tabu search not only reduces the search time significantly but also finds a solution of better quality.

Relationship between Global Citizenship Education and Geography Education (글로벌 시민성교육과 지리교육의 관계)

  • This paper is to explore the relationship between global citizenship education needed to be taught recently and geography. First, the paper examines the concept, as well as the reason why it became important concept in dimension of education in terms of progress of globalization. Second, the paper examines justification of global citizenship education through geography subject through discussion of place, space, scale and interdependence as geographical key concepts. Then, it establishes the category of sub-area of global citizenship education to grasp structurally. This is to reestablish in terms of knowledge and understanding, skill, value and attitude through the inductive examination of existing system of classification. Third, for geography instruction as practical dimension for fostering global citizenship, the paper discusses things to consider previously to design it in terms of aims, contents and methods, and examined instruction strategies in terms of issues-based approach and geographies of resistance. The last, the paper should things to pay attention to be cautious in global citizenship education through geography.

  • The aim on this thesis is to develop virtual construction designing experience web-site in order to help non-professional to predict the actual construction working result by self-construction design, provided by virtual reality program, sharing knowledge of architectural design and materials on internet to solve certain problems. The way of study is using case of virtual reality technology which is practically using in architecture era recently; in construction design, deducting realizable virtual reality technology of limitation and its solution; analyze case of construction designing program which is currently used by professionals; constitute required essential functions as UI(User Interface) when constructing. Followed by result of study, as a proposal, in service, technical, and UI sectors are the way to construct its objectives for internet based virtual construction experience web-site.
