The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of the present status of the Jeollanamdo's geographical name task by analyzing it and to suggest ways to improve it. For this purpose, the theoretical review including the definition of the geographical name as the subject of the study is conducted. Also, by analyzing the current structure of geographical name, the enactment and improvement of the ordinance of the committee on geographical name, and the management of committee on geographical name etc, the problems of the geographical name task are derived and suggestions for improvement are proposed. The results of this study are as follows: First, as a plan to improve the professionalism of the organization and the officer in charge of the geographical name task, this study suggests the unification of the department in charge of geographical name task, the specialization of the official in charge, and the development of training and teaching materials related to the geographic name task. Secondly, in order to improve the ordinance and the management of the committee on geographical name, this study suggests the enactment and improvement of the ordinance of committee on geographical name, the guidance and the supervision of the establishment and operation of the committee on geographic name, the simplification of procedures of establishing and changing geographical name, and enactment of geographic name a Law.

This paper reviews international practices of naming undersea features, centered on SCUFN (Sub-Committee on Undersea Feature Names), and draws some implications for the newly announced undersea feature names in East Sea. Even though the history of the activities of naming undersea features in Korea is not long, recent years have witnessed considerable progress in finding and naming undersea features. In view of the guidelines for naming undersea features by SCUFN, it is evaluated that most of these names have been appropriately selected. But more justification should be made for specific terms using historical persons, symbolic term, and for two names proposed for those already listed in the Gazetteer. For further works on naming undersea features, three steps are suggested: first, conducting surveys and accumulating data on undersea features, second, naming and announcing newly found features and publicizing them, and third, making attempts to achieve international standardization of domestically announced names.

연안에서 12해리 밖의 배타적 경제수역을 포함하는 공해에서의 해저지명은 기구나 국가에서 지명 심의 제안을 IHO 산하 해저지명소위원회(SCUFN)에 요청하여 채택이 되면 정식 국제해저지명으로 인정받게 되고 해도 및 각종 지명자료에도 활용된다. 해저지명은 종종 영유권 주장의 근거로 활용되기 때문에 공해를 탐사하고 해저지명을 제안하여 채택하는 것은 국가적 차원에서도 중요한 일이다. 국가간 갈등 및 지역간 갈등을 유발할 수 있는 지명에 대한 제안 양식이 존재하지만, 제안자의 자유 기입 측면이 강해서 지명의 제안과 승인 및 적용을 위한 데이터베이스 관리의 어려움이 존재한다. 또한 지명 제안의 근거가 되는 각종 과학적 자료의 보존과 활용에도 제약이 크다. 본 연구에서는 해저지명에 대한 표준 마련의 일환으로 현재의 해저지명 관리 현황을 분석하고 S-100 기반의 해저지명 데이터 모델을 구축하였으며 그 결과 지명 분류를 고려한 데이터 모델의 초안을 완성하였다.

Geographical name is not only a spoken or written language that has been constructed as a linguistic element, but it is also a geographical phenomenon and a cultural element. Based upon this consciousness, the purpose of this paper is to examine current classification and management systems of the geographical names in Korea and to propose a new alternative classification and maintenance of the geographical names. In particular, the paper suggests three categories for the type classification of the geographical names: morpheme, linguistic change, and contestation types. In turn, this paper investigates the index of the geographical names contained in THE NATIONAL ATLAS OF KOREA (2007) on the basis of the preceding classification types in order to unveil the practical problems and limitations of the current classification articulated in the national atlas. This paper also proposes a new classification of the geographical naming that reflects the divisions of front and back morpheme of geographical names. Finally, from the discussions with the reinforcement of National Committee on Geographical Names, this paper invokes administrative and institutional protection and systematical management of the contesting and unofficial small scaled geographical names that have been set apart from the current geographical name standardization.

All of area we live in has its own geographic names. Even small size of rock under the water has its own name. They are called "marine geographic names". Marine geographic names can be classified two categories. One is a proper name; the other is an attribute name. Rocks, reefs and banks referred in the introduction, belong to the category of the attribute name. And there are certain standards to name marine geographic things. In this study, we conducted a case research with the aims to figure out how we name and use those three features that we consider dangerous factors for marine navigation. This study also focused on differences between the methods used to classify attributes of marine geographic names in the past and today. In addition, it reviewed and analyzed marine geographic names used by Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Administration (KHOA) on its own Nautical charts and conducted a case research on marine geographic names notified by Korean Committee on Marine Geographic Names. Based on research and analysis, this study presents future methods regarding marine geographic names standardization.

Based on the analysis of the appellation from a historical perspective and the diversity of the notation East Sea, this study was conducted to analyze the characteristics of cataloging records related to East Sea in 54 national libraries of the each country. The results are as follows. To begin with, while most of the East Sea-related records are concentrated in some specific national libraries such as the United States, Russia, and the Japan, there are five libraries that do not have one. Second, the title keyword of East Sea-related records was 67.9% for 'Sea of Japan', 29.6% for 'East Sea', and 2.5% for these terms shown together in the national libraries of each country. Third, the subject heading of East Sea-related records was 86.9% for 'Sea of Japan' or 'Sea of Japan(geographic name)', 1.2% for 'East Sea', and 11.9% for general subject heading or blank.

The results are as follows. To begin with, while most of the Dokdo-related records are concentrated in some specific national libraries such as the United States, Australia, and the United Kingdom, there are five libraries that do not have one. Second, the title keyword of Dokdo-related records was 76.1% for 'Dokdo', 17.6% for 'Takeshima', 0.4% for 'Liancourt Rock', and 5.9% for these terms shown together in the national libraries of each country. Third, the subject heading of Dokdo-related records was 54.9% for 'Tok Island (Korea)' or 'Dokdo', 11.2% for 'Takeshima (Japan)' or 'Takeshima', less than 1% for 'Liancourt Rock' and 'Dokdo/Takeshima' each, and 33% for general subject heading or blank.

The Personal Information Protection Commission shall be established under the direct jurisdiction of the President and shall independently perform affairs under its authority. It shall be comprised of total 15 members (5 members designated by the President, 5 members elected at the National Assembly and 5 members designated by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court), including one minister-level Chairperson and one vice-minister-level standing member. Main functions of the Personal Information Protection Commission include deliberation and resolution of major policies and improvement of ordinances and systems related to personal information protection, coordination of opinions among public institutions in regards to the management of personal information, recommendation of improvement such as suspension of infringement by a central administrative agency, a local government and a constitutional institution, and submission of annual reports on personal information protection to the National Assembly. The function and role of the Personal Information Protection Commission regulated by the current law are insufficient in terms of independence and authorities of protection agencies compared to the international standard or level of discussion. The Commission thus cannot play a sufficient role as an independent agency for efficient protection of personal information. Therefore, there is a need for law revision that revives the purpose of the establishment of the Personal Information Protection Commission.

한국원자력학회(KNS)를 비롯하여 전세계 38개국의 원자력학회가 가입하여 구성된 국제원자력학회평의회(INSC)는 페르미 원자로에서 인류 최초의 핵분열이 일어난지 50년이 지난 시점(92년)에서 향후 50년간 원자력 에너지가 감당할 역할에 대한 연구를 수행하여 지난 95년 5월 $\ulcorner$원자력 차기 50년의 전망(a vision for the second fifty years of nuclear energy)$\lrcorner$이라는 보고서를 발표한 바 있다. 인류의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 미래에 있어서의 원자력의 역할을 확인하고 그러한 역할을 수행할 수 있는 전략 수립을 위해 국제원자력학회평의회에서 지명한 회원들로 구성된 $\ulcorner$50년 전망위원회$\lrcorner$ 주관하에 전세계 약 5만명의 원자력 전문가들이 참여하여 작성한 보고서는 장기 에너지 수요 전망, 원자력 에너지 활용 전망과 실천 전략, 현안 문제 등 여러 주제를 폭넓게 다루고 있다. 이 자료는 우리 나라의 원자력 발전 사업이 에너지 자원 부족을 효율적으로 해결하고 경제 발전에 지대한 공헌을 해 왔음에도 불구하고 신규 원전 부지 확보난 등 여러 가지 어려움을 겪고 있는 시점에서 발표되었는데, 향후 세계의 원자력 산업 전망에 대한 객관적인 자료로서 활용 가치가 매우 높을 것으로 생각되어 그 내용을 간략히 소개한다.

Myopathy in primary aldosteronism is relatively rare disease in Korea. A 42-year-lod woman with hypokalemic periodic paralysis, proximal muscle weakness and hypertension was found to have myopathy associated with adenoma in the right adrenal gland. She showed marked elevation of muscle enzymes and myopathic pattern in EMG.
