Analysis on the Argumentation in Exploring the Pick's Formula Using the Geoboard of Graphing Calculator in Math-Gifted 5 Grade Class (초등영재학급을 대상으로 그래핑 계산기의 지오보드를 활용한 Pick 공식의 탐구 과정에서 나타난 논증활동의 분석)

  • This study was to find characteristics of argumentation derived from a discourse in a math-gifted 5 grade class, which was held for finding a Pick's formula using Geoboard function of TI-73 calculator. For the analysis, a video record of the class, transcript of its voice record, and activity paper were used as data and Toulmin's argument schemes were applied as analysis standard. As a result of the study, we found that the graphing calculator helped the students to create an experimental environment that graphing a grid-polygon and figuring out its area. Furthermore, it also provided a basic demonstration through 'data->claim' composition and reasoning activities which consisted of guarantee, warrant, backing, qualifier and refutal for justifying. The basic argumentation during the process of deriving the Pick's theorem by the numbers of boundary points and inner points was developed into a 'collective argumentation' while a teacher took a role of a conductor of the argumentation and an authorizer on the knowledge at the same time.

Comparative Research on Teaching Method for Multiplication by 2-Digit Numbers in Elementary Mathematics Textbooks of Korea, Japan, Singapore, and USA (한국, 일본, 싱가포르, 미국의 초등교과서에 제시된 곱하는 수가 두 자리 수인 자연수 곱셈 지도 내용의 비교 분석)

  • In this study, we investigated how multiplication by 2-digit numbers had been taught in elementary mathematics textbooks of Korea, Japan, Singapore, and USA. As a result of analysis, we found as follows. Korean textbooks do not teach the multiplication by 10 and the multiplication by power of 10, but Japanese, Singapore, and US textbooks explicitly teach related content. In the '×tens' teaching, Japanese and American textbooks teach formally the law of association of multiplication applied in the process of calculating the partial product of multiplication. The standard multiplication algorithm generally followed a standard method of recording partial product result according to the law of distribution, but the differences were confirmed in the multiplication model, the teaching method of the law of distribution, and the notation of the last digit '0'. Based upon these results, we suggested some proposals for improving the multiplication teaching.

  • The aim of this study was to develop the performance evaluation processing system in elementary schools. First of all, the researcher reviewed theoretical aspects of performance evaluation. Fuzzy was used to devise the system for learning course. The performance evaluation processing system has been applied to Practical Arts Subject in elementary schools, from which good results were obtained.

  • 본 논문에서는 다관절 평면로봇팔의 작업영역 및 기하학적 최적설계에 대하여 연구하였다. 관절 이 두 개인 평면로봇팔의, 공간적 효율과 관계되는, 작업영역의 면적은 해석적으로 계산할 수 있 으나, 세 개 이상의 다관절 평면로봇팔의 작업영역의 면적은 일반적으로 단순하게 해석적으로 해 를 구하기가 매우 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 두 개의 그래픽 RAM을 가진 마이크로 컴퓨터를 사용 하여 작업영역의 면적을 근사적 도식법으로 구하고 이것을 이용하여 미리 임의의 작업점들이 지 정되었을 때 이들 작업점들을 통과, 포함하고, 또 기구학적으로 최적인 작업영역을 갖는 로봇팔을 설계하였다.

송전선 철탑설계에 대하여

  • 근래 우리나라의 국민소득이 높아짐에 따라 가전제품의 수요가 늘고, 중화학공업의 발달에 따라 전력수요가 급격히 증가하고 있다. 이에 반하여 석유가는 매년 증가하고 있으므로 기력발전소를 지양하고 대용량의 원자력, 양수발전소, 석탄발전소가 건설되고 있는 경향이 있다. 발전소는 입지조건상 해안 또는 강변에 위치하고 있으며 수요지와는 거리가 멀고 또는 계통의 안전도(Stability), 신뢰도(Reliability)를 높이기 위하여 154KV와 345KV 송전선으로 전계통을 연계하고 있다. 송전선의 전력운송능력을 증대시키기 위하여 복도체 또는 사도체로 하고 있으며 전선도 ACSR에서 TACSR로 하는 나라도 있다. 현재 미국에서는 765KV Canada에서는 735KV 송전선으로 운전되고 있으며 장차 1500KV 송전선도 곧 실용화된다고 한다. 이에 따라 송전선의 지지물인 철탑도 대형화되어가고 높이도 증가하게 되어 이의 제작및 건설비가 막대하게 들게되며 앞으로는 용지확보도 더욱 어렵게 되어 송전선의 회전수를 2 또는 4회선으로 건설하여야 될것이다. 송전선철탑설계는 종래에는 Cremona도식해법에 의하여 설계하였으나 이의 작도및 하중조건이 많아지면 부재의 정확한 설계하중을 산출하는 데는 많은 시간과 노력이 필요하다. 이러한 불편을 헤소하기 위하여 Ritter의 수치해석법(moment 방법)을 이용한 전산화 및 설계이론에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

An Analysis of Division in the Elementary School Mathematics Textbooks (초등학교 수학 교과서에 나타난 나눗셈 지도 방법에 대한 분석)

  • There are differences in manner to be shown according to a basic point of view about knowledge in division which is traditional algorithm. The 1st and 2nd stage show didactic transpositions less systemic. The 3rd stage, which were influenced by the new math, uses logical mechanism. The 4th stage shows conceptual knowledge of the division independently. The 5th and 6th stage use concrete models which shows a course. The 7th stage constitutes contents systematically and shows many chances which focus on the formation of knowledge. The suggestions derived from such transition should be considered in the practice class and an elementary mathematics textbooks for meaningful learning.

Building Geometrical Concepts by Using both Examples and Nonexamples (범례 제시를 통한 도형 개념 지도 방안)

  • Skemp supposed that it is effective to use both examples and non-examples when new concepts which are upper level than learner's schema are introduced. The purpose of this research is to develop a practical process of teaching geometrical concepts based on Skemp's assumption. For this, the related literatures are reviewed and the Korean textbooks(4-ga, 4-na) are analyzed with respect to method of concept formation. The analysis to]Is that the textbook just explains Properties of concepts or present definitions, instead of giving the chance of inquiry. So we design and apply six step process of teaching geometrical concepts to 4th graders focused on students' inquiry using both examples and non-examples.'rho result turns out that using examples and non-examples is highly positive to concept formation.

  • This study investigates and proves the historical facts about the confidential land survey on Korean peninsula made by Japanese intelligence officers at the end of Chosun Dynasty. Under the command of general staff office of Japanese army, the military officers produced several maps through road map measurements and visual measurements. Although previous literature indicated road map measurements on Korea were originally implemented from 1885, this study confirms that road map measurements were initiated in 1882 by a lieutenant Isobayashi. Reflecting secret map making procedures, the individual military intelligence officers had specialized roles for swift information collection and map production.

A Scientific Study on the Characteristics of Ridge-end Tiles from the Temple Sites in the Period of the Sabi Baekje (사비백제시기 사찰지 출토 치미 특성에 대한 과학적 연구)

  • This study investigates the characteristics of ridge-end tiles excavated from temple sites in Sabi Baekje. Analyses were carried out to evaluate the chemical and mineralogical compositions of the excavated samples. All the samples except one from the Gunsu-ri temple exhibit a similar element distribution pattern in rare earth element contents. However, major and trace element contents differ because the mixing method used in each sample depends on the type of ridge-end tile. The mineral components of the tiles were grouped into three types, irrespective of the excavated areas. Group 2 and 3 were probably developed in high-temperature fires in comparison with Group 1; this is verified by the Fe2O3 content of more than 5 wt% in these samples. In conclusion, the raw materials utilized in each ridge-end tile are prone to have changed according to the time of use of the tile, regardless of the excavated site.

On the Effects of Multi Path Fading in B-CDMA Systems (광대역 CDMA 시스템에서 다경로 페이딩현상의 영향)

  • In this paper, it is shown that B-CDMA systems inherently reduce the effects of Multi Path fading phenomena which causes to degrade the performance of mobile communication systems. B-COMA systems use PN codes of high chip rates ( > 10 Mbps) and evaluate autocorrelation with the same code in the receiver. Therefore, it is possible that multipath signals, whose delay time is longer than one chip duration compared to the first signal, are removed. We model the wideband fading channel as a suitable linear filter, and perform computer simulation of signal transmission and reception. Graphic comparison of eye diagrams between the narrowband and wideband systems is shown.
