The purpose of this article is to critically read Globalizing Borderlands Studies in Europe and North America to examine trends in border studies conducted so far in Europe and North America and to discuss the expandability and limitations of the narrative. It introduces a variety of case studies covering the borderlands of Europe and North America from ancient to modern times. It consists of a total of 10 chapters, in addition to the introduction chapter to clarify the purpose and definition of the collaboration and the short conclusion chapter on the prospects for the future of borderlands studies. This volume has some important implications for current borderland research in two main respects. First, it can introduce us we the areas and targets that the leading researchers from European and North American academia (usually the United States') have paid attention to. It also examines the current status of borderland research and predicts whether it will be possible to study various border areas where exist in other regions (especially in Asia) based on accumulating academic achievements, as well as the possibility of expansion of so-called 'globalization'. Second, it introduces the borderland as a conceptual space, beyond the border area as a physical space that is commonly thought of when it comes to 'border'. Cases of "conceptual borderlands" can be applied to a number of topics ranging from an individual's identities to the methods of governance, religions, economies, social institutions, families, labor issues, public health services and gender issues. There are, however, also some questions to be noted in the volume: the lack of consistent use of terminology, which can be considered general problems of collaboration studies; the fact that the authors still tend to understand borderlands within the imperialist discourse, perhaps because of their academic background is situated mainly in Europe and North America; the borderlands cases described here as the areas of conflict and struggle only. Nevertheless, the book is of significance in that it suggests a possibility of various borderlands studies and helps us to have better understanding of the current geopolitical situation imposed on the Korean Peninsula, which is located on the borderland between the continental and maritime powers.

본 논문에서는 설악산 아고산대에 나타나는 산정형 암괴원에 관한 여러 가지 논의를 제시하였다. 이 암괴원은 산악인들에게는 너덜지대로 너리 알려져 있었으며, 설악산의 북쪽 황철봉과 귀떼기봉에서 대청에 이르는 서북주릉 상 화강암류의 기반암에 암괴원이 분포하고 있다. 이들 암괴원은 규모가 클 뿐망 아니라 암괴상에는 풍화쇄설물을 가지고 있는 나마(gnamma)와 그루브(groove)를 비롯한 많은 화학적 풍화에 의한 미지형들이 발견되고 있어 한반도의 제 4기 후반의 기후변화와 지형형성 영력을 연구할수 이는 기후지형학적으로 중요한 연구지역이라 하겠다. 본 논문에서는 추후 발표될 암괴원의 성인과 고기후학적 의의에 관한 논의에 앞서 먼저 분포지역에 대한 소개와 몇 가지 이론적 고찰에 관하여 논의를 제한하고자 한다. 국내에서는 테일러스, 암괴류 등에 관한 논의가 상당히 이루어지고 있으나 암괴원에 관한 본격적인 논의는 아직 시작단계에 있다. Landsat 영상에 의한 구조선 분석 결과 구조선 밑도는 설악산 지역에서 큰 차이를 나타내지는 않으며, 암괴원은 대부분 화강암 지역에서 나타나는 것으로 판단된다.

This study deals with the rent-seeking behavior that exist in cultural voucher from the viewpoint of culture and arts management. Art organizations open to consumers, producers and governments of the arts are dependent on the internal and external influence of an open system. Researcher has found rent-seeking in the course of introducing policies and legalization of the cultural voucher business which has been promoted in the direction of democratization of culture or cultural democracy. Cultural voucher business is a legal term. Although the government has increased the budget or tried to change the policies of the cultural voucher business, the implementation of the cultural voucher business has been opposed to the diversity of consumption and equity as the consumption of genre and the concentration of the capital region have increased. These results were structurally related to the process of legalization and rent-seeking behavior in bureaucracy. This study reaffirms that the efficient operation standard of the cultural voucher business is a balance between the choice of the beneficiary, the competition of the supplier, and access to the cultural voucher. And the theory of rent-seeking was applied as a criterion to analyze this balance. Thus, it is suggested that the criteria of evaluation and improvement to check the conservativeness of bureaucrats are needed to establish a legal system applied to the purpose of 'cultural democracy' and 'democratization of culture' ideology and to guarantee individual creativity and autonomy.

본 연구는 중국 기업들을 대상으로 가치 혁신 신제품개발 전략, 관리 방식, 학습 방식, 그리고 신제품 성과간의 관계를 살펴보고, 중국 고유 문화와 중국이 겪고 있는 환경적 변화가치 혁신 신제품개발을 위한 관리 방식과 학습 방식에 어떻게 영향을 끼치는지를 조사하였다. 본 연구 결과는 이론적으로, 가치 혁신 신제품개발을 위해서는 조합적 관리방식과 조합적 학습 방식이 필요하다는 점을 밝혀 주고 있다. 그리고, 중국 기업들은 이러한 관리와 학습 방식을 수행하는데 유리한 국가 문화와 환경을 갖고 있음을 보여 주고 있기 때문에, 국가 문화와 국가 환경이 신제품개발 관리에 영향을 끼치고 있음을 증명해 주고 있다.

지르코니아는 물리적 성질이 금속과 가장 가까운 세라믹이며, 색상이 치아와 비슷하여 치과분야에서 사용빈도가 증가하고 있는 재료이다. 지르코니아는 zirconium dioxide 결정체로서, 1975년 Garvie가 'ceramic steer' 이라고 명명하였듯이 기존의 세라믹과 비교하여 뛰어난 물성을 지니고 있다. 즉, 높은 내열성과 낮은 열전도도, 산성에서 알카리성까지 이르는 내화학 안정성, 낮은 열팽창성, 높은 강도 및 경도, 내마모성을 가지고 있기 때문에 이전부터 공업용 재료로 넓게 시용되어 왔다. 지르코니아의 상변 이를 이용한 toughening방법이 Garvie에 의해 제시됨으로서 세라믹의 최대 단점인 취성은 어느 정도 극복할 수 있게 되었고 이를 계기로 금관 및 계속가공 의치, 임플란트 지대주, 인레이, 온레이 등 치과의 여러 분야에 지르코니아를 적용할 수 있게 되었다. 최근에는 임플란트 매식체에 있어서도 그 적용을 시도함으로서 심미치과치료에 있어서 중요한 부분으로 자리 잡고 있다. 현재 지르코니아는 치과용 세라믹 중에서 가장 높은 기계적 물성을 보이기 때문에 구치부 에서의 사용 가능성이 시도되고 있으며, 코어의 두께를 감소시킴으로써 보철 술식에서 필요한 강도 및 심미성 두 마리 토끼를 잡을 수 있도록 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 이에 지르코니아의 역사 및 이론적 배경에 대하여 알아보고자 한다.

This study set out to analyze James Turrell's Skyspace works by applying the object relations theory, compare them with several modern architectural works with a sky window based on the analysis results, and check common and differentiating features between them. The findings were as follows: first, Turrell's Skyspace works shed new light on the images of the sky by projecting inner light to the outside; second, sky windows in architecture make the self-representation of inner space clear through the introjection of light; third, 'Hill of the Buddha' reflects the most general aspect of the object relations theory as the nature of projection found in Turrell's Skyspace is added to it; and finally, Turrell installed event-like spaces and steps in 'Roden Crater' to apply the introjection of others that was deficient in Skyspace.

The purpose of this study is to examine the socal policy of the Yoon Seok-Yeol government from the perspective of both policy and theory. Theoretically, the analysis reveals that the Yoon government attempts to build and implement a welfare system model that was distinctly different from the previous Moon government. The newly elected government adopted a welfare model known as 'welfare for the vulnerable.' This model inherits the welfare ideology of the conservative parties in Korea, which is the self-reliance welfare. The Yoon government continues to expand welfare and family support, which were promoted by the Moon government. However, in most other areas, the Yoon government pursues different policies than the previous government. In terms of policy, this study demonstrates that the social security policies of the Yoon government is insufficient to solve the welfare blind spot problem that is widespread in the Korean welfare system. Among the Yoon government's policies, there are only a few policies that can eliminate welfare blind spots, such as improving social assistance systems, introducing parental allowance, and promoting sickness allowances.

From 329 earthquake data in the Korean Peninsula, we separated the intrinsic and scattering quality factor ($Q_i^{-1}$ and $Q_s^{-1}$) using the Multiple Lapse Time Window Analysis (MLTW) method. For the homogeneous velocity structure, $Q_i^{-1}$ reduces the amplitudes of both direct and coda waves; $Q_s^{-1}$ diminishes the direct wave amplitude but enlarges the coda wave amplitude. Based on this phenomenon, MLTW method analytically derives theoretical curves and obtains $Q_i^{-1}$ and $Q_s^{-1}$ by least square fit with observation curves. This study is the first approach for the seismic stable region by MLTW method, and show that $Q_i^{-1}$ and $Q_s^{-1}$ in the Korean Peninsula are very low at lower than frequencies of 5 Hz. This low value seems to be related to the inactive tectonism of the Korean Peninsula.
