  • A fundamental study on the cooling apparatus inshore fishing boat and its operation characteristics in sea water cooling system were performed experimentally. The circumstance is giving the blow against fisherman with incoming-decreasing and the difficulty of crew's supply and demand and management. In addition, the depression of the external situation such as the plan of EEZ(Exclusive Economic Zone) proclaim is forcing them into improving their fishing condition. By this international and domestic surrounding, the development of a cooling apparatus inshore fishing boat is demanded sincerely. We investigated load characteristics as the pilot plant operation characteristics estimation which is based on the development of cooling system and optimum cooling apparatus inshore fishing boat. These results provide useful informations which are applicable to an actual design and show the possibility of application to other fields.

Performance Evaluation of the Hybrid Defrost Process in the Fin-Tube Evaporators of Refrigerators (하이브리드 제상 방식을 적용한 냉장고용 핀-관 열교환기의 제상 성능 평가)

  • The hybrid defrost process combined with hot-gas bypass defrost and electric heater defrost was experimentally evaluated about its defrost performance in the fin-tube evaporators of household refrigerators. Also the hybrid defrost process was compared with only electric heater defrost process. The defrost efficiency of the hybrid defrost process was shown two times higher than electric heater defrost process. The defrost time of the hybrid defrost process was shorten about 10%~50% than electric heater defrost process. Thermal shock after defrost process was decreased about 50% for the case of the hybrid defrost. It was found that energy consumption ratio of defrost process was reduced up to 7.4% compared with 22.4% of electric heater defrost at the condition of $25^{\circ}C$ ambient temperature.

  • In conventional heat and vent dryer, both sensible and latent heat could not be recovered from the exhaust air, but this problem could be solved by introducing a heat pump to a conventional dryer, having a connection with cooling, dehumidifying and heating of heat pump. In this work, HFC134a as a substitute refrigerant of CFC12 adopted in heat pump and a batch type is also introduced. The variables affected on the system performance are holding temperature of a drying chamber, bypass air ratio, degree of superheat and refrigerant flowrate, etc. The moisture contents were decreased curvilinearly in the range of $86{\sim}75%$ on the wet basis. Under the constant drying temperature, the face velocity plays an important role to the drying performance. The COPs are increased in accordance with the air velocity, on the other hand the SMERs are gradually decreased.

  • 본 연구과제는 유망상품인 "발전용 MCFC 모듈형 BOP" 중 가습기 내부에 장착되는 연료-물 Mixing 시스템을 개발하는 것이다, 가습기 내부에서 공급된 연료-물은 연료전지 스택(Stack)으로부터 가습기로 유입된 고온의 가스로부터 열을 공급 받아 증발 및 혼합과정을 거치게 되며, 스팀-연료 혼합기로 형성되어 개질기(reformer)로 공급되게 된다. 이때, 물과 연료의 공급 상태에 따라 균일한 스팀-연료 혼합기가 형성되는지가 결정되며, 경우에 따라서는 고온의 가습기 내부의 국부적 온도분포의 큰 차이를 발생시켜 용접부의 균열을 발생시킬 수도 있기 때문에, 가습기의 설계와 함께 중요한 장치로 여겨진다. 본 연구에서는 다양한 가습기에 적용이 가능한 Mixer 모델을 설정하고, Analytic calculation을 통한 노즐설계와 1pass/Full scale 성능 실험 장치를 통해 상용화를 목표로 추진 되었으며, 특히 노즐별 유량분배 변동율은 ${\pm}3%$ 이내로 달성하고, 스팀/연료 공급 비율은 2:1 이내로 달성할 수 있는 시스템을 구축하게 될 것이다. 최종적으로 개발 완료 시 다양한 가습기에 직접 장착하여 운전이 가능할 수 있도록 실용화에 중점을 두고, 보다 안정적인 성능을 나타낼 수 있는 제품 개발이 가능하리라 사려된다.

Effects of Oil and Internally Finned Tubes on the Performance of the Air-Conditioning Unit (전열관 형상과 냉동기유 효과를 고려한 공조기기의 성능예측)

  • Computer simulation model for predicting more accurately the heat transfer performance of the evaporator and condenser which have significantly affected on the performance of air-conditioner has been suggested. In this model oil and micro-fin tube used in a actual unit are considered to simulate the more realistic case. The effects of oil and micro-fin tube on the performance of an air-conditioner have been investigated. It is found that the present model requires higher pressure than the existing model due to the characteristics of the tube considered. However, it turns out that the present model is very close to an actual cycle. As the amount of oil inside the tube increases, condensation heat transfer coefficient shows a linear decrease irrespective of a kind of oil, while evaporation heat transfer coefficient increases slightly in the oil with low viscosity and decreases exponentially in the oil with high viscosity. Pressure drop in both evaporator and condenser increases linearly irrespective of a kind of oil. It is also found that the effect of the variation of oil concentration on the magnitude of two-phase region is negligible.

크라이오 펌프용 2단 GM형 맥동관 냉동기 개발

  • 고도의 진공 환경을 요구하는 반도체 생산 라인에 적용되는 고진공 펌프는 주로 복합 분자펌프와 크라이오 펌프가 사용되고 있다. 이 중 크라이오 펌프는 극저온으로 냉각되는 냉각판에 기체 분자를 응축 또는 흡착시켜 기체를 제거하는 방식으로 복합 분자 펌프로 무게가 가볍고 증발 온도가 낮은 네온, 수소, 헬륨 기체 제거에 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 상용화된 크라이오 펌프에 적용되는 GM 극저온 냉동기를 대체하기 위한 2단 GM형 맥동관 냉동기를 개발하여 기초 성능 시험을 수행하였다. 1단과 2단 모두 U-자형 형상으로 제작되었으며, 압력과 질량 유동 사이의 위상 조절을 위하여 오리피스 밸브와 이중 유입 밸브를 사용하였다. 개발된 맥동관 냉동기의 냉각 성능 목표는 1단(80 K)과 2단(20 K)에서 각각 45 W와 5 W이다. 기초 시험에서는 위상 조절용 밸브들의 개도와 작동 조건에 대한 냉각 특성과 부하 특성 시험을 수행하였다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 로터리 밸브 및 위상 조절 기구의 배치로 인해 고온부 형상이 복잡한 맥동관 냉동기를 크라이오 펌프로의 적용 편의성을 위하여 고온부 외형 구조를 단순화하였으며, 개발된 맥동관 냉동기와 기존에 크라이오 펌프에 적용되는 GM 극저온 냉동기를 비교, 고찰하였다.

  • 전자부품 및 시스템의 고속/고밀도화 추세에 따라 발열밀도가 계속증가하고 있다. 최근 팬티엄 II 급이상의 노트북 컴퓨터의 CPU에서는 칩당 발열량이 10W 이상으로 증가하고 있고 패키징 공간의 제한 때문에 소형히트파이프를 이용한 냉각이 많이 적용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 모세압구동력이 크고 생산성등이 고려된 편조 형태의 새로운 윅을 개발하였으며 , 노트북 컴퓨터의 CPU 등 소형 전자부품냉ㄱ가에 적용가능한 직경 3, 4 mm 히트파이프를 설계 및 제작하였다. 직경 3, 4 mm Miniature Heat Pipe (이하 MHP) 의 작동특성은 일반적인 중형히트파이프와 다르므로 MHP 의 열전달 특성 및 작동성능에 미치는 각종 인자들의 영향을 파악하고자 성능시험을 수행하였다. 고려된 작동인자로는 작동유체 충전률, 전체 파이프길이 및 증발부, 응축부길이, 설치 경사각, 윅의 가닥수, 열부하 등이다. 작동인자의 영향과 관련된 연구결과는 향후 패키징을 위한 응용연구의 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • This study was carried out the fundamental experiment to investigate the pervaporation process through NaA zeolite membrane for recycling the wasted isopropyl alcohol(IPA) in semiconductor cleaning processes. The NaA zeolite membrane used showed the excellent separation performance for full range of feed concentration and at high temperature operation. At 80 in operation temperature and 90 wt% IPA in feed concentration the separation performance was obtained about $1,500 g/m^2/hr$ in the permeation flux and more than 1,000 in the separation factor. In continuous operation of dehydration of IPA the average permeation flux was obtained about $1,000 g/m^2/hr$ at 80 and 90 wt% IPA feed concentration.

  • Performance and heat transfer characteristics of an air conditioning system filled with hydro- carbon refrigerants are experimentally investigated. Single component hydrocarbon refrigerants (propane, isobutane, butane and propylene) and binary mixtures of propane/isobutane and propane/butane are considered as working fluids in the air conditioning system. Performances of each refrigerant are obtained at several compressor speeds and temperature levels of secondary heat transfer fluids. The cooling capacity and the coefficient of performance are obtained as test results. Heat transfer data of selected refrigerants are achieved from overall conductance measurement. Average heat transfer coefficients at different mass fluxes are shown and they are also displayed for different heat capacities of the system. Experimental results show that some hydrocarbon refrigerants have better characteristics than R22.

Analysis on the performance characteristics of a variable-speed, roller-type vane compressor operating at low evaporating temperature (낮은 증발온도에서 운전되는 가변속 롤러형 베인 압축기의 성능특성에 관한 분석)

  • Performance of a variable-speed, roller-type vane compressor was evaluated at low evaporating temperature. First, an experimental investigation was conducted to examine the performance variation as functions of both outdoor temperature and rotating speed. For this purpose, a typical heat pump was implemented as a test apparatus to measure mass flow rate and power input. Secondly, computational investigations corresponding to the heat pump test conditions were performed to predict compressor performance using ORNL Map-Based compressor model. Results obtained from the heat-pump experiments showed that both mass flow rate and power consumption were sensitively dependent on both evaporating temperature and compressor speed as was predicted from the computational results. From the comparisons of both experimental and computational results, it was well recognized that the ORNL model was subjected to larger error in the accuracy of prediction as outdoor temperature decreased. When the outdoor temperature was above $-5^{\cire}C$, errors of predicted values corresponding to both mass flow rate and power consumption were estimated as $\pm$10% and $\pm$ 15%, respectively. Finally, it is suggested that the ORNL model needs to be re-evaluated if compressor map data tested below $-5^{\cire}C$(in evaporating temperature) are available.
