2011년 1분기에는 예기치 못한 일본 대지진과 중동사태 등으로 세계경제는 큰 타격을 입었으며 그로 인해 신재생 에너지 개발과 에너지 효율적인 경제구조 확립, 부품 소재 산업의 경쟁력 강화와 공급처 다변화의 중요성이 대두되었다. 이에 따라 한국 경제는 그 전략을 점진적으로 세워야 한다는 지적이 나왔다. 그러므로 우리는 이 시점에서 세계경제를 분석하고 한국 경제의 중장기적인 계획을 세워 보아야 할 필요가 있다. 다음은 삼성경제연구소에서 발표한 "2011년 세계경제 및 한국경제 전망"의 주요 내용을 정리 요약한 것이다.

지난 70년대 우리나라는 해외건설의 열기로 인해 외화수입은 물론 경제성장에 커다란 영향을 미친곳이 중동지역이었다. 그러나 중동지역은 우리에게 기쁨만 안겨준 곳은 아니었다. 70년대 말 중동지역에서 공사대금을 제대로 회수하지 못한 건설업체들이 속출하면서 곧바로 국내 경기에 영향을 미쳤고 한때 우리나라는 매우 힘든 고비를 넘겼다. 바야흐로 해외건설의 봄이 서서히 일기 시작하고 있는 이때 전문가로부터 중동지역 중 리바아의 건설경기전망에 대해 들어본다.

Korean overseas construction contracts reached 40 billion dollars in 2008. In this paper, the economic factors of "the record high growth since 1980's 'overseas construction boom' is investigated. Firstly, most of the contracts were made in the Middle East OPEC countries which made large scale construction investments with the increasing oil revenues... Secondly. large portion of the contracts is heavy industrial plants, in which Korean construction firms have enjoyed comparative advantages. Thirdly, Korean construction firms have been forced to pay attention to the overseas markets, due to the domestic slump of the construction industry.

The purpose of this study is on the expansion of trade between South Korea and Middle East Countries. This paper examines the existing state of the Middle East area. The Trade Intensity index and Trade Specialization index analysis enables to evaluate the trade between South korea and Middle east Countries. Hence, this study explains how to proceed the trade and shows some items for advancement in the market. And it gives also some products for vitalizing the export in South Korea. Furthermore, this presents the next-generation growth engines industry and develops new market frontier. In order to promote trade between South korea and Middle East area, korean government must be keep trying to make the FTA with middle east. and korean company must be improving to understand the local culture and to hire special for Middle East.
