  • Recently there has been a growing interest in digital preservation and digital curation with rapid increase of digital resource. This study aims to investigate the research topics and the course topics related digital preservation and digital curation. The course information is collected from the curricular of library and information science departments and archival science departments in leading countries such as US, England, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand. Title keyword profiling and network analysis were adapted to discover core research and education areas. The key topics in the abstracts of research papers and the contents of the course were also illustrated by these methods. In the research analysis, archival system is the biggest area of researches related digital preservation and digital curation. Courser analysis shows digital curation education and process is the important area of education. As a result of content analysis, plan and strategy is a notable topic of research and record management process is a major topic of courses for digital preservation and digital curation. In addition, format of digital resource is an important topic for research and courses.

  • This study explored the change in keywords and topics in newspaper articles related to schizophrenia after the Gangnam murder case. The study examined newspaper articles related to schizophrenia for five years before and after the Gangnam murder case. A semantic network analysis was conducted using the NetMiner 4.4.1 program. 610 articles between 2013 and 2018 were retrieved from 8 national newsletters. The most frequent core keyword was 'treatment' before the murder case, but 'incidents' after the case. Four topics were identified: 'becoming chronic if missing the time of treatment due to prejudice', 'being curable with early treatment', 'living an ordinary life with medication', 'being indicted as a murderer while impaired by a mental disorder' before the murder case. After the case, four topics were identified: 'committing murder for delusions, not misogyny', 'medication non-adherence leads to more impulsive behavior', 'claiming leniency for criminals due to the mental impairment', 'killing the police who were mobilized to stop stabbing rampage'. These findings suggest that newspaper articles should provide accurate information about schizophrenia to reduce prejudice and stigma toward patients with schizophrenia and other forms of mental illness.

  • This study analyzed the news media coverage of QRcodes in Korea over a 16-year period (2008 to 2023). A total of 13,335 articles were extracted from the Korea Press Foundation's BigKinds. A quantitative and content analysis was conducted on the news frames. The results indicated that the quantity of news coverage has increased. The greatest quantity of news coverage was observed in 2020, and the most frequently discussed topic in the news was 'IT_Science'. The results of the keyword analysis indicated that the primary words were 'QRcode', 'smartphone', 'service', 'application', and 'payment'. The news media primarily focused on the QRcode's ability to provide instant access and recognition technology. This study demonstrates that advanced information and communication technologies and the increased prevalence of mobile devices have led to a rise in the utilization of QRcodes. Furthermore, QRcodes have become a significant information media in contemporary society.

  • This paper provides a review of research in the area of child(hood) sexual abuse. Particularly, the paper focuses on understanding the direction of research trends in Korea on this topic by evaluating the methodological changes, diversity of topics, and factors associated with research participants. The systemic, comprehensive review includes 28 articles in 14 primary Korean Journals and 261 articles in "Child Abuse and Neglect" and "Child Maltreatment" published from 2000 to 2008. Foci of the reviewing process were; (1) Do the transition of research methods follow scientific saturation? (2) What are the main subject areas of the field? (3)Who are the research participants and from where were they recruited? The review finds that overall, the number of CSA studies fluctuated in early 2000, but remained stable which means that academic interests have remained along with the social concern. The Korean CSA studies are imbalanced in terms of scientific saturation. Studies with theoretical methods are short in numbers, but there is a rapidly growing number of research using qualitative approaches. The review also highlights that most quantitative research utilized cross-sectional survey methodology. The major research themes that were most frequently found were studies on factors associated with CSA and evaluation of treatment modalities. However, research on perpetrators and measurement scale development were rather rare. In the CA&N and CM articles, study participants are frequently recruited from mental health clinics or related social agencies. Korean samples usually come from schools than communities and young children and their mothers seem to be excessively represented. Balanced research efforts are strongly suggested.

  • Recently, artificial intelligence (AI) technology has progressed rapidly, and industries using this technology are significantly increasing. Further, analysis research using text mining, which is an application of artificial intelligence, is being actively developed in the field of social science research. About 125 laws, including joint laws, have been enacted under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in various sectors including marine environment, fisheries, ships, fishing villages, ports, etc. Research on the laws under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has been progressively conducted, and is steadily increasing quantitatively. In this study, the domestic research trends were analyzed through text mining, targeting the research papers related to laws of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries. As part of this research method, first, topic modeling which is a type of text mining was performed to identify potential topics. Second, co-occurrence network analysis was performed, focusing on the keywords in the research papers dealing with specific laws to derive the key themes covered. Finally, author network analysis was performed to explore social networks among authors. The results showed that key topics have been changed by period, and subjects were explored by targeting Ship Safety Law, Marine Environment Management Law, Fisheries Law, etc. Furthermore, in this study, core researchers were selected based on author network analysis, and the tendency for joint research performed by authors was identified. Through this study, changes in the topics for research related to the laws of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries were identified up to date, and it is expected that future research topics will be further diversified, and there will be growth of quantitative and qualitative research in the field of oceans and fisheries.

  • This study aimed to analyze the research trends of journal articles published by medical schools representing Korean modern. A total of 682 were selected from two journals published by Medical College in Keijo and Keijo Imperial University Medical Faculty. In results, the affiliations of authors who participated in Acta Medicinalia in Keijo included various schools and hospitals, and the authors' major was found to be similar in basic medicine and clinical medicine. In The Keijo Journal of Medicine, only school-affiliated authors participated, and 96.33% of the authors were majors in basic medicine. Co-occurrence network analysis was conducted on MeSH terms from the title of the article using MeSH on Demand, and the keyword that derived in both journals was 'erythrocytes', which analyzed the condition of red blood cells according to organs and diseases. In frequency analysis, a common area of research in both journals was the study focusing on blood and blood cells, and the study of anemia and tuberculosis, which were prevalent diseases at the time. As for comparing each journal, Acta Medicinalia in Keijo has focused on inflammatory diseases and clinical pathological studies in humans, and The Keijo Journal of Medicine has focused on anatomical studies on animals and pharmacological studies on medicines. Through this study, it was possible to identify the research topics and major keywords in two medical schools with different founding goals.

The text mining method was applied to the articles with information literacy' in the fields of the descriptor, title and in the LISA Database. Also, out of 214 journals that published these articles, those with the top ten highest frequencies were listed and analyzed. Research results show that 908 articles on information literacy were published in 214 journals and User training' and Students' were major descriptors in the sub-topic area of information literacy. Also, Reference Services Review and The Journal of Academic Librarianship are two key journals in IL research as they have the highest frequency of related articles and have shown increasing trends.
