Analysis Sound Insulation Performance of a Corrugated Steel Panel Through Modal Density (주름 강판의 모드 밀도에 따른 차음 성능 분석)

  • Corrugation of a corrugated panel dramatically increases the bending stiffness per weight. However, corrugated panels show lower sound insulation performance than that of the flat plate having the same weight. Especially, in a particular frequency region, the sound transmission loss significantly decreases. Main reason of the problem is known as the local resonance. A number of local resonance modes occur above a certain frequency band and modal density rapidly increases. In this study, we investigate the relation of the sound transmission loss and the modal density. Finally, we propose a design methodology in terms of the modal density to improve the sound insulation performance of the corrugated panels without weight increase.

  • In the corrugated steel panels used for railway vehicles, sound insulation performance is significantly deteriorated by local resonance effect. In this study, as a countermeasure, polyurethane foam is filled in the corrugated steel panel and glass wool layer is inserted in the layered floor panel, and then improvement effect of the sound insulation performance is experimentally estimated. Based on ASTM E2249-02, intensity transmission loss is measured and estimated on the corrugated panel and floor structure. The aim of the study is to identify how the foam filling and inserting glass wool layer improve the sound insulation performance of the train body structure in aspect of the weight increment.

Analysis on the Elastic Shear Buckling Characteristics of Corrugated Steel Plate in Accordance with Corrugation Shape (형상에 따른 주름강판의 탄성전단좌굴 특성 및 경향성 분석 연구)

  • This paper aims at comparing and analyzing shear buckling characteristics between sinusoidal corrugation shape and trapezoidal one. For this, I adopted the equal-length trapezoidal corrugation and sinusoidal one for the analytical models, and analyzed their shear buckling characteristics through linear buckling analysis and on its theory. Generally, the shear buckling shapes of corrugated steel plates are classified into local buckling, global buckling, and interactive buckling from the two buckling modes. Sinusoidal corrugation shape, unlike trapezoidal corrugation, does not have flat sides, which causes another tendency in shear buckling mode. Especially, the changes and different aspects of shear buckling on the boundary between local buckling and global buckling appear in different corrugation shapes. According to the analysis results, interactive buckling mode appeared on the boundary of local buckling and global bucking in trapezoidal corrugation. However, in the case of corrugated steel plates with sinusoidal configuration, interactive buckling mode appeared in the part where global bucking takes place. Besides, trapezoidal shapes are of advantages on shear buckling resistance in the local buckling section, and so are sinusoidal shapes in the global buckling section.

An Investigation of the Shear Buckling Characteristics of Sinusoidal Corrugated Steel Plates (정현파형 주름강판의 전단좌굴특성 분석)

  • Corrugated steel plates are made by fabricating thin steel plates to have trapezoidal or sinusoidal corrugation, and the corrugated plates are able to maintain high out-of-plane rigidity even when they are used instead of thick flat plates. Also, corrugated steel plates have almost no axial rigidity due to the accordion effect. Thus, if they are applied to the webs of plate girders, designing can be easily conducted so that the webs bear only shear stresses. However, unlike flat plates, the shear buckling of corrugated steel plates has very complex characteristics where buckling occurs due to the interaction of local and global buckling, besides local buckling and global buckling. For the investigation of the cause and characteristics of this interactive buckling, studies on sinusoidal corrugated steel plates are fewer than studies on trapezoidal corrugated steel plates. Therefore, in this study, the shear buckling characteristics of sinusoidal corrugated steel plates and the occurrence pattern of interactive buckling were investigated. For the calculation of shear buckling strength, a finite element program was used, and the analysis results were compared with the exact solution. In addition, the characteristics of buckling stress change and the change of buckling mode shape depending on corrugation thickness and shape parameter were analyzed, and by comparing these results with the results of a theoretical equation, the timing of buckling mode change was analyzed.

Sound Insulation Design of the Corrugated Steel Panel Considering Local Resonance (국부 공진을 고려한 주름강판의 차음 설계)

  • In a railway vehicle, corrugated steel panel is widely used for the floor structure because of its high bending stiffness and light weight. However, this panel shows lower sound insulation performance than that of the flat plate with the same weight. Especially, in a particular frequency region, transmission loss(TL) rapidly decreases and it results in the deterioration of sound insulation performance of the overall floor structure. This study identifies that the severe decrease in TL is caused from the local resonance of the periodic corrugated structure. TL decrease by local resonance is investigated by experiment and finite element analysis. Finally, design modification of the corrugation is proposed to improve TL and the effect is verified by experiment.

Especially, in a particular frequency band, transmission loss (TL) rapidly decreases and it results in the deterioration of TL of the overall floor panel. This study identifies that the remarkable drop in TL is caused from the local resonance of the periodic corrugated structure. This study shows that the frequency band of the TL drop can be controlled by the proper design of the corrugated structure. In addition, improvement effect of TL by attaching foam and glass wool is estimated by experiment. The purpose of the study is to provide the practical information for the improvement of the sound insulation performance of the corrugated steel.

  • 산업현장에서부터 실생활용품에 이르기까지 각종판재를 소재로하여 제작하는 가공품은 종류나 수가 매우 많다고 할수 있다. 이러한 제품들을 제작 하기 위해 여러단계의 성형 공정을 거치게 되며 원만한 성형공정 을 수행하기 위한 적절한 판재성형 제어방법으로써 다이곡률 반경의 변화나 블랭크홀딩가압정도의 부분적 변화로 드로잉률을 향상시키는 방법도 있으나 이보다 판재의 성형공정 제어방법에서 공구사이 상하에 비드 를 설치하여 판재를 성형할 경우 성형공정후 제품의 두께 분포가 비교적 균일해지고 드로잉의 마찰저항을 부분적으로 증가시키며 판재성형중 미끄럼 저항의 균형을 이루어 성형시킬 판소재가 절감도며 또한 성형중 주름을 억재하여 드로잉률을 향상시킨다. 다른 방법에 비해 비드는 설차가 간단해서 적절한 형상의 bead set을 선정하여 산업현장에서 실제 사용하고 있으며 또한 소재가 비드를 통과한후 탄성역에서 소성역으로 전환되기에 성형공정 이후 스프링백 현상으로인한 제품형상의 치수가 변하는 현상을 방지하는 효과도 기대할수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자동차용판재인 아연도금피막 강판으로 실험한 결과와 비드 이론식을 고찰해 보고자 한다.

Present Status and Prospect of LNG Strorage Tank (액화천연가스 저장탱크의 현황 및 전망)

  • 1992년 9월 현재 전 세계적으로 운전 중(건설포함)인 액화 및 인수기지의 LNG 저장탱크는 지상식-이중벽 금속 탱크, 지상식-맴브레인 PC 탱크, 지상식-자립식 내부탱크/PC 외부탱크, 피드식-RC(Reinforced Concrete) 보강둑 탱크, 피트식-이중벽 금속탱크, 피트식-자립식 내부탱크/PC 외부탱크 및 지하식 탱크의 7가지 유형으로 나 타낼 수 있다. 또한 액화천연가스를 저장하는 내부탱크 소재에 따라 9%Ni강 및 MEMBRANE(SUS304) 형식으로 대별할 수 있다. MEMBRANE 저장탱크 형식의 핵심기술인 MEMBRANE은 -162.deg.C의 LNG에 의한 열수축팽창에 견딜 수 있도록 스테인레스강판 (SUS304)을 사용하여 기하학적으로 특이한 주름진 형상을 갖도록 설계되었으며 주름 형상에 따라 프랑스의 테크니가즈(Technigaz), 일본의 가와사끼(Kawasaki). 미쓰비시 (Mitsubishi), 이시가와지마하리마(Ishikawajima-Harima)사의 멤브레인과 세계에서 3번째로 한국가스공사 연구개발원이 개발한 링디식 멤브레인으로 구별할 수 있다. 본 해설에서는 국내의 전국 천연가스 공급사업계획 및 건설현황을 검토하고 최근 전 세계적으로 널리 사용되고 있는 액화천연가스 저장탱크의 종류를 용량별, 년도별로 분석하여 전세계의 액화천연가스 저장탱크에 관해 소개 하겠다.

Multi-objective Optimization to Reduce Wrinkle & Thinning in Sheet Metal Forming of Ultra High Strength Steel (1.2GPa) (1.2GPa 강판의 판재성형에서 주름 및 성형성 향상을 위한 다중 목적함수 최적 설계)

  • Recently, Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS) sheet metal has been widely used to improve lightweight structures in the automobile industry. Because UHSS sheets have high strength but low elongation, it is difficult to control winkle and thinning for complex shaped products. The draw beads on die surface were introduced in this study to reduce wrinkle and thinning. The positions and strength values of draw beads were selected as design variables and optimized using finite element analysis. The beads positions and strength of a mold for B-pillar part were designed with the proposed optimization method. The accuracy of die design from optimization was verified by comparing with the results from 3-D scanned geometry.
