Study on the Validation of the Korean Version of Grindler Body Attitude Scale (한국판 신체태도 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구)

  • This study, the Grindler Body Attitude Sale developed by Grindler(1991) was adopted and validation to the Korean culture. 3-factors and 25 Items were constructed through item content analysis and exploratory factor analysis. and 3 factors named through the characteristic context are 'Awareness of the Body attitude', 'evaluation of the Body attitude', and 'management of the body attitude'. The result of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the fit of the 3 factor model was good. Korean version body attitude scale was positively relate to Body esteem, Concise Measure of Subjective Well-Being and Body Cathexis Scale. and negatively related Stress response scale. At the end, limitation and suggestions for the future research were discussed.

A Study of the Extended Service Norm Constructs Influencing Behavioral Intention and a Moderating Variable in Service Purchasing Situation (행위의도에 영향을 미치는 확장된 서비스 규범개념과 조절변수에 대한 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a service norm construct influencing behavioral intention in a service purchasing situation and investigate how the construct is related with other constructs in the theory of planned action model. Furthermore, a moderating variable, self-monitoring concept, in the model is considered. As a result, the influence of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived control on behavioral intention were all significant. Other consumers' norm was a significant factor affecting behavioral intention. Service provider norm, however, was not significant. In addition, self-monitoring played a moderating role in the model. The implication of this study is that service company or manager should consider service customer compatibility because focal customers are conscious that they face other customer's response.

A study on the improvement of ability of a creative solving mathematical problem (수학문제의 창의적 해결력 신장에 관한 연구 -농어촌 중학교 수학영재를 중심으로-)

  • In this paper, we study the methods of improving an ability of a creative solving mathematical problem belonging to an educational system which every province office of education has adopted for the mathematically talented students. Especially, we give an attention on a preferential reaction in teaching styles according to student's LQ., the relationship between student's LQ. and an ability of creative solving mathematical problems, and seeking for an appropriative teaching methods of the improvement ability of a creative solving problem. As results, we have the followings; 1. The group having excellent students who have a higher intelligential ability prefers inquiry learning which is composed of several sub-groups to a teacher-centered instruction. 2. The correlation coefficient between student's LQ. and an ability creative solving of mathematical is not high. 3. Although the contents and the model of thematic inquiry learning don't have a great influence on the divergent thinking (ex. fluency, flexibility, originality), they affect greatly the convergent thinking - a creative mathematical - problem solving ability. Accordingly, our results show that we should use a variety of mathematical teaching materials apart from our regular textbooks used in schools to improve a creative mathematical problem solving ability in the process of thematic inquiry learning. Also we can see that an inquiry learning which stimulates student's participation and discussion can be a desirable model in the thematic mathematical classroom activities.

The effect of semantic categorization of episodic memory on encoding of subordinate details: An fMRI study (일화 기억의 의미적 범주화가 세부 기억의 부호화에 미치는 영향에 대한 자기공명영상 분석 연구)

  • Grouping episodes into semantically related categories is necessary for better mnemonic structure. However, the effect of grouping on memory of subordinate details was not clearly understood. In an fMRI study, we tested whether attending superordinate during semantic association disrupts or enhances subordinate episodic details. In each cycle of the experiment, five cue words were presented sequentially with two related detail words placed underneath for each cue. Participants were asked whether they could imagine a category that includes the previously shown cue words in each cycle, and their confidence on retrieval was rated. Participants were asked to perform cued recall tests on presented detail words after the session. Behavioral data showed that reaction times for categorization tasks decreased and confidence levels increased in the third trial of each cycle, thus this trial was considered to be an important insight where a semantic category was believed to be successfully established. Critically, the accuracy of recalling detail words presented immediately prior to third trials was lower than those of followed trials, indicating that subordinate details were disrupted during categorization. General linear model analysis of the trial immediately prior to the completion of categorization, specifically the second trial, revealed significant activation in the temporal gyrus and inferior frontal gyrus, areas of semantic memory networks. Representative Similarity Analysis revealed that the activation patterns of the third trials were more consistent than those of the second trials in the temporal gyrus, inferior frontal gyrus, and hippocampus. Our research demonstrates that semantic grouping can cause memories of subordinate details to fade, suggesting that semantic retrieval during categorization affects the quality of related episodic memory.
