Structural Optimization of an LMU Using Approximate Model (근사모델을 이용한 의 구조최적설계)

  • This study suggests an optimal design process of an LMU, which is installed on the top side of offshore structures. The LMU is consist of EB(elastomeric bearing) and steel plate, and supports the vertical loads of offshore structures and assists its stable installation. The structural design requirement of the LMU is related to its stiffness. This study utilizes the finite element analysis to predict the stiffness. The stiffness of the EB depends on the size of the bearing. Thus, the design variables in this study are defined as the thickness, the width and the number of plates. Since the LMU has different loads for different locations, its stiffness should be designed differently. The multiobjective function is introduced to attain the target stiffness. In this process, the metamodel using the kriging interpolation method is adopted to replace the true stiffness.

Performance Evaluation of Wind Response Control of High-Rise Buildings by Damping and Stiffness of Outrigger Damper System (아웃리거 댐퍼시스템의 감쇠와 강성에 따른 고층 건물 풍응답 제어 성능 평가)

  • Recently, the concept of an outrigger damper system with a damper added to the existing outrigger system has been developed and applied for dynamic response control of high-rise buildings. However, the study on the structural characteristics and design method of Outrigger damper system is in the early stages. In this study, a 50 story high - rise building was designed and an outrigger damper system with viscoelastic damper was applied for wind response control. The time history analysis was performed by using the kaimal spectrum to create an artificial wind load for a total of 1,000 seconds at 0.1 second intervals. Analysis of the top horizontal maximum displacement response and acceleration response shows that outrigger damper systems are up to 28.33% and 49.26% more effective than conventional outrigger systems, respectively. Also, it is confirmed that the increase of damping ratio of dampers is effective for dynamic response control. However, since increasing the damping capacity increases the economic burden, it is necessary to select the appropriate stiffness and damping value of the outrigger damper system.

  • As the industry develops and quality of life increases, the concept of leisure is also changing. Bicycling is a healthy sport for exercising while enjoying nature, facilitating the enjoyment of a healthy life. As a result, the awareness surrounding bicycles has increased, and so has the interest in lighter and more luxurious carbon bikes. The number of domestic companies producing carbon bicycles frames is nil. In this study, we analyze the frames of existing foreign brands and analyze the deformation and stress concentration area according to the load of the frame, using the finite element analysis. In addition, we set up the range of stiffness based on the content of the structural analysis, to localize the carbon bicycle frame and famous foreign products, and compare the prototype with the stiffness by using bicycle molds for track races.

A Study on the Failure Characteristics of Equivalent Anisotropic Composite Plates (등가 이방성 복합재 평판에 대한 파손 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper deals with predicting comparable mechanical properties of laminated composite plates. The stiffness of an equivalent anisotropic composite plate is derived based on classical lamination theory. A novel failure criterion is defined to describe the failure behaviour of laminated composite plates based on micro-mechanics failure criteria. Finally, the theory's validation of finite element analysis results was verified. We concluded that this theory is very suitable for failure analysis of laminated composite plates for aerospace applications due to their relative simplicity and computational efficiency.

  • 생태유량은 하천에 서식하는 동·식물 등의 서식처 조건을 고려하여 갈수시에도 최소한의 하천생태계가 유지될 수 있도록 하는 유량이다. 이는 하천의 적정유량으로 적용할 수 있는 생태적 기준의 하나이며 수생생물의 물리적 서식처 적합도를 이용하여 산정할 수 있다. 특히 하천 생태계의 먹이 사슬 상층부에 속하는 어류는 서식처의 물리적 조건에 민감하므로 적절한 유량을 보장해 주는 것이 중요하며, 이러한 이유로 생태유량 산정에 어류의 서식처 조건이 주로 이용된다. 본 연구에서는 다목적댐의 건설과 준설 및 매립 등으로 유황 변동과 하류 염해 피해 등에 의한 하구 생태계 변화 등을 겪고 있는 섬진강 수계를 대상으로 송정, 겸백, 화개 세 지점에 대해 생태유량을 산정하였다. 이 생태유량은 섬진강 수계에서는 직접 측정에 한계가 있어 금강에서 측정된 피라미의 서식처 적합도 지수를 이용하였고, 지점의 하상재료 및 환경 조건을 반영하여 PHABSIM을 이용하여 산정되었다. 그 결과 송정의 최적 생태유량은 8.5㎥/s, 겸백은 2.26㎥/s, 그리고 화개 지점은 36㎥/s로 산정되었다. PHABSIM을 이용한 생태유량 산정 값은 지점에 따라 다소 과대 추정되는 경향이 있기도 하지만, 섬진강 수계의 해수 침투 등에 의한 염해 피해 대책 마련 등을 위해서는 산정된 유지유량을 확보하기 위한 해결 방안이 제시되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

The Effect of 16 Weeks of Resistance Training on the Fatigue Factor, Muscle Soreness, Oxidative Stress, and Myokine in Elite Weightlifters (16주 저항성 트레이닝이 엘리트 역도선수의 피로물질과 근 손상, 산화적 손상, myokine에 미치 는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of 16 weeks of resistance training on the fatigue factor, muscle soreness, oxidative stress, and myokine in elite weightlifters. A total of 10 subjects (six male, four female) participated in this study. The results were compared according to baseline, 8 weeks, and 16 weeks. Ammonia and Pi were increased through 16 weeks of resistance training, but this result was not significant. CK was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks and 16 weeks compared to baseline, while LDH was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks compared to baseline. The MDA of the oxidative stress factor was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks compared to baseline and 16 weeks, and TAS of the antioxidant factor was significantly (p<0.05) increased at 8 weeks compared to baseline. The IL-15 of the myokine was significantly (p<0.05) increased at baseline compared to 8 weeks and 16 weeks. In conclusion, 16 weeks of high-intensity resistance training may have a positive effect on peripheral fatigue factors, muscle soreness, oxidative stress, and myokine in elite weightlifters.

A Study on the Evaluation of Safety Stiffness from Ship's Mooring Bollards (선박 접안용 계선주의 안전 강성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • Mooring bollards are the mandatory facility in ports for they are the objects used to fasten the ship to its position at the berth. All the mooring bollards were installed following suggested sizes, numbers, materials and shape of installation according to Port and Fishing Design Standards. However, Korea has no management standard for use of mooring bollards to safety in ship berthing. In this research, the installation standard for mooring bollards including the holding power applied to mooring bollards in berthing was studied. Also, the performance of mooring bollards for minimum safety guarantee in berthing based on research of various specification by their sizes was analyzed. The analysis on mooring bollards was examined by each power on mooring bollards from the applied force in berthing divided into horizontal and vertical direction in order to examine the performance of domestic mooring bollards, the limit force is calculated based on detailed specification research result. As a result, the working stress according to the towing force was found to be at least 150Mpa and it was evaluated to be 60% of the limit strength. Also, by comparing each forces, the appropriateness was examined and the specification of maximum capability calculated. This performance evaluation method based on detail specification of mooring bollards will be expected to be useful to examine the appropriateness of mooring bollards for various types of vessel in berthing and to develop maintenance and management standard through the performance change evaluation referring to mooring bollard detailed specification changes.

DFT-Based Channel Estimation with Channel Response Mirroring for MIMO OFDM Systems (MIMO OFDM 시스템을 위한 채널 응답 미러링을 이용한 DFT기반 채널 추정 기법)

  • In this paper, DFT-Based channel estimation with channel response mirroring is proposed and analyzed. In General, pilot symbols for channel estimation in MIMO(Multi-Input Multi-Output) OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing) Systems have a diamond shape in the time-frequency plane. An interpolation technique to estimate the channel response of sub-carriers between reference symbols is needed. Various interpolation techniques such as linear interpolation, low-pass filtering interpolation, cubic interpolation and DFT interpolation are employed to estimate the non-pilot sub-carriers. In this paper, we investigate the conventional DFT-based channel estimation for noise reduction and channel response interpolation. The conventional method has performance degradation by distortion called "edge effect" or "border effect". In order to mitigate the distortion, we propose an improved DFT-based channel estimation with channel response mirroring. This technique can efficiently mitigate the distortion caused by the DFT of channel response discontinuity. Simulation results show that the proposed method has better performance than the conventional DFT-based channel estimation in terms of MSE.

Analysis of Hypertension Risk Factors by Life Cycle Based on Machine Learning (머신러닝 기반 생애주기별 고혈압 위험 요인 분석)

  • Chronic diseases such as hypertension require a differentiated approach according to age and life cycle. Chronic diseases such as hypertension require differentiated management according to the life cycle. It is also known that the cause of hypertension is a combination of various factors. This study uses machine learning prediction techniques to analyze various factors affecting hypertension by life cycle. To this end, a total of 35 variables were used through preprocessing and variable selection processes for the National Health and Nutrition Survey data of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As a result of the study, among the tree-based machine learning models, XGBoost was found to have high predictive performance in both middle and old age. Looking at the risk factors for hypertension by life cycle, individual characteristic factors, genetic factors, and nutritional intake factors were found to be risk factors for hypertension in the middle age, and nutritional intake factors, dietary factors, and lifestyle factors were derived as risk factors for hypertension. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data useful for hypertension management by life cycle.

An Experimental Study on the Flexural Behavior for the Slabs using the Suspending Deck plate (매닮 데크플레이트를 이용한 슬래브의 휨거동에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the this paper is experimentally to investigate flexural behavior of slabs with suspending the deck plate. The main experimental parameters are the depth and thickness of the deck plate, slab span, rebar and support conditions. Total number of six specimens were tested and manufactured in slabs under vertical load. Based on the results of the test, the flexural behavior for slabs is determined according to the vertical deformation of the slabs, regardless of the main experimental parameters. Bending rebar reinforcement in the rib cross-section specimens can be evaluated significantly higher initial stiffness, crack stiffness and flexural strength. Result of the comparison of the theory value appeared to be fairly well matched to average 1.05.
