Correlation between Subjective and Objective Cognitive-Linguistic Tests in Older Adults (정상 노년층의 인지-언어 능력에 대한 주-객관적 평가 간 상관성)

  • Cognitive-linguistic changes that normally accompany aging are often simply an annoyance, but in some instances they may herald a more perilous course of decline to a state of neurological disease. This study investigated the correlation between subjective and objective tests on cognitive-linguistic abilities in older adults and the predictors of objective performances. Healthy elders over 65 years of age (n=63) and their informants (n=63) completed the subjective and objective cognitive-linguistic tests (ISCOLE and CAPTBI) from July of 2015 to February of 2016. The main findings were as follows: performance on the self-report test was not significantly different from that on the informant-report test. Additionally, eight domains in older adults group and 15 domains in the informants group were significantly associated with performance on the objective test. Finally, language on the informant-report test was a predictor of several abilities including problem solving and memory on the informant-report test predicted executive function and language. The present study demonstrates that two groups have significant differences in correlation between subjective and objective tests on the cognitive-linguistic abilities, and there are more relevant domains in rating by informants. These findings have implications for the use of cognitive-linguistic evaluation and preventive intervention in clinical settings.

Meta-Analysis of Correlation Between Subjective and Objective Cognitive-Linguistic Tests : Focused on Normal Aging, MCI, and Dementia (메타분석을 통한 주·객관적 인지-언어 평가 간 상관성 연구 : 정상 노년층, MCI, 치매 환자를 중심으로)

  • Subjective cognitive-linguistic complaints in older adults contribute to the diagnostic and prognostic investigation of MCI or dementia. However, the utility of subjective test for predicting cognitive-linguistic decline is controversial. Few domestic studies have included the correlation between subjective and objective tests systematically. The current study analyzed 26 studies published since 2000, and the effect sizes of their correlation coefficients between two tests were computed. The results of qualitative analysis indicated that the number of subjects ranged from 26 to 657. Subjective tests included the self-report 75.4% and the informant-report 24.6%. In objective tests, memory comprised the largest proportion, followed by global cognition, and language, etc. As a result of meta-analysis, self-report test had the predictive value for dementia, and informant-report test contributed to discriminate among 3 groups. In the elderly group, self-report test was correlated with reasoning, and informant-report test with memory and language. In MCIs, self-report test predicted several abilities including language, and informant-report test signaled the future decline of domains like global cognition. Two types of subjective tests in dementia also represented memory, language, and global cognition accurately. This study provides evidence-based information to support relationships between subjective and objective tests for cognitive-linguistic ability in 3 groups.

The Effects of Older Driver's Subjective Evaluation for Driving Ability on Mobility and Subjective Well-Being (운전능력에 대한 주관적 평가가 고령 운전자의 이동성과 주관적 안녕감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate relationships among the older drivers' subjective evaluation and objective performances for driving ability, mobility and subjective well-being. Scores for mobility and subjective well-being were obtained using questionnaires. Diagram-based driving scenarios and driving simulation were used to measure subjective and objective driving abilities, respectively. The results can be summarized as followings. First, subjective evaluation scores of driving ability but not objective driving performance significantly correlated with mobility. Second, the higher level of mobility predicted higher life satisfaction, higher positive affectivity, and lower negative affectivity. Third, the older driver's higher scores of subjective driving ability induced higher level of mobility, which, in turn, increased life satisfaction and positive affectivity but lower negative affectivity. The results suggested that subjective rather than objective ability for driving is more important in determining the level of old driver's subjective well-being.

Mutual Perceptions among Clients, Agencies, and Consumers on the Evaluation of Ad Creativity: Extending Application of the Co-Orientation Model (광고 창의성 평가에 대한 광고주, 광고 제작자, 소비자 간의 상호인식 연구: 상호지향성 모델의 확장 적용)

  • This study explored mutual perceptions among clients, agencies, and consumers on the evaluation of ad creativity applying the co-orientation model. In order to investigate agreement, congruence, accuracy among three groups, they exposed to real commercials as stimuli and evaluated ad creativity of them in terms of four dimensions, such as originality, appropriateness, clarity, and relevance. Results indicated that agreement between agencies and consumers is relatively high, whereas one between clients and agencies is relatively low. Also, clients show relatively higher level of congruence, but agencies have relatively lower level of one. Accuracy between agencies' evaluation of ad creativity and clients' perception of agencies' view on ad creativity, and between consumers' evaluation of ad creativity and clients' perception of consumers' view on ad creativity would be relatively high. On the other hand, accuracy between clients' evaluation of ad creativity and agencies' perception of clients' view on ad creativity would be relatively low. Results showed that there is a need clients and agencies to consider on consumers' viewpoints on ad creativity.

  • We propose that a subjective image quality assessment based on objective image quality factors in order to evaluate objectively preference of consumers. In other words, we define objective image quality factors which are easy to accept by manufacturers and they are composed of subjective image quality assessment questionnaires. Also, portrait image is selected by stimulus in order to persue easiness of evaluation for the general subjects. Throughout a subjective image quality assessment model, we evaluate recognition of image quality by consumers and analyze the effectiveness of correlation in terms of the final image quality preference. Analyzing the relationship between image quality factors, we can figure out the preferable image quality and confirm the positive effects on consumers' recognition of image quality. In the results, there are strong relationship between preference and color reproduction, dynamic range, noise, and resolution respectively. especially, the characteristic of portrait, there is high correlation between color reproduction and preference.

  • 정보 접근의 편리성과 신속성, 검색의 용이성, 원문제공의 즉시성이라는 장점 때문에 이용자들은 전자저널을 통하여 정보를 얻으려는 경향이 강해지고 있다. K기관에서는 이러한 이용자들의 요구를 만족시키는 정보를 제공하기 위해 평가를 거쳐 전자저널 패키지를 선정하여 구독하고 있다. 본 논문은 고품질 서비스를 이용자들에게 제공하기 위하여 이용자들이 전자저널 재구독 요구를 할 때 영향을 주는 객관적이거나 주관적인 요소들이 있는지 연구하였다. 가설을 수립한 후 가설의 검증을 위하여 종속변수인 이용자들의 구독갱신 요구가 독립변수인 전자저널의 수록 종수, SCIE 등재저널 비율 등의 객관적인 요소 또는 이용자설문조사를 통하여 파악된 이용빈도, 이용의 편리성 등의 주관적인 요소와 상관관계가 있는지 여부를 분석하여 보았다. 분석결과 객관적인 요소들은 재구독 요구와 상관관계가 없었다. 주관적인 요소 중에서도 이용의 편리성은 상관관계가 없었고 이용빈도만이 재구독 요구와 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 즉 설문조사에서 이용자들이 이용빈도가 높다고 표시한 전자저널 패키지에 대하여 재구독 요구가 많았다.

  • The evaluations of ride comfort, handling, and steering feeling have been known as one of the dominant factors for vehicle performance assessment. However, those factors have not been analyzed in-depth in conjunction with general ride and handling design parameters. Thus, we have surveyed some previous studies dealing with subjective parameters and quantitative design parameters. We expect this paper provides some guidance to the future research on the field.

  • Objective and subjective methods were performed together for TPA analysis of acorn mook, and their correlations were analyzed. As the result of sensory evaluation, hardness and fracturability were most important factors for prediction of preference. Meanwhile, compression test with Instron Universal Testing Machine revealed that P1(maximum peak in first bite) was very effective factor representing the cheracteristics of first bite, and that P2 the latter peak in first bite) was valuable for prediction of characteristics of second bite.

Comparative on Impact of Qualitative and Quantitative of ERP Systems on Korean Firms (국내 기업 ERP 시스템 도입의 정성적.정량적 성과 비교)

  • As many companies have adopted and used ERP systems, concerns about ERP performance also have increased. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationships between qualitative variables and quantitative variables measuring ERP performances. Qualitative research, widely used in MIS research, typically examines perceived usefulness of ERP, such as information quality, system quality, system satisfaction. Quantitative research, often done in accounting research, usually examines ERP performance based on financial statements. An empirical study led to the following conclusions: 1) There were significant correlations among the qualitative variables measuring perceived usefulness of ERP; 2) Significant correlations were also observed among the quantitative variables based on financial statements; 3) However, no significant correlations was found between the qualitative variables and quantitative variables measuring ERP performance.

Item Analysis for Selecting Science Gifted Middle School Students at Physics Class (과학영재교육원 중학교 물리 전공 선발 문항 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the items that were used in entrance examination for science gifted education center for middle school students by using content analysis and classical item analysis. In content analysis, objective type items exhibited mathematics and physics were dominant. Science giftedness & creativity items were dominant. And essay type items consisted of physics items, have evaluated creative problem solving ability. Item difficulty and discrimination index, on the whole, were appropriate. Comparing with objective type, essay type has higher discrimination index. In correlation analysis between total score and score of each type of items, total score has the highest correlation with essay type items and science giftedness & creativity. It was recommended that mathematics, physics and chemistry items with focusing giftedness & creativity could give some implications for future selection methods of science gifted education center.
