Effects of Entertainment and Economical Efficiency on the Mobile Advertising Value and Intention (모바일 광고가치와 접속의도에 유희성과 경제성 변수가 미치는 영향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore variables that affect users' perceived value of mobile advertising and actual response intention and to analyze causal relationships among variables. In order to verify the relational significance, we built new research model and hypotheses based on the Ducoffe's model(1996). And we found out four independent variables such as entertainment, information usefulness, convenience, economical efficiency, and advertising impact's value as a mediating variable. Especially, we classified into four multi-age groups to investigate properly moderating effects through SEM(path analysis) and difference test. Therefore, it is academical and practical worth that we developed our model to appropriate on mobile advertising's unique property and that we verified our hypotheses and variables focused on age group, whereas previous research did not. For this, we surveyed 345 samples for conducting structural equation modeling in empirical approach. The results of this study supported the statistical significance of all hypotheses except but convenience.

A Hierarchical Server Structure for Parallel Location Information Search of Mobile Hosts (이동 호스트의 병렬적 위치 정보 탐색을 위한 서버의 계층 구조)

  • The development in the mobile computing systems have arisen new and previously unforeseen problems, such as problems in information management of mobile host, disconnection of mobile host and low bandwidths of wireless communications. Especially, location information management strategy of mobile host results in an increased overhead in mobile computing systems. Due to the mobility of the mobiles host, the changes in the mobile host's address depends on the mobile host's location, and is maintained by mapping physical address on virtual address, Since previously suggested several strategies for mapping method between physical address and virtual address did not tackle the increase of mobile host and distribution of location information, it was not able to support the scalability in mobile computing systems. Thus, to distribute the location inrormation, we propose an advanced n-depth LiST (Location information Search Tree) and the parallel location search and update strategy based on the advanced n-depth LiST. The advanced n-depth LiST is logically a hierarchical structure that clusters the location information server by ring structure and reduces the location information search and update cost by parallel seatch and updated method. The experiment shows that even though the distance of two MHs that communicate with each other is large, due to the strnctural distribution of location information, advanced n-depth LiST results in good performance. Moreover, despite the reduction in the location information search cost, there was no increase in the location information update cost.

Effect of Psychological Variables on Decision-making Time in the Online Centipede Game (온라인 지네 게임으로 알아본 심리적 변인이 의사결정 시간에 미치는 영향)

  • Given that nowadays things get very fast due to the pervasive use of the Internet and mobile devices, decision-making time can be an important variable in the online economic decisions. Although in experimental and behavioral economics, measures like scores or earnings are usually preferred, this study argues that the time variable can be dealt with as a new decision outcome. Thus, by selecting some psychological factors presumably impactful in the online context (i.e., incidental emotions, psychological distances, and individual's impulsivity), this study tested their effect on decision time in the online centipede game. As a result, the mean decision time in the game was longer (1) in the happiness condition than in the anger condition and (2) in the friend condition than in the stranger condition. The people with attention difficulties spent a short time in the decision and the people who dislike complex problems spent a short time in explaining their decision. This study can contribute to the field as it used the decision time as the dependent variable and it tested the effect of psychological factors in the context of online decision-making. Future studies can be conducted in other online decision situations or by considering other psychological variables.

Types and Functions of English Hedges at a syntax-pragmatics Interface (통사화용의 접합면에서 본 영어 헤지표현의 유형과 기능)

  • This paper discusses English Hedges or Hedging Expressions on the basis of their morphosyntactic-pragramatic properties within the perspective of sociolinguistics. The term, 'Hedges' for the past decades since Lakoff(1973), has received little attention from the English grammar circles such as morphosyntax and the generative grammar theories. This paper presents a more comprehensive approach to the identification, distributions, functions, and the morphosyntactic properties of English Hedges. The earlier research on English Hedges in the 70's show that hedges are metalinguistic or mitadiscourse expressions which constitute a means for executing Politeness strategy in pragmatics. Nonetheless, research from the interface of syntactic-pragmatics has been scarce. This article suggests a more complex body of English hedges that have not been extensively discussed in the literature. Additionally, their configurational domain is to be proposed as part of the PolP with [±hedged] above CP+ (or CP beyond). The ramifications of the current study are suggested in terms of comparative linguistics, EFL/ESL studies of English for global communication, and pragmatics-sensitive machine translation studies in the forseeable future.

Study on implementation of Secure HTML5 Local Storage (안전한 HTML5 로컬스토리지 구현에 대한 연구)

  • HTML5 has developed not to have browser dependancy considering interoperability as same as maintaining compatability with lower versions of HTML. HTML5, the newest web standardization is on going of being structured. Along with the smart phone boom, HTML5 is spotlighted because it can be applied to cross platforms in mobile web environments. Specially the local Storage that has been listed in new features in HTML5 supports offline function for web application that enables web application to be run even when the mobile is not connected to 3G or wifi. With Local storage, development of server-independent web application can be possible. However Local storage stores plaintext data in it without applying any security measure and this makes the plaintext data dangerous to security threats that are already exist in other client side storages like Cookie. In the paper we propose secure Local storage methods to offer a safe way to store and retrieve data in Local storage guaranteeing its performance. Suggested functions in this paper follow localStorage standard API and use a module that provide cryptographic function. We also prove the efficiency of suggested secure Local storage based on its performance evaluation with implementation.

The Effect of Product Scarcity and Purchase Behavior in Location-Based Application Services (위치기반 어플리케이션 서비스에서 제품의 희소성과 구매행동과의 영향)

  • Location-based services have distinctive service characteristics compared to the past online commerce used on the desktop. In any place, mobile communication devices can be used to access online and utilize online shopping, and it is more convenient for users. In addition, by providing shopping and service information specific to each location, it is possible to provide convenience to the consumers according to their locations. In addition, it provides scarcity of information as well as location, thereby increasing consumers' desire to purchase. In this study, we investigated the effect of scarcity on the Purchase intention of consumers in location-based services. The steps of scarcity are: first, a step without scarcity, Second, providing time limit information, Third, providing quantity limitation information, Fourth, the experiment was designed to provide time and quantity limitation, and 4 groups were analyzed through experimental stimuli The purpose of this study is to verify the moderating effect of the dependent variable on the degree of scarcity by adding 'ubiquity', 'interactivity' and 'privacy' which are characteristics of location-based service. As a result of the analysis, scarcity of time and scarcity of quantity limitation scarcity stimuli showed a moderating effect on ubiquity, interactivity and consumer's purchase intention, and these variables also directly or indirectly affected positively. Consumer confidence was found to have a negative effect on consumers' purchase intentions.
