A Study on the Optimum Velocity of a Four Wheel Steering Autonomous Robot (4륜조향 자율주행로봇의 최적속도에 관한 연구)

  • A driver-vehicle model means the integrated dynamic model that is able to estimate the steering wheel angle from the driver's desired path based on the dynamic characteristics of the driver and vehicle. Autonomous driving robot for factory automation has individual four-wheels which are driven by electronic motors. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of several four-wheel steering systems with the simultaneously steerable front and rear wheels are investigated and compared by means of the driver-vehicle model. A diver-vehicle model is proposed by using the PID control to velocity and trajectory of control autonomous driving robot. To determine the optimum speed of a autonomous driving robot, steady-state circle simulation is carried out with the ADAMS program and MATLAB control model.

  • This study proposes a throttle and steering control technology using visual sensors based on deep learning's convolutional and recurrent neural networks. It collects camera image and control value data while driving a training track in clockwise and counterclockwise directions, and generates a model to predict throttle and steering through data sampling and preprocessing for efficient learning. Afterward, the model was validated on a test track in a different environment that was not used for training to find the optimal model and compare it with a CNN (Convolutional Neural Network). As a result, we found that the proposed deep learning model has excellent performance.

  • This study presents an approach for designing a vehicle rollover prevention controller using differential game theory and multi-level programming. The rollover prevention problem can be modeled as a non-cooperative zero-sum two-player differential game. A controller as an equilibrium solution of the differential game guarantees the worst-case performance against every possible steering input. To obtain an equilibrium solution to the differential game with a small amount of computational effort, a multi-level programming approach with a relaxation procedure is used. To cope with the loss of maneuverability caused by the active suspension, an electronic stability program (ESP) is adopted. Through simulations, the proposed method is shown to be effective in obtaining an equilibrium solution of the differential game.

  • The operation of heavy tracked vehicle has the problems in the steering that made by misoperations. The protection device is applied to the vehicles. But that device is applied to the vehicles. But that device has the engine stop and over load condition problems. the steering safety system is developed on the basis of clutch slip that proved the durability in the dynamo test and field test. The steering safety system caused the performance improvement of vehicles when steering.

  • There exists a structural limit of 2WS cars that drivers would not like simultaneously to follow the desired path and attenuate moments resulting from disturbances because lateral acceleration and yaw rate are coupled inherently. In order to overcome the limit, the 4WS cars that have rear wheel steering as an additional input have been introduced. But the 4WS cars have disadvantages that much cost is required due to structural alteration, it is difficult to be used to the driving circumstances and tire performances are not efficient in nonlinear or large lateral acceleration ranges. Therefore, it is proposed that, in this paper, a robust controller is easy to apply to 2WS cars by using direct yaw moment, decouples lateral acceleration from yaw motion and is robust against disturbances and uncertainties of system parameters, and thus the proposed control method has the advantages of 4WS cars which can be achieved in 2WS cars.

  • This paper describes a lateral guidance system of an autonomous vehicle, using a neural network model of magneto-resistive sensor and magnetic fields. The model equation was compared with experimental sensing data. We found that the experimental result has a negligible difference from the modeling equation result. We verified that the modeling equation can be used in simulations. As the neural network controller acquires magnetic field values(B$\_$x/, B$\_$y/, B$\_$z/) from the three-axis, the controller outputs a steering angle. The controller uses the back-propagation algorithms of neural network. The learning pattern acquisition was obtained using computer simulation, which is more exact than human driving. The simulation program was developed in order to verify the acquisition of the teaming pattern, teaming itself, and the adequacy of the design controller. The performance of the controller can be verified through simulation. The real autonomous electric vehicle using neural network controller verified good results.

  • The Column type Motor Driven Power Steering(CMDPS) systems are generally equipped among passenger vehicles ensuring better vehicle safety and fuel economy. In general to analyze systems and to develop a controller a full vehicle model from CarSim developed by Mechanical Simulation Incorporation interacting with MDPS control algorithm from Matlab Simulink was concurrently simulated. This paper describes the development of concurrent simulation technique in detail for analyzing Matlab Simulink MDPS control system with a dynamic vehicle system because the specific method has not been revealed in detail. The steering wheel angle input was evaluated and well compared with proving ground experimental data. The comparisons from concurrent simulation show an effective way to develop and validate the control algorithm. This concurrent simulation capability will be efficiently used for CMDPS performance evaluation and logic tuning as well as for vehicle handling performance.

  • 2008년 현재 우리나라는 10%의 인구가 60세 이상인 이른바 고령사회에 접어들었다. 노인 인구의 증가로 인해 노인이 여가생활 또는 일반생활을 보조하기 위한 보행 보조기에 대한 관심이 증가되고 있다. 대부분 동력이 없는 보행보조기를 사용하고 있으며 이러한 기구는 경사로 공간 또는 힘이 약한 노인들에게 취약성을 가지고 있다. 이에 동력형 보행보조로봇에 관심이 증가하고 있다. 동력형 보행보조로봇 역시 경사로에 있어서 편리성과 안전성을 높이기 위한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 보행보조로봇이 경사로에 진입 하였을 경우 기울어진 경사로의 정도를 인식하여 모터를 제어 한다. TILT 센서를 이용하여 기울이짐 정도를 측정 하였고, 또한 로봇의 전류 실시간으로 체크하여 로봇의 안전성을 향상 하였다. 제어 시스템 구성은 사용자의 보행의지를 파악하기위해 FSR 센서를 부착하여 조향장치로 사용하였으며, 경사로를 인식하기 위해 Liquid 타입의 TILT 센서를 사용하였으며, 모션 제어를 위해 DSP를 사용하였다. 본 제어 시스템을 보조보행로봇에 적용하였을 때, 보행보조로봇이 오르막 경사로에 진입시 기존보다 힘을 적게 사용하여 경사로를 진행하였으며, 경사로에서 브레이크 작동속도가 향상 되었다. 또한 내리막 경사로에서는 모터의 힘을 적게 사용하고 중력의 힘을 사용하여 이를 통해 전류의 소비량을 개선 하였다.

Development of a Model Based Predictive Controller for Lane Keeping Assistance System (모델기반 예측 제어기를 이용한 차선유지 보조 시스템 개발)

  • Lane keeping assistant system (LKAS) could save thousands of lives each year by maintaining lane position and is regarded as a promising active safety system. The LKAS is expected to reduce the driver workload and to assist the driver during driving. This paper proposes a model based predictive controller for the LKAS which requires cooperative driving between the driver and the assistance system. A Hardware-In-the-Loop-Simulator (HILS) is constructed for its evaluation and includes Carsim, Matlab Simulink and a lane detection algorithm. The single camera is mounted with the HILS to acquire the monitor images and to detect the lane markers. The simulation is conducted to validate the LKAS control performance in various road scenario.

  • This paper presents the development of a fuzzy controller for driving camera pan/tilt device so that the camera's viewing direction can automatically track a moving object. To achieve computational efficiency a non-contact type displacement follower is used as a feedback sensor instead of a vision camera. The displacement follower, however, is extremely sensitive to object's lighting condition and results in unstable response at high speed. To this end, a fuzzy controller is developed in such a way to provide stable tracking performance at high speed where the sensory signal is subjected to intermittant disturbances of large magnitude. The test result shows stable tracking response even for high speed and non-uniform lighting condition. The resulting camera autotracking system can be adopted as an effective tool for visual transfer in the context of teleoperation and autonomous robotics.
