Helicopter Active Airframe Vibration Control Simulations Using an Exhaustive Test Method (Exhaustive 시험 기법을 이용한 헬리콥터 능동 기체 진동 제어 시뮬레이션)

  • The number and locations of force generators and their force directions of Active Vibration Control System(AVCS) are important to maximize the airframe vibration reduction performance of helicopters. The present AVCS simulation using an exhaustive test method attempts to determine the best number and locations of force generators and their force directions for maximization of the airframe vibration reduction performance of UH-60A helicopter at 158 knots. The 4P hub vibratory loads of the UH-60A helicopter are calculated using DYMORE II, a nonlinear multibody dynamics analysis code, and MSC.NASTRAN is used to predict the vibration responses of the UH-60A airframe. The AVCS framework with an exhaustive test method is constructed using MATLAB Simulink. As a result, when applying AVCS with the optimal combination of the force generators, the 4P airframe vibration responses of UH-60A helicopter are reduced by from 19.35% to 98.07% compared to the baseline results without AVCS.

Lateral Resistance Behavior Analysis of Drilled Shafts in Multi-layered Soil (다층지반에 근입된 현장타설말뚝의 수평 지지거동분석)

  • In this research, load-transfer-function method was selected, because that is widely used in geotechnical engineering among the analysis methods to verify the behavior of load-lateral displacement. Lateral loading test of field scale was conducted, this measured data was analyzed. From the analysis, the model of load-lateral displacement was suggested. The test results were studied and compared to the commercial programs, 'LPILE', which contain the load transfer functions proposed before. By analysis of measure data of load-lateral displacement that expressed to several functions, $y=ae^{bx}$ model was the simplest and applicable to the field. In that case a value converged about 1.3, b value had a tendency to converge about 0.02. From the comparison analysis between measured data and load transfer function by 'LPILE', it is examined that if the lateral load is small, calculated displacements of them show a similar value compared to measured values. Furthermore, the bigger lateral loads, the bigger calculated values compared to the measured data. If the results are compared by Matlock-Reese method and Matlock-API method, Matlock-Reese method shows result of safe side because lateral displacement is calculated greatly relatively.

Estimation of Load-Settlement Curves of Embedded Piles Combining Results of End of Initial Driving and Restrike Dynamic Pile Tests (초기항타 및 재항타 동재하시험 결과를 조합한 매입말뚝의 하중-침하량 곡선 산정)

  • As the skin friction of an embedded pile is produced by the cement paste injected into the borehole, the skin friction cannot be evaluated by the end of initial driving test, which is conducted before the cement paste is cured. In addition, the total resistance of an embedded pile may not be properly evaluated during the restrike test if the base resistance is not fully mobilized because of the insufficient driven energy. The objective of this study is to suggest a new load-settlement curve of embedded piles by combining the results of the end of initial driving and restrike tests. Test piles are installed at fields by using the embedded pile method, and the results of the dynamic pile tests are analyzed using CAse Pile Wave Analysis Program (CAPWAP) after the end of initial driving and restrike tests are conducted. A new load transfer curve, which combines the behaviors of the pile base at the end of initial driving and of the pile shaft at the restrike, is suggested, and a new load-settlement curve is obtained. Subsequently, the resistances of the test piles are evaluated using the combined load-settlement curve, and compared with the results from the end of initial driving and restrike tests. The results showed that the resistances, which are evaluated using the combined load-settlement curve, may overcome the underestimation of the resistance because of the insufficient driven energy. In addition, the resistance resulted from the combined load-settlement curve may be more similar to that from the static load test because the suggested load transfer curve is closer to the behavior of the embedded pile compared to the results of end of initial driving and restrike tests. Therefore, this study demonstrates that the combined load-settlement curve may be effectively used for the evaluation of the bearing capacity of embedded piles.

Axial Collapse Behaviour of Ship's Stiffened Panels considering Lateral Pressure Load (횡하중을 고려한 선체보강판넬의 압축 붕괴거동에 관한 연구)

  • Stiffened steel plates are basic structural members on the deck and bottom structure in ship, offshore. It has a number of one sided stiffeners in either one or both directions, the latter structure was called grillage structure. At the ship structural desgn stage, one of the major consideration is evaluation for ultimate strength of the hull girder. In general, it is accepted that hull girder strength can be represented by the local strength of the longitudinal stiffened panel. In case of considering hogging condition in a stormy sea, stiffened panel was acting on the bottom structure under axial compressive load induced hull girder bending moment, also simultaneously arising local bending moment induced lateral pressure load. In this paper, results of the structural analysis have been compared with another detailed FEA program and prediction from design guideline and a series analysis was conducted consideration of changing parameters for instance, analysis range, cross-section of stiffener, web height and amplitude of lateral pressure load subjected to combined load (axial compression and lateral pressure load). It has been found that finite element modeling is capable of predicting the behaviour and ultimate load capacity of a simply supported stiffened plate subjected to combined load of axial compression and lateral pressure load It is expected that these results will be used to examine the effect of interaction between lateral pressure and axial loads for the ultimate load-carrying capacity based on the Ultimate Limit State design guideline.

Calibration of Load and Resistance Factors in KCI Code Based on Domestic Data (국내 통계자료를 이용한 설계기준의 하중저항계수 검증)

  • The load combinations in current KCI Design Code are determined with reference to those in ACI 318-05, which adopts the LRFD (load and resistance factor design) format. The load and resistance factors in LRFD format should be determined to meet the required levels of reliability index or probability of failure for various predetermined failure modes, which are also based on the statistical data reflecting locality and contemporary situation. However, the current KCI Design Code has been written utilizing foreign data, because of insufficiency in accrued data in Korea. This study considered the current safety levels of KCI Code based on published domestic data to evaluate appropriateness of the current KCI regulations. Based on the calibrated reliability index of the existing Code, the new resistance factors are suggested. The results presented in this paper can be considered as a basic research for establishment of unique design format for future Korean Codes.

3층 규모 건물이 있는 콘크리트 플로팅 함체의 설계 연구

  • 높이 2.5m의 콘크리트 플로팅 함체에 3층 규모의 상부골조가 있는 예제에 대해 동적 유체 해석과 정적 구조 해석을 수행하고 그 결과에 따라 종방향설계, 함체의 상부 및 하부 슬래브, 외벽 및 격벽에 대한 설계를 수행하였다. 환경 하중은 새만금 방파제 내부 정수역을 기준으로 파도주기 3.7초, 유의파고 1.0m와 풍속 40m/s를 적용하였으며, 하중조합은 ASCE/SEI 7-10을 기준으로 설계 하였다. 예제 구조물에 대한 설계 결과 고정하중에 의한 영향이 활하중 및 파랑하중에 비해 크게 나타났으며, 이로 인해 중앙부의 철근비가 높아지므로 고정하중을 감소시키는 방안을 검토하여야 함을 확인하였다. 또한 보의 지속하중에 의한 장기처짐과 추가적인 활하중에 의한 순간 처짐의 값이 허용 처짐값보다 크므로 보에서의 프리스트레싱을 고려해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

An Experimental Study on Joint Structures of Composite Truss Bridges (복합 트러스 교량의 연결구조에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Steel box girder bridges are being commonly designed for medium-span bridges of span length. Composite truss bridges with steel diagonals instead of concrete webs can be an excellent design alternative, because it can reduce the dead weight of superstructures. One of the key issues in the design of composite truss bridges is the joint structureconnecting the diagonal steel members with the upper and lower concrete slabs. Because the connection has to carry concentrated combined loads and the design provisions for the joint are not clear, it is necessary to investigate the load transfer mechanism and the design methods for each limit state. There are various connection details according to the types of diagonal members. In this paper, the joint structure with group stud connectors welded on a gusset plate is used. Push-out tests for the group stud connectors of were performed. The test results showed that the current design codes on the ultimate strength ofthe stud connection can be used when the required minimum spacing of stud connectors is satisfied. Flexure-shear tests were conducted to verify the applicability of the design provisions for combined load effects to the strength of joint structures. To increase the pullout strength of the connection, bent studs were proposed and utilized for the edge studs in the group arrangement of the joint. The results showed that the details of the joint structure were enhanced. Thereafter, design guidelines were proposed.

Structural Performance of Column-Slab Connection in Flat Plate System Using High Strength Concrete (고강도 콘크리트를 사용한 플랫 플레이트 구조의 기둥·슬래브 접합부 구조성능)

  • The reinforced concrete flat plate system provides architectural flexibility, clear space, reduced building height, simple formwork, which consequently enhance constructibility. One of the serious problem in the flat plate system is brittle punching shear failure due to transfer of shear force and unbalanced moments in column-slab connection. Since the use of high strength concrete recently has become in practice for reinforced concrete structures, it is highly desired to establish the structural design method for flat plate construction using high strength concrete. In this paper, interior column-slab connection constructed with high strength concrete were tested under lateral and gravity loads to evaluate their strength and behavior. The test parameters were slab reinforcement ratio and the gravity load levels.

원자로 냉각재 배관용 SA516-Gr.70 강의 파괴저항성에 미치는 온도 및 하중속도의 영향

  • 원자력 발전소 배관계통에 파단전 누설 (LBB) 설계개념의 적용을 위해서는 원자로 가동온도에서의 재료의 파괴저항성 평가가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 국내 원자로의 1차 냉각계통배관의 엘보우 소재로 사용되는 SA516-Gr.70 강의 파괴저항성에 미치는 DSA (Dynamic Strain Aging, 동적변형시효) 영향을 고찰하였다. 파괴저항성 평가를 위해 원자로 가동온도를 포함한 상온~50$0^{\circ}C$ 온도영역에서 준정적 하중에서부터 지진 하중 정도의 동적 하중까지 하중속도를 달리하여 직류전위차법 (DCPD) 이용하여 J-R 시험을 행하였다. J-R 시험결과, SA516-Gr.70 강은 특정한 온도와 하중속도의 조합에서 파괴저항성이 크게 떨어지는 양상을 보였으며, 낮은 파괴저항성을 나타내는 온도는 하중속도가 증가함에 따라 높은 온도쪽으로 이동하는 전형적인 DSA 감수성을 보였다. 인장시험을 통해서도 큰 폭의 serration 이 관찰되었으며 SA516-Gr.70 강에서 파괴저항성의 변화와 DSA 현상과의 연관성을 고찰하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 PSC 빔교의 안전성 검토에 대한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여, PSC 빔교의 구조안전성 검토 과정 및 방법에 대한 사례를 연구하였다. PSC 빔교의 구조안전성 평가를 위하여 대상 PSC 교량을 선정하여 단면특성 계산, 하중계산, 구조체에 대한 모델링, 하중조합 등의 일련의 구조해석을 수행하였으며, 설계하중 작용시 구조물의 각 부재에 발생되는 최대 단면력을 산출하였다. 본 연구에서는 최종적으로 이들 구조해석 결과를 이용하여 PSC 빔교의 슬래브 및 슬래브와 PSC 빔의 합성단면에 대한 구조안전성을 강도설계법으로 검토하였다.
