Design of kitchen cabinet using complex link mechanism (복합 링크기구를 이용한 주방 상부장 설계)

  • Kitchen cabinets are essential furniture for storing the kitchen tools, but their high installed location makes it difficult for users to access the upper of the cabinets. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new type of kitchen cabinet that allows users to easily take out or store items by adding new height adjustment features while maintaining the function of the existing cabinet. For convenience and safety, an appropriate complex link mechanism is designed so that the selected floor, not the entire cabinet, can come down to a desired height with one operation. Moreover, the optimal descent path is set to prevent the floor tilting or interfloor interference during descent, and appropriate link shapes, lengths, and joint types are selected to implement it. FEA analysis is performed to ensure that the stretched complex linkage can support the load of the stored items and the feasibility of the height adjustable kitchen cabinet is verified through fabrication.

Improvement of Fatigue Life with Local Reinforcement for Offshore Topside Module during Marine Transportation (해양플랫폼 탑사이드 모듈의 해상 운송 시 국부 보강을 통한 피로 수명 개선에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, finite element analysis was performed to evaluate a method of increasing the fatigue life of the pipe connection structure commonly used in the topside structure of offshore platforms. MSC Patran/Nastran, a commercial analysis program, was used, and the critical structural model was selected from the global analysis. To realize the stress concentration phenomenon according to the load, modeling using 8-node solid elements was implemented. The main loads were considered to be two lateral loads and a tensile load on a diagonal pipe. To check the hotspot stress at the main location, a 0.01 mm dummy shell element was applied. After calculating the main stress at the 0.5-t and 1.5-t locations, the stress generated in the weld was estimated through extrapolation. In some sections, this stress was observed to be below the fatigue life that should be satisfied, and reinforcement was required. For reinforcement, a bracket was added to reduce the stress concentration factor where the fatigue life was insufficient without changing the thickness or diameter of the previously designed pipe. Regarding the tensile load, the stress in the bracket toe increased by 23 %, whereas the stress inside and outside of the pipe, which was a problem, decreased by approximately 8 %. Regarding the flexural load, the stress at the bracket toe increased by 3 %, whereas the stress inside and outside of the pipe, which was also a problem, decreased by approximately 48 %. Owing to the new bracket reinforcement, the stress in the bracket toe increased, but the S-N curve itself was better than that of the pipe joint, so it was not a significant problem. The improvement method of fatigue life is expected to be useful; it can efficiently increase the fatigue life while minimizing changes to the initial design.

A Study of Joint Reliability According to Various Cu Contents between Electrolytic Ni and Electroless Ni Pad Finish (전해Ni, 무전해 Ni pad에서의 Cu 함량에 따른 접합 신뢰성에 관한 연구)

  • It has been used various pad finish materials to enhance the reliability of solder joint and recently Electroless Ni Electroless Pd Immersion Gold (the following : ENEPIG) pad has been used more than others. This study is about reliability according to being used in commercial Electrolytic Ni pad and ENEPIG pad, and was observed behavior of various Cu contents. After reflow, the inter-metallic compound (IMC) between solder and pad is composed of $Cu_6Sn_5$ (Ni substituted) by using EDS, and in case of ENEPIG, between IMC and Ni layer was observed the dark layer ($Ni_3P$ layer). Additional, it could be controlled the thickness of dark layer according to Cu contents. Investigated the different fracture mode between electrolytic Ni and ENEPIG pad after drop shock test, in case of soft Ni, accelerated stress propagated along the interface between $1^{st}$ IMC and $2^{nd}$ IMC, and in case of ENEPIG pad, accelerated stress propagated along the weaken surface such as dark layer. The unstable interface exists through IMC, pad material and solder bulk by the lattice mismatch, so that the thermal and physical stress due to the continuous exterior impact is transferred to the IMC interface. Therefore, it is strongly requested to control solder morphology, IMC shape and thickness to improve the solder reliability.

  • 현재 국내의 경우 4륜 승용관리기가 개발되었으나 성능 미비와 편이성 부족으로 승용관리기 및 부속 작업기 보급이 매우 저조한 상태이다. 3륜 승용관리기는 작업기 복부 장착으로 작업의 정밀도, 편이성, 관측의 용이성 향상과 함께 지상고 제고, 차폭 조절, 조향 등의 성능 개선을 기할 수 있다. 국내에서는 3륜 승용관리기용 복부 장착 부속작업기가 거의 개발되어 있지 않으며, 특히 두류 재배에 있어서 일관기계화 작업을 위한 관리작업기의 개발은 매우 필요한 실정이다. 승용관리기에 의한 중경제초는 잡초방제는 물론 물 빠짐과 토양 속 통기가 좋아지고, 지온 조절, 쓰러짐 방지, 부정근 발생을 조장하여 콩의 생육과 결실을 좋게 함으로써 수량이 증가되는 효과가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 3륜 승용관리기에 적합한 복부장착형의 중경제초기를 설계 제작하였다. 3륜 승용관리기용 중경제초기는 승용관리기의 복부 PTO에서의 구동력 전달을 위한 연결 조인트, 중간축, 기어 및 체인 전동기구, 구동축으로 구성된 동력전달부, 중경제초를 위한 5개의 로타리 날과 후방 1개의 제초날로 구성된 3조의 작업날, 경심 조절을 위한 바퀴, 다양한 조간거리에 적응을 위한 조간조정 나사부, 흙의 비산 방지를 위한 로타리 날 커버 및 케이스, 3륜 승용관리기에의 부착을 위한 프레임 및 부착보조 작업기 이동용 바퀴장치 등으로 구성 설계 제작하였다. 로타리 날은 기존 시판 관리기용 로타리 중경 날을 사용하였는데 진행방향에 역으로 회전하도록 하였고, 날의 회전반경은 약 330 mm, 조당 경운 폭은 약 250 mm, 최대 경심 100 mm로 설계하였다. 조간거리의 조절범위는 수동나사에 의하여 620~900 mm 범위로 무단조절 할 수 있도록 하였다. 중경제초기는 3륜 승용 관리기 복부의 평행링크에 부착되므로 작업기의 이동 및 부착 편이성을 위하여 이동용 바퀴를 설치하였다. 제작된 중경제초기의 크기는 길이${\times}$${\times}$높이가 $660{\times}2072{\times}880mm$, 중량은 약 200 kg으로 제작되었다.

  • 4륜 승용관리기는 보통 후방이나 전방에 작업기를 장착하여 작업하나 3륜 승용관리기는 작업기를 복부에 장착함으로 작업의 정밀도, 편이성, 관측의 용이성 향상과 함께 지상고 제고, 차폭 조절, 조향 등의 성능 개선을 기할 수 있다. 국내에서는 3륜 승용관리기용 복부 장착 부속작업기가 거의 개발되어 있지 않으며, 특히 두류 재배에 있어서 일관기계화 작업을 위한 관리작업기의 개발이 매우 필요한 실정이다. 승용관리기의 중경배토기에 의한 작업은 기존 인력에 의한 작업보다 약 87%의 노력을 절감할 수 있으며, 잡초방제 효과도 인력에 비하여 크게 떨어지지 않고, 수량도 증가하는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 3륜 승용관리기에 적합한 복부장착형의 중경배토기를 설계 제작하였다. 3륜 승용관리기용 중경배토기는 승용관리기의 복부 PTO에서의 구동력 전달을 위한 연결 조인트, 중간축, 기어 및 체인 전동기구, 구동축으로 구성된 동력전달부, 4개의 로타리 날과 후방 1개의 배토날로 구성된 3조의 작업날, 로타리 날과 배토날의 경심 조절을 위한 3조의 바퀴, 흙의 비산 방지를 위한 로타리날 커버 및 케이스, 다양한 조간거리에 적응을 위한 조간조정 나사부, 3륜 승용관리기에의 부착을 위한 프레임 및 부착보조 작업기 이동용 바퀴장치 등으로 구성 설계 제작하였다. 로타리 날과 배토날은 기존 시판 관리기용 날을 사용하였다. 로타리 날은 진행방향으로 회전하도록 하였으며, 날의 회전반경은 약 330 mm, 조당 경운 폭은 약 230 mm 설계하였다. 최대 경심은 100 mm이며, 조간거리의 조절범위는 수동 나사에 의하여 620~900 mm 범위로 무단조절 할 수 있도록 하였다. 중경제초기는 3륜 승용 관리기 복부의 평행링크에 부착되므로 작업기의 이동 및 부착 편이를 위하여 이동용 바퀴를 설치하였다. 제작된 중경배토기의 크기는 길이${\times}$${\times}$높이가 $660{\times}2072{\times}880mm$, 중량은 약 200 kg으로 제작되었다.

  • 3륜 승용관리기는 4륜 승용관리기에 비하여 작업기를 복부에 장착함으로 작업의 정밀도, 편이성, 관측의 용이성 향상과 함께 지상고 제고, 차폭 조절, 조향 등의 성능 개선을 기할 수 있다. 국내에서는 3륜 승용관리기용 복부 장착 부속작업기가 거의 개발되어 있지 않으며, 특히 두류 재배에 있어서 일관기계화 작업을 위한 관리작업기의 개발이 매우 필요한 실정이다. 콩의 순 지르기 작업은 콩이 지나친 생육을 한 경우 미리 줄기의 윗부분을 제거하는 저심처리를 해주면 곁가지들의 왕성한 생육을 유도하여 많은 꼬투리를 얻고 쓰러짐도 줄어들어 수량을 높일 수 있다. 순 지르기 작업은 보통 낫이나 배부식 예취기를 이용하여 작업함으로 노동력이 많이 들고 작업부담이 심하여 개선이 필요한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 3륜 승용관리기에 적합한 복부장착형의 순 지르기 작업기를 설계 제작하였다. 3륜 승용관리기용 순 지르기 작업기는 승용관리기의 복부 PTO에서의 구동력 전달을 위한 연결 조인트, 중간축, 기어 전동기구, 구동축으로 구성된 동력전달부, 2 조의 원판형 작업 날, 다양한 조간거리에 적응을 위한 조간조정 나사부, 3륜 승용관리기에의 부착을 위한 프레임 및 부착보조 작업기 이동용 바퀴장치 등으로 구성 설계 제작하였다. 원판형 칼날은 시판 중인 예취기의 외경 305 mm, 칼날 톱니 수 90개의 초경 비트 부착 날을 사용하였다. 작업 날의 승강높이는 150~540 mm 범위로 조절하도록 하였다. 조간거리의 조절범위는 수동나사에 의하여 660~860 mm 범위로 무단조절 할 수 있도록 하였다. 순 지르기 작업기는 3륜 승용 관리기 복부의 평행링크에 부착되므로 작업기의 이동 및 부착 편이를 위하여 이동용 바퀴를 설치하였다. 제작된 순 지르기 작업기의 크기는 길이${\times}$${\times}$높이가 $514{\times}1138{\times}810mm$, 중량은 약 100 kg으로 제작되었다.

Spalling of Intermetallic Compound during the Reaction between Electroless Ni(P) and Lead-free Solders (무전해 Ni(P)과 무연솔더와의 반응 중 금속간화합물의 spalling 현상에 관한 연구)

  • Electroless Ni(P) has been widely used for under bump metallization (UBM) of flip chip and surface finish layer in microelectronic packaging because of its excellent solderability, corrosion resistance, uniformity, selective deposition without photo-lithography, and also good diffusion barrier. However, the brittle fracture at solder joints and the spatting of intermetallic compound (IMC) associated with electroless Ni(P) are critical issues for its successful applications. In the present study, the mechanism of IMC spatting and microstructure change of the Ni(P) film were investigated with varying P content in the Ni(P) film (4.6,9, and $13 wt.\%$P). A reaction between Sn penetrated through the channels among $Ni_3Sn_4$ IMCs and the P-rich layer ($Ni_3P$) of the Ni(P) film formed a $Ni_3SnP$ layer. Thickening of the $Ni_3SnP$ layer led to $Ni_3Sn_4$ spatting. After $Ni_3Sn_4$ spatting, the Ni(P) film directly contacted the molten solder and the $Ni_3P$ phase further transformed into a $Ni_2P$ phase. During the crystallization process, some cracks formed in the Ni(P) film to release tensile stress accumulated from volume shrinkage of the film.

An Exploratory Study on Framework for Partner Relationships and Open Innovation Processes (파트너십 관계-개방형 혁신 프로세스 프레임워크에 대한 탐색적 연구)

  • Open innovation is a phenomenon that has been widely accepted by both practice and theory over the last few years. On the contrary, partner relationships have attracted little attention while the open innovation could not be emerged without the link to partners. This paper identifies and evaluates a framework for the partner relationships and open innovation processes. Based on the literatures regarding open innovation and partner relationships, we propose the framework of matrix type. We present results based on 352 open innovation cases reported during 2002-2009, and each case is classified into 5 different categories of the framework. JV-C(Joint Venture relationship & Coupled process) archetype has dominated the cases with 178 cases(50.6%) where JV-O(Joint Venture relationship & Outside-In process) follows JV-C with 124 cases(35.2%). No significant change has been found in the number of cases after 2003 when open innovation firstly suggested. However, the number sharply increases in 2009 by boom in JV-C and JV-O. These results show the importance of partner relationships and preference toward Joint Venture relationship in open innovation, while the conventional approaches has just focused on value-chain partnership. We find remarkable collaboration cases contributed by universities and government invested research centers, so the role of non-profit R&D organizations has also been discussed.

Evaluation of Crack Resistance of Cold Joint as Usage of Sealing Tape (실링 테이프 적용에 따른 시공조인트 균열 저항성 평가)

  • PURPOSES : In order to evaluate a crack resistance at cold joint, sealing tape was adopted to apply at cold joint instead of typical tack coat material(RSC-4). The sealing tape was made by hot sealing material. The crack resistance as function of environmental and traffic loading was measured with visual observation. METHODS : In this study, the crack resistance was evaluated as function of environmental and traffic loading. The freeze-thaw method was adopted for environmental loading of asphalt pavement. condition. The damage of cold joint under freeze-thaw action is initiated by ice expansion load and accelerated by the interfacial damage between new and old asphalt pavement. The traffic loading was applied with wheel tracking machine on the cold joint area of the asphalt pavement for 3 hours at $25^{\circ}C$. The evaluation of crack resistance was measured with visual observation. The freeze-thaw results shows that the sealing tape was significantly increased the crack resistance based on. RESULTS : To estimate the crack resistance at cold joint area due to the environmental loading, the Freeze-thaw test was conducted by exposing the product to freezing temperature(approximately $-18^{\circ}C$) for 24 hours, and then allowing it to thaw at $60^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours. The tack coat material(RSC-4) was debonded after 21 cycles of the Freeze-thaw test. The first crack was observed after 14 freeze-thaw cycle with RSC-4 material. But, the sealing tape was not debonded after 24 cycle test. Also, the sealing tape shows the better performance of the crack resistance under the traffic loading with wheel track test. The crack was generated the under traffic loading with RSC-4(tack coating), however, the crack was not shown with sealing tape. It indicates that the sealing tape has a strong resistance of tensile stress due to traffic loading. CONCLUSIONS :Based on limited laboratory test result, a performance of crack resistance using the sealing tape is better than that of general tack coat material(RSC-4). It means that the sealing tape is possible to extend a pavement service life because the crack, one of the main pavement distresses, will be delayed.

Multi-view Generation using High Resolution Stereoscopic Cameras and a Low Resolution Time-of-Flight Camera (고해상도 스테레오 카메라와 저해상도 깊이 카메라를 이용한 다시점 영상 생성)

  • Recently, the virtual view generation method using depth data is employed to support the advanced stereoscopic and auto-stereoscopic displays. Although depth data is invisible to user at 3D video rendering, its accuracy is very important since it determines the quality of generated virtual view image. Many works are related to such depth enhancement exploiting a time-of-flight (TOF) camera. In this paper, we propose a fast 3D scene capturing system using one TOF camera at center and two high-resolution cameras at both sides. Since we need two depth data for both color cameras, we obtain two views' depth data from the center using the 3D warping technique. Holes in warped depth maps are filled by referring to the surrounded background depth values. In order to reduce mismatches of object boundaries between the depth and color images, we used the joint bilateral filter on the warped depth data. Finally, using two color images and depth maps, we generated 10 additional intermediate images. To realize fast capturing system, we implemented the proposed system using multi-threading technique. Experimental results show that the proposed capturing system captured two viewpoints' color and depth videos in real-time and generated 10 additional views at 7 fps.
