  • Speed control systems of the governor in power station used in this study is organized by the regulator (PID controller), actuator and turbine. Considering parameter uncertainties and disturbances in this system, the performance may not be achieved by the PID control. Therefore, a design technique is necessary that accomplish the desired system performance tolerance in despite of plant uncertainty i\I1d disturbances. In this study, we used QFT(Quantitative Feedback Theory) to provide stable operation in power plant and presented the genetic algorithm for loop shaping approximation technique of QFT. And we designed speed control systems for the governor using the above approach.proach.

  • This paper present a methods for performance evaluation of digital governor and we treat the way to reduce the trial and error when the developed digital governing system is applied to station. The parameters of the model are estimated using input-output data, the model adjustment technique and a genetic algorithm(GA). To verify validity of the completed model, the comparision model and real output signals have been carried out. The developed digital governing system is applied to Sumjingang hydro-power plant, Korea Hydro Nuclear Power Corporation, it has replaced mechanical governing system. Test was performed in order to demonstrate the performance evaluation of the digital governor parameters.

  • The improvement of load following operation of the thermal power plant is influenced to the electrical quality. Analysis of boiler, turbine, and governor system, and the study of control algorithm are necessarily preceded. The thermal power plant is operated by various control systems. In the case of faulty governor system, it takes long days to solve the problem and impossible to repair the mechanism without outage. A non-planned outage is taken into consideration because of economical power production. The paper introduces the followings; In case of system-frequency drop during long term, at 500MW thermal power plant, the generator output was drop. To clear this problem, the control logic is modified with analysis of trend and control algorithm. As a result system frequency drop is prevented during the long tenn and the electric grid operation is improved.

  • 국내에 설치되어 있는 수력발전설비의 많은 부분이 노후화되고 있으며 디지털 시스템의 발전으로 발전소의 제어시스템도 디지털시스템으로 설비개체가 많이 시행되고 있다. 특히 부가가치가 높고 연구개발이 미진한 터빈 조속기 제어시스템 분야의 국산화가 시급한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 수력발전소 수차제어를 디지털 제어시스템으로 개발하기 위하여 기본 자료로서의 각 운전 단계별로 데이터를 취득하고 분석하여 제시하였다.

  • HILS(Hardware In-the Loop Simulation) is commonly used in the development and testing of embedded systems, when those systems cannot be tested easily, thoroughly, and repeated in their operational environments. HILS can be a useful tool to develop products more quickly and cost effectively and also reduces the possibility of serious defects being discovered after production. During the product development period, Design optimization and hardware/software debugging can be performed using HILS skill. This paper describes a HILS model for the STG(Steam-Turbine Generator) Simulator to prove the performance of the developed Digital Governor. It is developed using software technics which can confirm the responses of a real-time system.

Two-Dimensional Hydraulic and Numerical Modeling of tidal Currents in Chinhae Bay (鎭海灣 潮流의 2차월 水利 및 數値 모델링)

  • Two-dimensional tidal and tidal residual currents in Chinhae Bay are investigated by field observations, hydraulic and numerical experiments. The results of hydraulic and numerical model experiments roughly coincide with the field measurements. Maximum tidal currents during the spring and neap tides in Kaduk and Kyunnaeryang channel and the central channel of Chinhae Bay are strong as 90 to 110 and 30 to 40 cm/s respectively, and strong tidal residual currents having numerous eddies take place. Maximum tidal currents during the spring and neap tides in the western and northern parts of the bay are weak as below 30 and 10 cm/s respectively, and also tidal residual currents are relatively weak. Tidal residual currents in the northern part of Kajo-do go toward the north, whereas the currents in the southern part move down the bay, and the currents rotating clockwise occur around Bu-do. The surface currents in the bay depend strongly on the wind and river inflow, and such phenomena are more remarkable during he neap tide than the spring tide.

  • In this paper, Fault tolerant digital governor, using duplex I/O module and triplex CPU module and also 2 out of 3 voting algorithm and adding self diagnostic ability, is designed to realize ceaseless controlling and to improve the reliability of control system. The processor module of the system(SIDG-3000) is developed based on MC68EC040 32 Bit of Motorola, which guaranteed high quality of the module ,and SRAM for data also SRAM for command are separated. The process module also includes inter process communication function and power back up function (SRAM for back-up). System reliability is estimated by using the model of Markov process. The reliability of triplex system in mission time can be improved about 1.8 times in reliability 86%. 2.8 times in 95 %, 6 times in 99 % compared with a single control system. Designed digital governor system is applied after modelling of the steam turbine generator system of Buk-Cheju Thermal Power Plant. Simulation is carried out to prove the effectiveness of the designed digital governor system

  • This thesis aims at developing of a digita governor system for the steam turbine generator on the Buk-Cheju Thermal Power Plant of KEPCO. The steam turbine generator of the Buk-Cheju Thermal Power Plant is modelled. As a hardware platform, a triple modular system which is fitted 32-bit microprocessor of Motorola company to perform the digital governor system is used. The parameters of the PID controller algorithm in the speed control block is tuned on the basis of the estimated model.
