The Authentication System using Facial Recognition Technology (얼굴 인식 기술을 활용한 인증 시스템)

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴인식기술을 활용한 인증처리 기법으로 범죄에 악용되고 있는 ATM 기기와 같은 자동화 기기들의 사용을 정상적인 얼굴 촬영이 가능하게 얼굴을 들어내어 보여주는 사람만 사용이 가능한 방법을 제안한다. 범죄자나 수배자의 경우 얼굴을 데이터베이스에 등록하여 카메라로 인식된 얼굴과 비교를 통하여 찾아내는 것으로 얼굴인식이 활용되며 ATM 기기와 같은 자동화기기의 사용자가 정상적인 사용자인지 아닌지를 판별하는 방법은 정확하게 얼굴을 인식할 수 있도록 들어내었는지 여부에 따라서 판별이 가능하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 데이터베이스를 활용하는 방법 외에 정상과 비정상을 판별하는 기술을 제공하며 조명과 환경에 따라 변하는 인식률의 제고를 위하여 개선된 알고리즘을 제안하였으며 이를 검증하였다.

  • Recently, buildings are constructed increasingly higher and even more people are using elevators every day. Therefore, more efficient means of vortical transportation are required. Most of high-rise buildings is equipped with elevators. Unlike one elevator system, a multi-elevator system requires a function, which can distribute multiple elevators effectively. This paper examines a multi-elevator system, which has been modeling mathematically, in order to reduce waiting time and use elevators more effectively.

Control System for Smart Medical Illumination Based on Voice Recognition (음성인식기반 스마트 의료조명 제어시스템)

  • A voice recognition technology as a technology fundament plays an important role in medical devices with smart functions. This paper describes the implementation of a control system that can be utilized as a part of illumination equipment for medical applications (IEMA) based on a voice recognition. The control system can essentially be divided into five parts, the microphone, training part, recognition part, memory part, and control part. The system was implemented using the RSC-4x evaluation board which is included the micro-controller for voice recognition. To investigate the usefulness of the implemented control system, the experiments of the recognition rate was carried out according to the input distance for voice recognition. As a result, the recognition rate of the control system was more than 95% within a distance between 0.5 and 2m. The result verified that the implemented control system performs well as the smart control system based for an IEMA.

  • With the advantages of power savings, increased life expectancy and fast response time over traditional incandescent bulb, LEDs are increasingly used for many applications including automotive, aviation, display, and special lighting applications. Since the high heat generation of LED chips can reduce service life, degrade luminous efficiency, and cause variation of color temperature, many studies have been carried out on the optimization of LED packaging and heat sinks. In this study, a fin expansion type cooling device using heat pipe, instead of a solid aluminum heat sink, was designed for LED security lightings based on thermal resistance analysis. Numerical analysis and experimental validation were carried out to evaluate its cooling performance.

  • 인터넷의 발전과 멀티미디어 인프라의 성장으로 방대한 양과, 다양한 종류의 디지털 데이터들이 제작, 유통되고 있다. 디지털 컨텐츠는 기존 아날로그 컨텐츠와 비교 생성, 가공, 유통, 분배등의 측면에서 많은 장점을 갖는 반면, 원본과 동일한 복사물을 쉽게 생성할 수 있는 특징 때문에 디지털 창작물에 대한 저작권 보호가 중요시된다. 본 논문은 이미 유선 환경에서 디지털 컨텐츠 보호 기술로 각광 받고 있는 DRM(Digital Rights Management)을 토대로 무선 환경에서 디지털 컨텐츠의 보안을 위한 Mobile DRM (MDRM) 에 대한 설계를 목적으로 한다 설계되어진 MDRM은 Mobile 환경을 고려 키 교환 및 컨텐츠 암/복호 시 발생하는 부하를 줄이고 컨텐츠의 불법적인 유포 방지를 위한 SDMS(Secret-Key Distributed Management System : 비밀키 분산 관리 시스템)기술을 이용한다.

Study on Reinforcing Method of Equipment Foundation System (기기기초 시스템의 보강방안에 대한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to suggest the effective reinforcing method which can evaluate the tensile capacity of cast-in-place anchor with cracks. Currently, cast-in-place anchor is used widely for the fastening of equipment in Korean NPPs. 26 test specimens with a single anchor under 4 cracked conditions are prepared using plain concrete. The distance between crack and anchor and reinforcing materials were selected as the main test variable. The tensile force was applied using a actuator with a capacity of 100 tonf using a displacement control method of 0.5 mm/min velocity. Test results from this result show the combination of carbon plate and epoxy will be more available for repair and reinforcement of equipment foundation system in NPPs. Further experimental work is indeed involving the epoxy injection effect and adjustment of reinforcing location of carbon sheet.

  • We investigate the onsiderations of design issues for a bradband ATM network. Three kimds of network design requirement are considered ; user grade-of-service(GOS) requirements. Network manager requirements, and system designer requirements. In this work, e are focusing on the balancing problems among performance measures. We suggest that design parameters for a bradband ATM echange would be tuned within the acceptable sets by a layering concept on the peformance objectives.

  • Color segmentation takes great attentions since a color is an effective and robust visual cue for characterizing one object from other objects. Color segmentation is, however, suffered from color variation induced from irregular illumination changes. This paper proposes a reliable color modeling approach in HSI (Hue-Saturation-Intensity) rotor space considering intensity information by adopting B-spline curve fitting to make a mathematical model for statistical characteristics of a color with respect to brightness. It is based on the fact that color distribution of a single-colored object is not invariant with respect to brightness variations even in HS (Hue-Saturation) plane. The proposed approach is applied for the segmentation of human skin areas successfully under various illumination conditions.

  • A standard source was constructed, and then simulated its light distribution characteristics of the basic arrangements by shape, by angle, and by displacement. And it was constructed a light collecting holder of optical fiber lighting systems using RGB LED. As a result, we obtained the improving light collecting efficiency was improved 6.5 times with compared to existing systems.

  • This paper presents a wired and wireless linked remote control system. Ethernet based network communication is used for long distance management and 2.4GHz RF network is adopted for the local area communication between the main network and the ballast. For the effective remote control and management including dimming using wired and wireless linked digital communication networks, control circuit of the ballast is implemented with fully digital circuit using MCU and EPLD. In this paper, the proper frame structure is proposed for the digital-remote lighting-control system and the detailed system configurations including fully digital controlled ballast for the induction lamp are described.
