Diffusion Policy for the Gendered Innovations in Science and Technology Research (과학기술 연구개발에서의 젠더혁신 확산방안 - 성별특성분석 토대의 젠더혁신 지원정책을 중심으로 -)

  • Major advanced countries pursuing accountability for research and development are carrying out gendered innovations by recognizing the importance of sex and gender analysis in science research and technology development. Korea needs to actively promote gendered innovations as a strategy moving from Fast Follower to First Mover. In order to promote gendered innovations in the science, technology and ICT fields, policies of integrating the gender dimension in the process of research from research design to the analysis of research outcomes should be declared and research support measures should be introduced from the proposal evaluation for the gendered innovations. In particular, in order to support the new gendered innovations research systematically in Korea's R & D system, a legal basis must precede. In this study, we propose an amendment to the law related to gender innovation by analyzing the cases in foreign countries.

Elderly Speech Signal Processing: A Systematic Review for Analysis of Gender Innovation (노인음성신호처리: 젠더혁신 분석에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to review systematically the literatures on the research of the elderly speech signal processing based on the domestic gender innovation and to introduce the utility and innovation of the gender analysis methods. From 2000 to present, among the 37 research papers published in the Korean Journal, 25 papers were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. And gender analysis methods were applied to gender research subject and design. Research results show diversity of research field and high gender recognition of R & D team are needed in research and development of engineering of gender innovation perspective. In addition, government-level regulation and research funding should be systematically applied to gender innovation research processes in the elderly voice signal processing and various gender innovation projects. In the future gender innovation in the elderly speech signal processing can contribute to the creation of a new market by developing a voice recognition system and service that reflects the needs of both men and women.

Gendered innovation for algorithm through case studies (음성·영상 신호 처리 알고리즘 사례를 통해 본 젠더혁신의 필요성)

  • Gendered innovations is a term used by policy makers and academics to refer the process of creating better research and development (R&D) for both men and women. In this paper, we analyze the literatures in image and speech signal processing that can be used in ICT, examine the importance of gendered innovations through case study. Therefore the latest domestic and foreign literature related to image and speech signal processing based on gender research is searched and a total of 9 papers are selected. In terms of gender analysis, research subjects, research environment, and research design are examined separately. Especially, through the case analysis of algorithms of the elderly voice signal processing, machine learning, machine translation technology, and facial gender recognition technology, we found that there is gender bias in existing algorithms, and which leads to gender analysis is required. We also propose a gendered innovations method integrating sex and gender analysis in algorithm development. Gendered innovations in ICT can contribute to the creation of new markets by developing products and services that reflect the needs of both men and women.

  • Gender innovation refers to the act of producing more trustworthy science and technology based on gender analysis in conducting and development. Science and technology have been considered to be irrelevant to gender and gender analysis. Science and technology lost opportunity to market and sometimes caused massive losses due to the ignorance of gender and the concept of gender differences. Despite importance in the field of science and technology, the reason why gender innovation does not take place is the lack of woman science in science and technology. Further, the promotion of female scientists policy bas been pursued by the government is one of the reasons. The government has been forcibly carried out without considering 'performanceism' spreading in the scientific and technological fields. This research argues that scientific research brings gender perspective back into all the level of research conduct. In order to improve gender ignorance in science and technology, gender sensitive education should be provided to scientists. Also, gender governance and women's committee for gender analysis should be established to adopt gender analysis in scientific research.

  • 젠더혁신이란 과학기술은 젠더와 무관한 것을 간주해 온 기존의 사고 틀에서 벗어나 연구개발을 추진함에 있어 젠더분석을 기반으로 보다 신뢰할 수 있는 과학기술을 창출하는 행동을 말한다. 과학기술에서 젠더분석을 고려하지 않아 시장 확보의 기회를 잃고 막대한 손실을 초래한 경우가 종종 있었다. 이를 막고 젠더관점을 고려하기 위해 연구개발 전단계에서 젠더분석을 도입하고 과학연구를 위한 젠더 거버넌스를 구축해야 한다.

  • 국내 ICT 산업은 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖추고 경제발전에 크게 이바지 해왔으며, 현재는 4차산업과 다양한 산업들의 융합의 구심점으로 인식되며 앞으로의 경제 성장 동력으로 주목받고 있다. 이러한 ICT 산업을 국내외에서 다양한 모습으로 인식하고 있다. 그 중, 국내외를 막론하고 ICT 산업에 대해 존재하는 강한 스테레오타입은 ICT는 남성중심(masculine)적인 산업이라는 것이다. 본 연구는 이런 ICT산업의 남성 중심성이 서과에 이떠한 여햐을 주는지 고찰하기 위해서 2015년 중소기업 기술통계조사 결과를 활용하여 ICT 중소기업에서 젠더와 기술적 및 경제적 성과 간 관계를 살펴보았다. 공동연구선호여부나 R&D 지원을 받은 경험이 중소기업의 기술적 및 경제적 성과와 어떤 관계가 있는지 분석하였다. 특히 본 연구는 ICT산업여부와 여성연구원 보유여부가 정책지원과 성과의 관계에 영향을 주는 중요한 요인으로 보고 분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 ICT기업 중 여성연구원을 고용하고 있는 기업은 그렇지 않은 ICT기업에 비해 높은 기술적 성과를 보이고 있었다. 경제적 성과의 측면에서는 여성연구원을 고용하고 있으며 단독연구를 선호하는 ICT기업이 다른 ICT기업에 비해 높은 신기술개발 매출액을 보였다. 연구의 결과는 ICT 중소기업의 지원정책을 구상하는 정책입안자들과 여성의 ICT산업 고용 및 경제 활동 진흥 정책을 구상하는 정책입안자들에게 다양한 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대한다.

Genderless Trends in Modern Fashion (현대 패션에 나타난 젠더리스 경향)

  • The purpose of this study was to first look at genderless concepts that are different from Unix, and by grasping the trend of genderless clothes in modern fashion and examining their characteristics, we looked at genderless trends and characteristics in modern fashion. To this end, this study conducted a theoretical review and collection case analysis through domestic and foreign literature and fashion websites. Based on this, the characteristics of genderless clothes expressed in the collection were derived by analyzing designs with strong genderless tendencies in modern collections. As a result of the study, genderless fashion in modern collections could be derived from three visible results: innovation, rebellion, and future-oriented. In addition, modern genderless fashion contains various needs for mental gender and physiological gender, not simply physiological gender, and this is seen by interacting with the current social phenomenon in which gender distinction becomes ambiguous. Understanding and studying the genderless phenomenon, which has become a cultural phenomenon and popularity, hopes that many follow-up studies related to genderless clothes will be conducted in the future.

Moderated Moderating Effect of Gender and Resilience in the Relationship between Family-Friendly Climate and Innovative Behavior (가족친화적 조직분위기와 혁신행동의 관계에서 성별과 회복탄력성의 조절된 조절효과)

  • This research examines the effects of family-friendly organizational climate(FFOC) on innovative behavior. In addition, this study analyzed the moderated moderation effect of members' gender and resilience in the relationship between FFOC and innovative behavior. The results of this study, which empirically analyzed 1,026 employees of manufacturing companies in South Korea using SPSS regression analysis and PROCESS macro, are as follows. First, the FFOC showed a positive effect on innovative behavior. Second, gender had a moderating effect on the relationship between FFOC and innovative behavior. Specifically, men showed higher innovative behavior than women at the low FFOC level, but women showed higher innovative behavior than men at the high FFOC level. Finally, this research demonstrated the moderated moderation effect of gender and resilience in the relationship between FFOC and innovative behavior. ① When the FFOC was high, in the employee group with a low level of resilience, women's innovative behavior was higher than that of men. On the other hand, men's innovative behavior remained at a certain level regardless of FFOC. ② Also, in the employee group with a high level of resilience, the innovative behavior of men was higher than women regardless of FFOC. Based on the results of this study, theoretical and practical implications, research limitations, and future research directions were discussed.
