중력방향과 대향류인 저속 원형노즐 제트충돌에 의한 원형평판에서의 열전달 현상 (The Study of Heat Transfer on a Heated Circular Surface by an Impinging, Circular Water Jet with the Low Velocity Against the Direction of Gravity)

  • The heat transfer phenomenon was investigated in this study when a circular water jet with low velocity flows to the downward facing heated circular plate and against the direction of gravity. Data are presented for jet flow rate between 0.23 and 2.3 l/min, jet fluid temperature of 24$^{\circ}C$, heat fluxes between 345 and 687 W/m$^2$, H/D=1, 2 and 3 with a single round jet diameter 2mm. The effects of heat flux, jet velocity and H/D on the local heat transfer are investigated in for the various regions of jet impingement. The local heat transfer distributions are analyzed based on the visualization of jet flow field. Data from experimental results are correlated by expressions of the form Nu=0.01$Re^{0.58}{\cdot}Pr^{0.4}$.

  • An experimental investigation of heat transfer characteristics at the surface of two-dimensional protruding heated blocks using confined impinging multiple slot jets has been performed. The effects of jet-to-jet distances(S=16B, 24B), dimensionless nozzle-to-block distances(H/B=2, 6) and jet Reynolds numbers(Re=2000, 3900, 5800, 7800) on the local and average heat transfer coefficients have been examined with five isothermally heated blocks at streamwise block spacing(p/w=1). To clarify local heat transfer characteristics, naphthalene sublimation technique was used. From the results, it was found that the local and average heat transfer of heated blocks increases with decreasing jet-to-jet distance and increasing jet Reynolds number. Measurements of local heat transfer coefficients have given an indication of the nature of the interaction between jets and of the uniformity of heat transfer obtainable with various arrangements. In the case of S/B=16, H/B=6 and Re=7800, maximum average Nusselt number of overall blocks was obtained.

  • The present experiment is conducted to investigate heat transfer characteristics on the impinging surface with secondary flows around circular nozzle jets. The changed vortex pattern around jet affects significantly the flow characteristics and heat transfer coefficients on the impinging surface. The effects of the jet vortex control are also considered with jet nozzle-to-plate distances and main jet velocities. The vortex pattern around a jet is changed from a convective instability to an absolute instability with a velocity suction ratio of the main jet and the secondary counterflow. With the absolute instability condition, the jet potential core length increases and the heat transfer on the impinging surface is increased by small scale eddies. The region of high heat transfer coefficients is enlarged with the high Reynolds number due to increasing secondary peak values. The effect of suction flows is influenced largely with collars attached the exit of the jet nozzle because the attached collar guides well the counterflow around the main jet.

  • Single-phase convection and partial nucleate boiling in free-surface and submerged jet impingements of subcooled water ejected through a 2-mm-diameter circular pipe nozzle were investigated by local measurements. Effects of jet velocity and nozzle-to-imping-ing surface distance as well as heat flux on distributions of wall temperature and heat transfer coefficients were considered. Incipience of boiling began from far downstream in contrast with the cases of the planar water jets of high Reynolds numbers. Heat flux increase and velocity decrease reduced the temperature difference between stagnation and far downstream regions with the increasing influence of boiling in partial boiling regime. The chance in nozzle-to-impinging surface distance from H/d=1 to 12 had a significant effect on heat transfer around the stagnation point of the submerged jet, but not for the free-surface jet. The submerged jet provided the lower cooling performance than the free-surface jet due to the entrainment of the pool fluid of which temperature increased.

  • 무제트초기의 불안정성이 하류에서의 와류성장에 영향을 끼치기 때문에 와류의 조절에 의한 충돌면에의 유동 및 열전달 효과의 변화를 기대할 수 있게 된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 FFT를 이용하므로써 제트의 와류생성과 병합의 주파수 특성을 연구하고 이에 적절한 주파수로 와류를 여기하여 자유제트의 유동특성 변화와 충돌제트의 유동 및 열전달 특성을 고찰하였다. 음향여기를 하게되면 제트주위의 와류형성을 조절할 수 있게 되는데, 자연적으로 형성되는 와류의 주파수(와류의 고유주파수)와 관련하여 여기해준 주파수성분 자체보다는 여기주파수의 부조화성분이 중요한 역할을 하게 된다. 음향여기를 통해 와류의 병합이 촉진되면 중심부에서의 난류강도가 증가하게 되고 억제하면 난류강도는 감소하게 된다. 따라서 와류병합을 촉진하면 가까운 거리에서는 높은 난류강도로 인해 정체점에서의 열전달이 증가하지만 멀어질수록 포텐션코어길이의 감소로 오히려 낮은 결과를 나타내었다. 이와 반대로 와류병합을 억제하면 중심부에서의 낮은 난류강도로 가까운 거리에서는 열전달이 감소하였으나 포텐셜코어길이가 길어지면서 먼거리에서는 열전달에 효과적이었다.

과소팽창된 충돌제트에 의한 단열벽면 온도 측정 (Measurement of Adiabatic Wall Temperature on an Impinging Surface by Under-expanded Jet)

  • 평판 표면에 충돌하는 축대칭, 과소팽창 제트에 대한 실험적 연구가 수행되어졌으며, 벽압력 및 단열 벽온도 분포가 자세히 측정되어졌다. 벽온도 분포 결과에 대한 설명을 위하여 자유제트 내에서의 전온도 값을 전온도 탐침을 사용하여 측정하였다. 본 연구에서 실험 변수로는 과소팽창비와 노즐-평판간 거리가 고려되었다. 노즐-평판 간 거리에 따라 제트 경계 및 충돌면에서의 에너지 박리에 의해 서로 다른 형태의 단열 벽온도 분포가 나타났으며, 과소팽창비가 큰 경우, 중심영역에서의 저온 유체 입자의 고립효과로 정체점의 회복계수가 크게 낮아지는 현상 또한 관찰되었다.

  • Free surface impinging jet on a moving plate, which is applicable to cooling of hot metals in a steel-making process, is investigated numerically by solving the Navier-Stokes equations in the liquid and gas phases. The free surface of liquid-gas interface is tracked by a level-set method which is improved by incorporating the ghost fluid approach based on a sharp-interface representation. The method is further improved by employing a nonequilibrium $\kappa-\varepsilon$ turbulence model including the effect of low Reynolds number. The computations are made to investigate the effects of the nozzle pitch, moving velocity of plate and jet velocity on the interfacial motion and the associated flow and temperature fields.

Plume의 주기성이 연층형성에 미치는 영향 (A Characteristics of Smoke Layer Formation Affected Periodicity of Fire Plumes)

  • ON-OFF 제트를 사용하여 plume의 주기성이 천장아래에 형성되는 연층에 미치는 정성적인 영향을 파악하였다. 사용된 연기는 가열에 의해 증발된 kerosene 입자를 섞은 질소가스이다. Laser sheet에 의해 산란된 유동장의 순간 상들은 디지털 비디오 카메라에 의해 녹화되었다. ON-OFF 제트와 연속제트의 연층형성 과정을 비교하므로서 화원근처에 형성되는 연층은 plume과 천장의 주기적인 충돌에 의해 지배됨을 확인하였다. 또한 plume의 주기적인 충돌은 연층을 두껍게하며, back-flow를 일으킴을 확인하였다.

We found that the vortical structures in the shear layer are developed with increase of Reynolds number and that the jet becomes unsteady by the interaction of vortex pairs between 500 and 750 of Reynolds number. Vortical structures and their temporal evolution are verified by using cinematic Particle Image Velocimetry technique.
