A Study on Development of Attack System on the 2.4 GHz AES Wireless Keyboard (2.4 GHz AES 무선 키보드 공격 시스템 구축에 관한 연구)

  • Due to a recent rise in use of a wireless keyboard and mouse, attacks which take user's input information or control user's computer remotely exploiting the physical vulnerability in the wireless communication have been reported. Especially, MouseJack, announced by Bastille Network, attacks 2.4 GHz wireless keyboards and mice through exploiting vulnerability of each manufacturer's receiver. Unlike other attacks that have been revealed, this allows to attack AES wireless keyboards. Nonetheless, there is only a brief overview of the attack but no detailed information on this attacking method. Therefore, in this paper we will analyze the Microsoft 2.4 GHz wireless mouse packet and propose a way to set the packet configuration for HID packet injection simulating a wireless mouse. We also develop a system with 2.4 GHz AES wireless keyboard HID packet injection using the proposed packet and demonstrate via experiment that HID packet injection is possible through the system we built.

  • In this paper, we propose a performance improving MAC algerian for the IEEE 802.11 DCF. WLAN based IEEE 802.11 uses two control methods called 'Distributed Coordination Function(UF)' and 'Point Coordination Function(PCF)'. The nF controls the Urnsmission based on carrier sense multiple access with collision detection(CSMA/CA), that decides a random backoff time with the range of contention window for each terminal. Normally, each terminal the CW double after collision, and reduces the CW to the minimum after successful transmission. This paper proposes an enhanced DCF algorithm that decreases the CW smoothly after successful transmission in order to reduce the collision Probability by utilizing the current status information of WLAN. We also analyze the throughput and delay performance for the unsaturated case mathematically. Simulation results show that our algorithm enhances the saturation throughput of WLAN. They also coincide well with the analytical results.

Mean Transfer Time for SCTP and TCP in Single-homed Environment considering Packet Loss (싱글홈드 환경에서 패킷 손실을 고려한 SCTP와 TCP의 평균 전송 시간)

  • Stream Control Transmission Protocol(SCTP) is a new transport protocol that is known to provide improved performance than Transmission Control Protocol(TCP) in multi-homing environment that is having two and more IP addresses. But currently single-homed computer is used primarily that is having one IP address. To identify whether mean transfer time for SCTP is faster that for TCP in single-homed environment considering packet loss, we make up real testbed regulating the bandwidth, delay time and packet loss rate on router and observe the transfer time. We write server and client applications to measure SCTP and TCP mean transfer time by C language. Analysis of these experimental results from the testbed implementation shows that mean transfer time of SCTP is not better than performance of TCP in single homed environment exceptional case. Main reasons of performance are that SCTP compared to TCP stops transmitting data by timeout and data transmission is often delayed when SACK congestion happens. The result of study shows that elaborate performance tuning is required in developing a new SCTP module or using a implemented SCTP module.

A Scheduling Method to Ensure a Stable Delay Variation of Video Streaming Service Traffic (영상 스트리밍 서비스 트래픽의 안정적인 전달 지연변이 보장을 위한 스케줄링 방안)

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheduling method that can guarantee reliable jitter by minimizing the queue length variation in the streaming service provisioning such as IPTV and VoD. The amount of traffic to be delivered within a certain time is very fluid because MPEG-4 and H.264 encoders use VBR(Variable Bit Rate) for delivering video streaming traffic. This VBR characteristic increases the end-to-end propagation delay variation when existing scheduling methods are used for delivering video frames. Therefore, we propose the new scheduling method that can minimize change rate of queue length by adaptively controling service rate taking into account the size of bulk incoming packets and arrival rate for bulk streaming traffic. Video frames can be more reliably transmitted through the minimization of the queue length variation using the proposed method. We use the queueing model and also carry out OPNET simulation to validate the proposed method.

Wavelet Packet Image Coder Using Coefficients Partitioning For Remote Sensing Images (위성 영상을 위한 계수분할 웨이블릿 패킷 영상 부호화 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a new embedded wavelet packet image coder algorithm is proposed for an effective image coder using correlation between partitioned coefficients. This new algorithm presents parent-child relationship for reducing image reconstruction error using relations between individual frequency sub-bands. By parent-child relationship, every coefficient is partitioned and encoded for the zerotree data structure. It is shown that the proposed wavelet packet image coder algorithm achieves low bit rates and rate-distortion. It also demonstrates higher PSNR under the same bit rate and an improvement in image compression time. The perfect rate control is compared with the conventional method. These results show that the encoding and decoding processes of the proposed coder are simpler and more accurate than the conventional ones for texture images that include many mid and high-frequency elements such as aerial and satellite photograph images. The experimental results imply the possibility that the proposed method can be applied to real-time vision system, on-line image processing and image fusion which require smaller file size and better resolution.

The DIO Interval Adjustment to Enhance Mobility in RPL (RPL에서 이동성 향상을 위한 DIO 전송 간격 조절)

  • The main purpose of this research is to propose an approach for solving the packet loss problem by quickly adapting to topology change when nodes move in RPL-based IoT environment. In order to enhance mobility, every node is aware of the mobility of its neighbor nodes and quantifies the mobility level based on the number of control messages and all received packets. According to the mobility level, the DIO timer is changed. The proposed approach allows nodes to change their DIO timers according to their mobility levels to adapt topology changes and update paths to the sink. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated using a Contiki-based Cooja simulator in various moving speeds. The simulation results show that the proposed approach copes with mobility scenarios better than the standard RPL by ascertaining that the packet delivery ratio is improved by 31.03%.

  • In recent years, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) have been widely used in various industries. However, as the depend ence on UAV increases rapidly, concerns about the security and safety of UAV are growing. Currently, various vulnerabili ties such as stealing the control right of the UAV or the right to communicate with the UAV in the web application are being disclosed. However, there is a lack of research related to the security of UAV. Therefore, in this paper, a study was conducted to determine whether the packet data was normal or abnormal by collecting packet data of an unmanned aerial vehicle in a HITL(Hardware In The Loop) simulation environment similar to the real environment. In addition, this paper proposes a method for reducing computational cost in the modeling process and increasing the ease of data interpretation, a machine learning-based anomaly detection model that detects abnormal data by learning only normal data, and optimized hyperparameter values.

  • 표준 비디오 압축 기법은 프레임 간의 시간적, 공간적 중복성을 이용하여 데이터를 압축한다. 압축된 프레임이 인터넷을 통하여 전송되는 중에 네트워크의 상태에 따라 패킷의 손실이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 오류가 발생하면 손실된 블록을 포함하는 프레임의 화질 뿐 아니라, 이 프레임을 참조하여 압축된 이후의 프레임에도 영향을 미친다. 본 논문에서는 전송오류가 발생한 경우, 디코더에서의 오류전파를 최소화하기 위해 보조 모션벡터를 이용한 압축 기법을 제안한다. 즉, 여러 개의 후보 프레임 중 현재 압축하려는 매크로블록과 가장 가까운 값을 가진 두 개의 매크로 블록을 선택하여 그 위치를 기본 모션벡터와 보조 모션벡터로 지정한다. 이때, 두 모션벡터는 서로 다른 프레임에 속한다. 디코더에서 압축해제를 위해 참조하는 기본 모션벡터의 프레임이 손실된 경우, 보조모션 벡터를 이용하여 원래의 화질에 가깝게 디코딩 할 수 있다. 이 기법은 오류제어를 위한 피드백 채널이 필요하지 않으며, 네트워크상의 전송오류 발생시 표준 H.263 압축보다 높은 성능을 보인다.

  • 최근 들어, 냉장고, 세탁기, TV 등과 같은 가정내의 가전들을 효과적으로 제어하고, 웹에서의 접근을 위한 홈 네트워크 기술에 많은 관심이 모아지고 있다. 홈 네트워크는 가전, 센서, 스위치, 제어기등과 링크할 수 있으며 멀티미디어 데이터의 전달을 위한 인프라의 제공 및 애플리케이션에 대한 사용자 인터페이스를 제공한다. 이러한 다양한 멀티미디어 데이터를 효과적으로 처리하기 위해서는 홈 게이트웨이가 필요하며, 이러한 홈 게이트웨이에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그러나 다양한 데이터 구조의 처리를 위해 IEEE1394, Bluetooth, LonWorks, WLAN, HomePNA, PLC 둥과 같은 다양한 기술의 사용으로 인해 현재 홈게이트웨이는 매우 복잡한 구조를 가지게 되며, 기기간 상호 운용성도 보장하기 어려운 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 홈 네트웍에서 존재하는 다양한 미디어 데이터를 효과적으로 처리할 수 있는 새로운 홈게이트웨이의 구조를 설계하고, 각각의 미디어 데이터를 인터워킹 가능한 패킷으로 만들어 주는 Media Processor와 서로 다른 미디어간의 인터워킹을 위한 Common Switch Interface의 구조에 대하여 기술한다.

  • 연속적이고 동기화된 미디어 스트림을 요구하는 분산 가상 환경 (DVE: Distributed Virtual Environment) 시스템은 크게 3 개 계층, 즉 가상환경, 동기화, 그리고 네트워크 계층 등으로 나누어 질 수 있다. 그 중 동기화 계층의 목적은 그룹 멤버들 간에 일관된 전역적인 상태와 멤버쉽을 유지하게 하는 것이다. 분산 가상 환경에서 이질적인 종단 시스템들 간에 효율적인 미디어 재생을 위해 적응형 동기화 기업들이 연구 되어 왔으나 기존의 적응형 동기화 기업은 가변적인 재생지연의 조절로 인하여 skipping 과 pausing 현상 을 야기한다. 본 논문에서는 분산 가상환경 시스템에서 다자간 미디어 재생을 지원하기 위한 동기화 계층을 설계하고 구현하는 방법에 대해서 기술한다. 특히, 가변적인 네트워크 상태로 인해 발생되는 이벤트 패킷 지연 (delay) 과 순서 오류 (out of sequence) 를 수신 측에서 효과적으로 제어하기 위한 적응형 동기화 재생 기법을 제안하고 skipping 과 pausing 현상을 감소시키기 위한 재생 버퍼 구조를 소개한다. 실험을 통하여 제안된 기법의 효율성을 검증하였다.
