A Study on the Design of a RISC core with DSP Support (DSP기능을 강화한 RISC 프로세서 core의 ASIC 설계 연구)

  • This paper proposed embedded application-specific microprocessor(YS-RDSP) whose structure has an additional DSP processor on chip. The YS-RDSP can execute maximum four instructions in parallel. To make program size shorter, 16-bit and 32-bit instruction lengths are supported in YS-RDSP. The YS-RDSP provides programmability. controllability, DSP processing ability, and includes eight-kilobyte on-chip ROM and eight-kilobyte RAM. System controller on the chip gives three power-down modes for low-power operation, and SLEEP instruction changes operation statue of CPU core and peripherals. YS-RDSP processor was implemented with Verilog HDL on top-down methodology, and it was improved and verified by cycle-based simulator written in C-language. The verified model was synthesized with 0.7um, 3.3V CMOS standard cell library, and the layout size was 10.7mm78.4mm which was implemented by using automatic P&R software.

  • As SOC design methodology becomes popular, processors, the essential core in embedded system are required to be designed fast and supported to customers with expansive behavior description. This paper presents new methodology to meet such goals with designer configurable instruction set simulator for processors. This paper proposes new language called PML(Processor Modeling Language), which is based on microprogramming scheme and is also successful in most behavior of processors. By using this, we can describe scalar processor very efficiently with by-far faster simulation speed in compared with HDL model.

  • 다중의 명령어를 동시에 수행할 수 있는 멀티코어 시스템의 특성으로 하나의 시스템 내에서 태스크를 수행하면서 외부 이벤트의 발생에 의한 인터럽트를 동시에 처리할 수 있다. 각 태스크가 처리되어야 하는 시간에 제약성을 갖는 실시간 시스템에서는 스케줄러에 의해 CPU 코어에서의 수행이 제어되어야한다. 본 논문에서는 최적이라고 알려진 Pfair 멀티코어 스케줄러의 각 코어별 유휴시간을 정량적으로 평가함으로써 인터럽트 처리의 지연시간을 분석한다.

  • This paper describes a functional-level design and simulation of Graphics Processor(GP) which can be used in various graphics systems. GP is divided into two parts: One is CPU, and the other is the interface to I/O peripherals. In order to achieve fast execution of graphics instructions, the CPU has special ALU, barrel shifter and window comparator and a FIFO for instruction prefetch. I/O part controls the DRAM and VRAM which constitute the GP's local memory, generates the signals to drive monitor, and communicates with the host processor. The functional simulation of CPU was done on Daisy workstation while the I/O part was designed using GENESIL, a silicon compiler.

  • This thesis is intended to design multi thread mobile GPGPU optimized in mobile environment, and to verify an effective thread management method of the multi thread mobile processor. In thread management, there is no management hardware and implement with software instructions. For the verification of the multi thread management method, Lane detection algorithm was implemented to compare nVidia's CUDA Architecture and the designed GPGPU in terms of thread management efficiency. The number of thread is normalized to 48 threads. An implemented Land Detection Algorithm is composed of Gaussian filter algorithm and Sobel Edge Detection algorithm. As a result, the designed GPGPU's thread efficiency is up to 2 times higher than CUDA's thread efficiency.

  • In this paper, Escape and BTA(Bus Turn Around) modes of master bridge IC are implemented, which supports MIPI(Mobile Industry Processor Interface) DSI(Display Serial Interface) standard. MIPI DSI master bridge IC sends RGB data and various commands to display module(slave) in order to test it. The Escape mode is designed to implement LPDT, ULPS and trigger message transmissions. The BTA mode is designed to obtain various status information from slave in reverse direction. Functional simulation results show that the designed Escape and BTA modes work correctly for various conditions defined in MIPI DSI standard.

  • 본 논문에서는 미디어 플레이어 제어가 어려운 지체 장애인들을 위해 음성과 동작 인식 기반의 미디어 제어 애플리케이션을 설계하고 구현한다. 이 애플리케이션은 사용자의 음성 인식을 위해 먼저 명령어를 정하고, 명령에 매핑되는 키워드 관리하는 데이터 모델을 생성한다. 그리고 이 데이터 모델을 JSON 파일로 정제하여 사용한다. 그리고 키넥트 센서를 활용한 동작 인식은 오른쪽 어깨를 중심으로 오른쪽 손목의 좌표값을 인식함으로써 동작 인식 제어 컨트롤을 실행한다. 오른쪽 어깨를 기준점으로 오른쪽 손목의 좌표값으로 현재 팔의 위치를 정하고, 영역 1~4 에 따라 동작을 인식한다.

  • The firewall systems can be installed between the intemal network and the extemal network. The firewall systems has the least privilege, so its does not provide transparency to user. This problem of transparency can be solved by using the proxy. In this thesis, I have designed and verified the FTP-PSM(FTP-Proxy Security Mode]) which provides transparency for the firewall systems and has a strong security function. FTP-PSM doesn't finish its work after implementing a command. Instead, its does several security functions such as user authentication, MAC(MandatOlY Access Controll, DAC(Discretionary Access Controll and authentication of user group. Those data must not be lost under any circumstances in order to implement the above security functions. So, the security against such problems as falling into deadlock or unlimited loop during the implementation must be verified. Therefore, FTP-PSM suggested in thesis was verified its security through PHPlace Invariant) based on CPNlCo]oured Petri Net).

  • An URC (Ubiquitous Robot Companion) is aimed for providing the best service according to situational information that it recognizes. In order to offer human-friendly and intelligent services, a robot middleware requires the technique to automate and control URC service processes, which are based on context-awareness. In this paper, we propose a context-aware workflow system to provide web services based URC services according to situational information. The proposed system offers a platform-independent command object model to control heterogeneous URCs, and supports web services based context-aware URC services. Therefore, the proposed system can increase the reliability of URC services in ubiquitous network environment, on which the diverse URC robots and platforms exist. And it can enhance the flexibility and adaptability of the functional and structural changes of URC systems.
